I was thinking: if you could add ANY two NFL players (current) to the current Bears team, who would they be? I've thought long and hard about this, and I've decided that 3 months ago, I would've said Fitzgerald and Calvin Johnson. But, the Bears just used a 2nd round pick on Alshon Jeffery and two 3rd's + $9m/year on Brandon Marshall. So, I came up with these two: Joe Thomas, LT, Browns Haloti Ngata, DT, Ravens Thomas and Ngata are both in their primes and both very good. The Bears OL would go from medicore to good in a heartbeat, and their DL would be McClellin-Melton-Ngata-Peppers. Honorable mention: Darelle Revis, Rob Gronkowski, Jared Allen.…

I did know he was available this year. He still has not signed with a team yet. I would take shot at him for sure. He was one the up and comers a couple of seasons back , And he is only 27. Take a chance?

Pompei wrote an article in the trib stating about bringing back Harris as a rotation guy.Since we are short at the position, someone to give you 10 to 15 snaps a game, may not be a bad idea. He had 10 hurries and 3 sacks in a part time role.

Every time I read one of Larry Mayer's pieces on the officials site I get irritated. If there were ever a bigger brown nose I've yet to see it. This guy thinks everything is great all the time, thinks there are no holes on the team, and whenever possible chooses his words in such a way as to give the staff and management a way to weasel out. So, it got me to thinking about other Chicago journalists, and I know a lot of people don't like Mariotti, but which one do you hate reading?

  5. http://www.suntimes.com/sports/12306507-41...y-to-learn.html Brandon Marshall offers his thoughts on Junior Seau tragedy By BRANDON MARSHALL Special to the Sun-Times May 5, 2012 6:06PM ‘Wow! Wait? What? Junior Seau was shot? How? Why? They’re saying suicide?’’ Question after question went through my head after I heard the tragic news Wednesday. Immediately, my heart began to hurt. What I felt was a deep pain, a deep compassion for this situation beyond Junior, his kids, his family, his teammates and his friends. There are many people out there who are suffering and have nowhere to turn for help or are afraid because of the stigmas placed on …

This is a point to agure with the Packers, Lions and Vikings but with the Bears trading for Marshall and drafting Jeffrey and having Bennett and Hester, with Knox and Thomas we seem to have a better core of players than the other three. Now this maybe is just IMHO the start of the Bears getting back in control of the Division. The Lions have the following players on their roster. 13 Burleson, Nate WR 6-0 198 30 10 Nevada-Reno 10 Harris, Marcus WR 6-1 185 23 1 Murray State 86 Hughes, Nate WR 6-2 195 27 3 Alcorn State 81 Johnson, Calvin WR 6-5 236 26 6 Georgia Tech 11 Logan, Stefan WR 5-6 180 27 4 South Dakota Long, Lance WR 5-1…

  11. "Hardin is just the latest safety to be drafted by the Bears, who have chosen one in eight consecutive drafts. Of the seven who came before Hardin, Conte, Al Afalava, Kevin Payne, Danieal Manning and Chris Harris all started as rookies." http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/footb...8647,full.story Even if some of those were by injury, that's amazing that almost all of our rookie safeties end up starting during year one. Hardin is likely to be the seventh in eight years. The question is, what does that say about our secondary and our coaches?

Is there any vets that could get dropped during training camp due to roster additions? I will throw out there that the (Devin Package) could be a ticket out of town. We added several WR prospects. We added several KR prospects. He makes a lot of money for a 4th WR and a KR specialist I think they ask him to take a pay cut and have the additions to release him or trade him. It is not that I would like this move but with his cap hit this year is 7.6 mil and 12.8 next year and 10.5 mil. is roster bonuses and 3.5 in salary that could be dropped. , I see this as potenially happening. We would save a ton of money. Also I see the possiblity of Spence…

  18. Ignore all the mocks from guys who don't have inside knowledge. We now know how the GMs ranked the NFL prospects this year. Now that they're positioning is known, who would you have drafted? 1. Reilly Reiff - OT - Iowa: I'm still amazed the Bears took, at best, the 4th rated DE, one who comes with question marks addressed by numerous publications, over the 2nd rated OT with minimal downside. 2. Alshon Jeffery - WR - SC: Nothing changed about the trade up or the selection. Easily the best pick of the draft. 3. Brandon Thompson - DT - Clemson: This guy is a beast, quick first move, solid production, killed it at the combine. He is good enough that he would h…

http://www.chicagobears.com/multimedia/ I was watching his highlight tape on the Bears' site (above link) and I have to admit he has one of the most impressive plays I've seen from an offensive player without the ball. On one TD play at the 37sec mark he gets three blocks, falling down on the last one but gets right up and goes after a 4th block but can't quite get there. I am guessing this is what the Bears saw from him, not so much his inline blocking but his open field blocking. Forte should love this and again, it's one more reason to put the contract difference into an incentive because it is now more likely to be earned. I like what Clutts did for us…

In preparation for the Senior Bowl, McClellin asked his agents Bruce and Ryan Tollner of REP1 Sports what he could do to improve his hand punch. They hooked him up with mixed martial arts trainer and television personality Jay Glazer and his partner, former Ultimate Fighting champion Chuck "The Iceman" Liddell. "He comes in looking like Richie Cunningham," Glazer said. "I told Chuck, 'Let's have some fun with him. Push him. Scare the hell out of him. Get your crazy eyes going and let's see if we can make him cower down.' We took turns on him in a Greco-Roman drill that is body on body work." Some of the other draft prospects Glazer has worked with have waved the…
