Someone had posted about this guy but couldn't find it anymore. See what happens when I'm on the road so damn much. I read Wes Bunting's take on this guy and I just don't know what to think about him. I absolute love his size, speed and the fact he uses his body well to shield defenders but Wes also mentioned how the guy is constantly hurt all the time, he shy's away from contact and when he is about to get hit he takes his eyes off the ball, the major problem that I have is that his hands are good either. I think what Cutler needs, besides an Oline that can protect him, is a WR like Brown who has the size but doesn't mind go over the middle but more importantly he ne…

http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2011/02/08/rep...chester-taylor/ LAKE FOREST, Ill. (CBS) – A published report says the Bears are planning to release backup running back Chester Taylor before next season. John Mullin of Comcast SportsNet reported that at age 32, Taylor’s arrow is “definitely not pointing up.” Taylor was signed to a four-year, $12.5 million contract in March 2010, and last season averaged 2.38 yards per carry, which Comcast calls “a dreadful mark.” The Bears have already paid him $7 million, and his base salary for 2011 is expected to be $1.275 million, Comcast reported. The Bears have not released an official comment on the subject. What an inc…

http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2011/...mond-mcgee.html Source: Bears will sign punter Richmond McGee February 9, 2011 6:28 AM | No Comments By Brad Biggs Brad Maynard said all last season that he was hopeful to return to the Bears in 2011. While the team got modest contract extensions finalized for long snapper Pat Mannelly and defensive tackle Matt Toeaina before the season ended, Maynard is one of the 14 players on the roster set to become an unrestricted free agent. Now, perhaps the team has his replacement in place. Richmond McGee will sign a reserve/futures contract this week, according to an NFL source, bringing a familiar face back in…

Does everybody have to agree on everything for a team to be successful ? When a football Org. re-evaluates it's self in off season does everybody really tell the truth ? Is there retribution if you stand up say " were going about this the wrong way " ? What I'm getting is at the Angelo and Co. think tank . Drafting heavy on defense ( seems forever ) is okay if your offense is well above par and you have good depth all around. But the problem is, there only maybe 3 offensive players on the Bears who could start on other teams. Two of those players you didn't draft. In comes the big shake up and Tim Ruskell ( Director of player personnel ) who's the spi…

Not sure how many of you know I am now the lead sports reporter for The Woodstock Independent and the Harvard Main Line two local papers in McHenry County. I have been in the job since August of last year. After the Packers beat the Bears and were headed to the Superbowl, once of our young stringers at the paper contacted the office and asked if he could try to get a press pass for the Superbowl to cover Bryan Bulaga from the Packers (Bulaga went to Marian Central in Woodstock). We told him yes, wished him luck, and thought there was no way he would get one. Later that week, he called to say after 30 plus calls and several emails he had succeeded. His pass a…

This is not supposed to fill your thoughts and needs for the Bears. This is to see if you can predict what JA will do in the draft (per az's challenge). My prediction of JA's picks: 1 - DB - Ras-I-Dowling - Virginia - JA thinks that other positions can wait, and all the Bears defense needs is a shutdown corner. Cutler stumbles. 2 - DT - Stephen Paea - Oregon State - Regardless of what he thinks/says, JA can't resist grabbing a DT. Cutler drops a single tear, then faints. 3 - OT - Marcus Gilbert - Florida - Even JA realizes that the OL needs some help. Cutler fist pumps...from his back. 4 - FS - Jaiquann Jarrett - Temple - Let's see, bad instincts, not v…

I don't know how many of you heard of this or saw this, but after Randel El's 2 point conversion yesterday, Hester tweeted this: Thoughts? This seems to be deeper than "I wish I got the ball more." Sounds more like "give me the f***ing ball, idiots."

Bears offseason priorities IMO: 1 Take care of their own a.) Olin Kreutz - ask him if he can go for 2 more yrs, he's not playing for anyone else. He said he may retire b.) Caleb Haine - Still not a guy you want running the helm if Jay goes down for long, but not much out there better c.) Pisa Tinoisamoa - Solid guy next to Url/Briggs. Remember the SLB takes on more blocks and thats the scheme. d.) Corey Graham - Can fill in spot duty at CB, but great ST. Worth an extension imo e.) Daniel Manning - Seems like he's becoming "demanding", make a minium offer. Hate to see him returning against us. f.) Anthony Adams - He seemed to run out of gas later in th…

They may have won the NFC and SB, but they still lost the division...truth, that makes them losers! And they fell short if the goal is beat the [rival], win the division, win the SB. So Lovie is not impressed. Now it's time for all their free agents to cash in and can go be overpaid to play on other teams. Detroit will finish with a higher record and we won't have to worry about almost beating them with our 3rd string QB. You know, just an unbiased commentary...

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/category/rumor-mill/ John Mullin of Comcast SportsNet Chicago reports that the Bears plan to release backup running back Chester Taylor this offseason. The report points out that 2011 would be Taylor’s age-32 season, and “his arrow is definitely not pointing up.” Taylor averaged 2.38 yards per carry during the 2010 regular season, a dreadful mark even if some of his rushing attempts were of the short-yardage variety. He exhibited very little burst between the tackles. The Bears signed Taylor to a four-year, $12.5 million contract last March and have already paid him $7 million. Taylor’s base salary in 2011 is schedu…

Figuratively, if the Bears could get 1 player from the Packers, who would you want them to get? Raji: a dominating DT who would fill an obvious missing piece in the middle of the Bears DL. Rodgers: the Bears have a QB and in the midst of tons of stars from the Packers as options, Rodgers is a long shot, but would he be worth it? Matthews: another longshot just because the Bears are a 4-3 and he feeds off being an OLB in a 3-4, but again would he be worth it? Jennings: he would immediately be the missing #1 WR the Bears have lacked for years. Bulaga: a young OT who would fill the Bears most pressing need. Other: is there someone else on your mind?

As of right now, these amounts are the contracts that each team in the NFL has committed for 2011. It's good information but there are a lot of details to add. First, the cap in 2009, the last year that a cap existed, was about $130 million. Second, these numbers exist prior to basic offseason moves, like cutting people with non-guaranteed contracts, making qualifying offers to restricted free agents, and attempting to use the franchise/transition tag. Third, there are no holds for draft picks. Fourth, this will change rapidly if players are extended before the CBA runs out. If the owners succeed in forcing cuts to the salary cap in the future, especially if …

http://www.nesn.com/2011/01/sources-larry-...ight-price.html Hellllooo? Don't know what they would be asking. I know the Lions got a 1st and 3rd out of Roy Williams so I think the bidding would start there. How about a 1st and Johnny Knox? This would be a dream come true if Larry Fitzgerald fell into our laps. Best WR in the game today.
