I don't mind that the Bears are being modest with their free agent acquisitions this year. They were one play from the NFCC, had a ton of injuries, and most of their offseason losses (snap-wise) were on the defensive side of the ball, where they need upgrades anyway. Also, just like every other year, there have been some outrageous deals going out. Jaelan Phillips led all free agents with $30M AAV and had 2 sacks in 8 games for PHI. Pierce resigned with the Colts but still got $28.5M, which is crazy high for a WR2. Hendrickson got $28M and Lindenbaum got $27M. Rarely do signings like that work out in the long run. Of the 15 teams that signed a new player with a higher AAV…

I’m not sure what happened - still trying to unwind it so site could go back down. Server company did something on back end to update something and it’s crashed the whole site. Been working on fixing it for a few days - so appreciate the patience and apologies for the outage. Hopefully close to having it fixed

Sounded like he had an offer from Bears and Pats - ended up choosing to reunite with Vrabel. Wish him the best. Was hoping we'd keep him. Fact we were still talking to him tells me we may still add a vet safety yet. I still think a 1yr deal with Brisker could make some sense. Maybe give him some upside with incentives and allow him to hit the market again next year.

https://www.profootballrumors.com/2026/03/bears-to-sign-wr-kalif-raymond#ref=home $5mil is a lot for a returner. Gotta think Duvernay is gone and maybe he replaces the role OZ had too.

Seems like a lower-end depth piece. Played a year with DA in 2022 in NO, so there is some inside knowledge on what he brings.

I heard today that AZ Cardinals are interested in Bagent. ( Probably bullsh**). So the question is if we could get a 3 Rd pick for him, would you trade him? The story suggested a 2nd but that seems unrealistic. I think this year they keep the offensive players together for continuity issues. Maybe one might be gone but majority so we can go be aligned to have the best offense in the league. Every time a player becomes available a bunch of pundits have them coming to the bears. Poles never lets information out so when say, they have sources, bullsh**.

I think Tremaine Edmunds is going to get cut soon. Whether we cut him or trade him, whether before or after June 1st, the result is the same. We will open up $15M in Salary Cap space. Of course I'd rather get something for him, even a 7th rounder, but if a team trades for him, they'll be on the hook for the $15M this year, and I don't see anyone paying him that much. It's possible if two (or more) teams want him AND can restructure him in a longer term deal to something more appropriate, then maybe we could get some value in trade, but I think it's much more likely that teams will just wait for us to cut him. There's no real benefit in waiting, and we …
