You boys know I'm one of the biggest koolaid kids here. So, it may surprise you to hear this... THIS TEAM SUCKS. No, not tonight. Who gives a SHIT about tonight? * I've been bitching about the O Line for 3 years or longer. Angelo has ignored it. Biggest problem on the team now, no question. * We bring in almost an entirely new coaching staff. Everyone knows it usually takes a new staff two years to pull it all together. What do we do? We SIT our starters for most of the preseason and when they play they SUCK BALLS. * We have one of the toughest schedules I can remember. Our own division is great and we play the east in the AFC and NFC. ARE YOU KIDDIN…

I have read some post stating that the Bears don't have a WR that is worth any praise but, I'm on the other side when it comes to Knox who I believe is going to have a breakout season. I have latched on to this kid since I saw him working out at the Combine and believe he has the potential to be a game breaker so you fantasy drafters should add him to your squads in late rounds.

The Rams put Kevin Payne on IR. If he stays there, Chicago wouldn't receive its conditional seventh-round pick for trading him to St. Louis

Trade bait: Roster cuts from 80 to 75 are due Tuesday and teams are beginning to call around to see what might be available. A league source said the Bears have informed other clubs that running back Garrett Wolfe and safety Al Afalava could be traded. That doesn't mean they will be or they're destined to be released, but the fishing line has been cast. Wolfe is in competition with Kahlil Bell for the third running back job. Bell has been staying after practice to get extra special teams work in this week. The third running back must be a four-phase special teams contributor and Wolfe has been a good one. "It's definitely a different type of challenge, tryi…

I thought this would happen with the signing of Mike Williams. But I think it would be good add for the bears. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d81a3...le=HP_headlines

Dave Toub's the best special team's coach in the league. Granted out ST's have mostly sucked, but I have 100% faith we'll right the ship on opening day. Ditto with Martz. I might be foolishly optimistic, but I think he's playing his cards close to his chest. IMO, once the season starts, the blocking schemes work, and we'll carve the defense apart. You won't see the Wild-cat and you sure as hell won't see Dez Clark lined up as a FB on a run play. I belive 2 of the 3 can get it together. I wish I felt that way about the defense. In the pre-season, we can't get to the quarterback, we can't stop the pass, our safeties suck, and we can't get off the field. …

It took me a day to shake off the depression and sum up the courage to watch the game again. After going through the first and half of the second quarter in slo-mo mostly to focus on line play and this is what I saw: Oline pass blocking: It's not all bad and quite often Cutler had time to make throws. On a couple plays the pressure could have been avoided if Cutler made a step or two in the right direction. Lance Louis is rapidly getting better and it was very obvious this game, one way you can know that is because you never heard Darnell Dockett's name. I'm not saying he is where he needs to be but at this rate he'll get there and he may end up our best line…

In talking about the preseason game with Az, what does Lovie stress as a key area of concern? missed field goals? He even went on to say the D played well. What? If this defense can't stop teams from converting on 3rd downs. FGs are not going to make a dang bit of difference. Lovie continues his dillusional ways. Nothing to see here. All is well. Move on.

I have to say that despite what the stats say for yesterday that I am starting to see good things from this starting unit. I was glad that they decided to keep Lance Louis in there in to the 3rd. We saw some very good things from this unit like the beautiful blocks by Louis and Kruetz and Greg Olsen sealing his block as well to spring Forte for his 89 yd run. We also saw the bad. i.e. Chris Williams. Wimbley ate him up for dinner last night.

Okay, poll one is in the books, and option 2 won. So as of now, we are keeping one player (based on last year's vote) and we give up one round ahead of when that player was drafted. As a follow up to this, I want to bring to the table the question of keeping a player who was drafted in the 1st round of last year. This is in particular a bit of an issue as you can't give up a round higher than the 1st round the player was taken. What I thought a potential option here, if we want to keep 1st rounders, would be to make the person keeping a 1st round player pick at the top of the round. For example, I took Steven Jackson in the 1st last year. Lets say I want…

I know we'll all be looking for some good things to happen this weekend against the Cards so here's a bit of a scouting report from what I've seen of the Cards so far this offseason. QB: Leinart has not looked good at all this preseason and has now been demoted in favor of Anderson. Meanwhile, Anderson's accuracy is all over the place. He can hit some perfect deep passes and then miss an easy 10 yard route. Under pressure his mechanics fall apart. Translation: If our secondary looks good don't make too much of it. OTs: The Cards OTs aren't all that great in pass protection. I expect Peppers to get around the corner early and often. If Mark Anderson…
