Football is an entertainment business. Judging by the empty seats it is not entertaining and not a very good business. I heard estimates of 11k empty seats. Soldier field is the 5th most expensive stadium that has a fan index rate of $557.18 (4 tickets ((avg price)) two small beers, four hot dogs, program, and two adult caps). That means that there is roughly 2750 units that can be associated with that index. So with that loss last night the bears potentially lost over 1 million in ticket sales and revenue from vendors. Now I know a lot of those empty seats are from ticket holders. But this is a trend you don't want starting. Vendors feel it, restaurants and bars …

Jay Cutler should not be the scapegoat, not jays fault, he should be starting. Gould hopes Cutler is back next year to lead this team. Also said this year is not the Bear way, being a Bear for 10 years this year is not the way Lovie had taught them concerning things getting out of the locker room people throwing others under the bus...etc.... Some points I thought you guys may have been interested to hear

So I have finally gotten around to a computer to do some "Proper research" vs trying to do it on a tablet, and instead of simply doing a mock draft I'm gonna add in a few FA signings as well. First and foremost give me Devin McCourty. Despite popular belief that Jay's contract is so big it will prohibit them to add to the defense, the Bears will have a pretty good chunk of change to work with. Overall I think the defense does have some talent on it, I just happen to think Tucker is keeping said talent down, so I don't mind spending a big chunk o change on 1 player vs multiple cheaper players. Then give me Brandon Marshall of the Broncos...No I'm not talking abou…

Reports are he, along with Dawson are interviewing today. Adam Jahns indicating that one source suggests that Ernie Accorsi's top recommendation is Gaine. I think a lot of what is being reported is pure crap. This is someone saying oh hey, Ernie worked with Bill Parcells, he clearly would want a Parcells guy.

If word gets out that he's open to coming to the NFL, there's my top HC choice. Think he'd be the next Pete Carroll.

Two years after I started watching Bears football games, the longtime coach decided to re-retire and turn the reigns over to a first time head coach and his defensive coordinator. The resulting season was an injury riddled underacheiving season for the team. The star player got injured and the starting QB got injured and on the last game of the season a game in which if the Bears won they had a chance at the playoffs and in the 4th qtr an interception was thrown in the endzone to end the Bears chances. The year was 1968, the star player was Gayle Sayers who suffered a season ending knee injury(see Brian's Song), the starting QB was Virgil Carter who had replaced Jack…

Del Rio likely heading to Oakland Gase rumored to be favorite in San Fran. Quinn is rumored to be favorite in Atlanta Ryan already accepted the Buffalo job. Bowles accepted the Jets job. ???? nothing yet coming out of Denver, but rumor has it, they REALLY like Quinn. Everyone in the Chicagoland area is assuming the Bears will hire John Fox.... If something goes wrong here, i can see the Bears making one more push for Quinn. Stay tuned...this is ever changing!

  12. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/...-as-head-coach/ Very interesting. This means Gase is still out their. If Denver goes with Kubiak, maybe Gase reunites with John Fox as OC.

CHI - John Chiles signs Futures deal Source: NFL Free-agent WR John Chiles (CFL) signed a Reserve/Future contract with the Chicago Bears Tuesday, Jan. 27. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The former Texas Longhorn was undrafted in 2011, but he did spend some time with the Saints and the Rams before heading up north. In the CFL, Chiles played for the Toronto Argonauts. He's a good receiver on deep routes, can track the ball well over his shoulder and has agility in the open field. Chiles' game is built on his run-after-the-catch ability and vertical speed.

  14. Now the boring time of the year. Cant wait for FA to begin!!!!!! Pace and Fox now have to go through the roster and prepare for the draft. The next couple of months should be a little more interesting then years past 1. The great Jay debate will be solved.....will they try to win with him now, will they cut him or trade him 2. Marshal= where there is smoke there usually is fire......has he really worn out his welcome 3. What scheme will the Bears be running on D???? should get a pretty good idea by the roster moves 4. what older players will be resigned or cut???? I am really excited to see what the Bears do in FA and the Draft.....not to …

Some here are hanging their hats on the statement Pace made talking about building through the draft. This has lead me to wanting to re watch it and digest it again after the initial excitement of a new GM wore off. The statement was made about building in the draft for sustained success, and it's certainly understandable to take that quote and run with it, but there's more to it. When asked about whether this is a rebuilding team or a team capable of a quick turnaround, Pace brought up the 06 Saints. The 05 Saints were 3-13 and Pace talked about how everyone was talking about how the team was in need of a "Massive rebuild" and how the team was "Decimated", but …

Was looking through San Frans defensive free agents and came across a somewhat intriguing name. Dan Skuta, the OLB who filled in for Aldon Smith while he was out. He racked up 5 sacks in just 398 snaps. Here's an article entitled "Dan Skuta Aims for 10-sack Seasons, Pro Bowls" http://www.49ers.com/news/article-2/Dan-Sk...f0-7b0e2eb6ff3c As you can see he's pretty high on himself, and gives a lot of praise to Fangio for putting him in the right position. He was a nobody up until Fangio put him at OLB. Now the question is, is Fangio as big on him as he is on himself? Hard to get a tell on him with pretty much no tape out there and little to n…

Does anyone have any opinions on the following: (I heard numerous discussions on a few sites and shows thart mention these guys a few times...) Fill in our need for speed 1. WR Justin Hardy - fast, small, but good after catch and good seperation 2. WR Dez Lewis - fast Pass Rushers 3. DE Shane Ray - edge rusher 4. OLB Dante Fowler QB 5. Blake Sims - late round diamond in rough?

  18. 1. Can they restructure his deal making it more cap friendly? Or should I say ask him to take a pay cut and then make the contract more incentive based??? 2. Is this their way of putting it out there that he is on the trading blocks??? 3. Could they be making their decision to cut him or keep him? Pace and Fox may just say freak it and cut him opening up money next year and eating it now. If you didn't hear it or see it, Jay Gruden came out and said RG3 is their starting QB next season. Fox and Pace went the complete other way with their press conference. I wonder if their dinner with McCown was a little bit of a Cutler research meeting. Who bette…
