No Hail Mary here: Hanie in position to be the No. 2 quarterback After Orton returned from his injury I was disappointed he did not regain his earlier form. I thought it was reported he was nearing full recovery from his ankle injury. If that was the case why was his play so bad compared to earlier in the season? In this interview I see he was no where near 100% after returning from the injury. Heck, he is only reported to be about 95% now: I am pleased he is indicating Hanie will get a chance to be the #2. I know this upsets many, but quite frankly, it excites me. I also think we will draft a QB prospect on day 2.

Special Teams Article at Bears Site They just posted the 9th and final position article on the Bears Website. To be honest, the previous 8 I found very uninteresting as it seemed like typical coach-speak and gave really no information we did not already know or suspected. This one actually was interesting to me and gave an insight to some changes in special teams that might take place. If you have yet to go to the team site (my home page, LOL) you should check out the article. It talks about some changes being made in personel, a change in Goulds KO technique, players to keep an eye on with special teams, etc... Good stuff!!

Adding FAs as we have, you might have a year or two in there where the OL plays well, but it will never see consistency. I'm ready for this weekends games and here's a few things I'll be looking for. DT: I like some of the things Melton did last game, Toeina too. They were inconsistent on pressure but definitely showed up on several plays. With all the discussion lately around BPA vs. needs I'm curious to see what everyone views our top needs are heading into the draft. I tried to include all positions so this can be as objective as possible. In other words ILB is still listed even though we just spent $10mil to fix it. Even though I listed top 3 needs, if we get enough people to vote then from a statistics view point we should we will be able to identify and rank our top 5 needs. To do that I'll give every 1st place vote 10 points, every 2nd place vote 5 points, and every 3rd place 3 points.
