Interesting article, just using age as a comparison of other WRs that had their breakout year at 23 or later. https://beargoggleson.com/2022/05/06/velus-jones-chicago-bears/ The top 2 WRs on the list are Cooper Kupp and Van Jefferson. That's basically it. That is out of 37 WRs in that same group. I understand their point, that an older player is more fully developed, so they have an easier time against 19 and 20 year olds that are still developing. The Bears passed on Abraham Lucas, OT, Christian Harris, LB, Travis Jones, DT, Bernard Raimann, OT, Jalen Tolbert, WR, Dylan Parham, OG, and David Bell, WR. I really hope he works out and pro…

http://www.dailyherald.com/story/?id=333919&src=148 Hell yes. Can't agree more, as I know Jason will agree as well. You just can not ignore OL in the draft as we have and expect to have a good OL. Adding FAs as we have, you might have a year or two in there where the OL plays well, but it will never see consistency. I would further argue against the FA route we have gone by pointing out the OL, more than most units, needs time to develop chemistry. When you add older vets who are not expected to have more than a year or so left, you just will not have sustained success. Even if Pace played better, he was a short term solution. It would be one thing i…

I'm ready for this weekends games and here's a few things I'll be looking for. DT: I like some of the things Melton did last game, Toeina too. They were inconsistent on pressure but definitely showed up on several plays. If we're keeping 5 DTs it looks like Harris, Adams, Harrison, Melton, Toeina and surprisingly I feel a lot better about our depth here today than I did 3 weeks ago. Don't mistake that for confidence across the board it's just that coming into camp there were a ton of questions among this group with Adams being the only consistently reliable player for us last year. DE: Corey Wootton didn't do much last game. Jarron Gilbert did less. …

I think we are in for a shootout our offense wont be able to keep up with. Honestly was any reciever ever open other than Olsen? Cutler moved around and was able to connect with the ever smothered Earl Bennett and Hester wasnt much better. Can these guys stay on their feet when they catch a ball? Beyond the TEs and Forte of course, its not looking good to me. And please abandone the slant on the left side of the field, yikes!! One slight hint of hope was DA getting some separation, especially in the deep pass.. 1 foot to the right and it was a perfect TD throw . Oh well. Anyone notice how hester went back to normal influencing the punts? forget the few that were ins…

"How many different ways can you say, 'What were they thinking?' " a team executive who declined to be identified said after being told the terms of Asomugha's three-year, $45 million contract. "Insanity, stupidity, whatever you want to attach to it. Yeah, the kid is the best cornerback in the league. They paid for quality. I'll give them…

With all the discussion lately around BPA vs. needs I'm curious to see what everyone views our top needs are heading into the draft. I tried to include all positions so this can be as objective as possible. In other words ILB is still listed even though we just spent $10mil to fix it. Even though I listed top 3 needs, if we get enough people to vote then from a statistics view point we should we will be able to identify and rank our top 5 needs. To do that I'll give every 1st place vote 10 points, every 2nd place vote 5 points, and every 3rd place 3 points.
