Congrats to this young man for earning a starting opportunity in Week 3 of the preseason. I've been complimentary of him the last couple weeks and it seems he done as well or better in practice this week with the 1st team. If you like watching Olinemen run LBs out of the play watch a couple of his highlight clips at the link. http://bearswire.usatoday.com/2016/08/25/c...n-performances/

I personally think AROB is a top 5 or 6 best WRs in the league. Having said that, for the 18.6 mil it will take just to tag him this year should we? How about sign a Cory Davis made 6 mil last year, ( maybe 10 m) and Curtis Samuel who made 1.6 last year (6 mil contract for this year) and throw in a Phillip Dorsett 1.2 mil this year (3 mil contract). None are as good as AROB but gives us a upgraded WR room, for almost the same money. That way we can concentrate on upgrading the OL and a QB prospect in the draft.

  7. Per Twitter: Mike Garafolo ‏@MikeGarafolo 50 mins It's been relatively quiet on the Long front. Bears and Rams believed to be among the most interested. We'll see. The Trib says the Bears are also looking at Bushrod and Cook and might have to choose between the two. I say if the Bears can get out of FA with either Long or Bushrod, I'd consider it a success. I'd even pay a little more for Long, all things being equal. I don't love Cook, and think it might be more prudent to sign a second-tier potential starter at TE (I've always liked Delanie Walker) and spend the extra $ at LT and look at TE and OG in the first round of the draft.

Now we know why Carimi was jettisoned. I speculated it was Britton who was performing well...I was wrong. Brown might be setting himself up to be a starter in 2014. http://www.suntimes.com/sports/football/be...ew-coaches.html

I didn't see this mentioned anywhere but Teven was on the radio with Jeff Joniak. He sounds like he's in a much better place mentally this year and more focused on his craft. His interview starts around 12min mark.

I was looking at some stats to see if there were other cases of QBs with similar stats to Fields after their second years, and surprisingly, there were actually quite a few and some that ended up very successful. Here is a screenshot of the output. 16 QBs qualified, since 1980, in their first two seasons, totaled less than 30 TDs, more than 20 INTs, Comp % under 60, and yards less than 5000.

The media disrespect continues. According to draft order, the bears finished 23rd ranked in the NFL. Not bad considering it was year two of a complete rebuild. We played the last half of theseason as a top fifteen team. Fast forward to the 2024 season and the preseason rankings have arrived. In comes The Athletic, ranking us at 24! As the slander and liable continues, please post rankings you find. I want to uproot this incompetence early, so we can nail them to it later.

Looks like Harrison is taking this offseason more seriously than last. Judging by the picture here he's in better shape than anytime I saw him last season. It's still early in the offseason and there's still a lot of weight lifting to be done and a lot of biscuits to pass up. http://www.chicagobears.com/photos/index.asp?SECTION_ID=340

You know what? I check this site almost daily. But, I don't usually opine. But, all of this stuff I'm hearing about Cutler has me pissed. Did these guys watch a single game this year?? The dude was getting KILLED back there all year. He never quit, bitched or complained. The only time he left a game is when he was knocked silly behind some terrible line play. As bad as it may have appeared, we were only down two TD's, and they think he chose this time to quit? In the NFC Championship game? Gimme a freakin' break! Sorry to vent fellas.

Probably too old and I'd rather get younger at the DT position. But I just read he's not being picked up by the Pats so figured I'd ask your thoughts. He's big enough for NT, too. But he's also got some character issues.

INJURY REPORT AND IMPLICATIONS Tennessee Titans (8-0) at Chicago Bears (5-3) By Michael Nudo Former Bear Jeff Fisher brings his undefeated Titans to Soldier Field on Sunday (AP Photo/Mark Humphrey). BEARS OFFENSEcolor> vs. TITANS DEFENSEcolor> Rex Grossman is poised for his first start of the season after Kyle Orton sustained an ankle injury against Detroit. Orton has been making progress this week but it would be a big surprise if he plays. The height-challenged Grossman will need to find passing lanes and avoid having passes knocked down by the Titans’ interior line, which includes 6’6”defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth (6 sacks). There is several teams that need cap space that have bloated contracts for some players. This is a list of potential releases, do we want any of them. Oakland- Michael Crabtree had a bad year, not all his fault but is due 8.25 and cutting him will save Oak 7.7 mil Ravens- Jerry Maclin had a bad year and is due 7.5 mil, they would save 5 mil by cutting him. N.O. - Coby Fleener is due 8.1 mil for his 22 recs. and 2 TDs Miami- JuWuan James/OT is due 9.2 mil coming off an injury prone season. they are going to rescind his 5th year option. 25 years old RT Jets- Muhammad Wilkerson/DT can save 17 mil by designated him a June 1st cut. I think Ja…
