Here is a quick look at how are rookies are doing so far: Smith - 15 solo tackles (2nd on team), 1 sack, 1 PD, played in a team-high 81% of defensive team snaps vs TB. He is clearly getting more and more playing time, and he is nowhere near his peak yet. Just think about it, no one is even talking about him because guys like Jackson, Hicks, Trevathan, Callahan, and of course Mack are playing great. Daniels - rotated with Kush in TB game, looks like he is ready for prime time. He seeks contact like a vulture. He wants to hit people and is very athletic and strong. So far the Lions have kept themselves in the game. It would be funny if Detroit pulls out a win against the Vikings. But then again the Browns held them close for about as long and then collapsed.

We have players returning from injury but there are questions about who will remain a starter. Bushrod should be close to returning. I haven't heard anyone clamoring for him to get back on the field, not even our Oline guru Jason (not that Bushrod was a favorite of his). Will Leno stay as our starter when Bushrod is healthy? I think we're going with the future here so I say yes. Grasu...I think once he recovers from his neck injury he'll be back at center. Hats off to Eddie Royal! He is becoming a big part of this team this year. After last season I was ready to move on, but the way he has been performing, they are lucky to have him locked up. Royal and Z Miller are our TD mahines, Pace has a couple of gems here.

GB - I'll take a nice sloppy game tonight. Both the bears and Pukers are about equal in terms of rushing offnese, but there is a huge difference in rush defense. We are the 7th ranked run D, allowing less than 100 yard per game and only 3.5 ypc average. GB meanwhile is the 27th run defense, allowing nearly 140 yards per game, and 4.7 ypc average. They have us in the passing game, both in offense and defense, but if the weather is as cold and bad as it looks, it will making passing much harder. Every year the draft has strange twist that are unpredictable. This year I have a feeling that it will be even more strange this year.According to the talking heads OT and WR is going to dominate the first round with about 6 picks each that leaves 20 picks for the other posititons. I believe only two DTs Rajii and Jerry are locks for the first round with Hood and Brace following close behind. Everyone has talked about how bad the team as looked with Mack hobbled by the ankle the last two games. However, we were a good defense without him last year, and Floyd was a big part of it. This year Floyd looks more like a UDFA than a first round pick. His numbers have actually gotten worse every year and he has never played more than 12 games per season. I know there is still some time, but if he continues to play like this, I don't see them picking up his 5th year option.
