I'm still not comfortable with McGown at a hit away from being the starter. Im looking at the Jets collection of qbs and got my eye on Mc Elroy. On the street after Trent Edwards there isn't much. Thoughts anyone?

Changing the vibe around here, since there is nothing to talk about post-draft, I'd like to discuss what appears to be bad form by our new LB, Jon Bostic. I've heard guys from the NFL to DII officiating say they are trying to take the helmet/head out of hitting, and Bostic needs to make an adjustment. What's more, I watched his and there are several more high hits with bad form. He dips his head to hit, rarely sees his target, and doesn't wrap up. Unless he changes his technique, you can guarantee this guy is going to get penalties for the Bears.

Looking at our line we have a lot of battles for positions this year. We have centers that can play Guard we have Guards that can play center, we have guards that can or are projected in the future to play tackle and we have tackles that can play guard. Our coaches will have their hands full trying to figure out who is the best fit to play where with all the new additions(in bold). So what are your thoughts of who should be where? The whole story about Long being a reach is starting to get to me. He was the 3rd rated OG in most of everyones eyes but the preceding pick the 6th rated OT is not a reach. So as I continue to look at this from a Bear fan's perspective, here is what I see: 1st pick comes from a Mid Major conference what was his level of comp. 3rd pick Former TE on defense for only 2yrs rarely played with hand in the dirt and this was a trade up. 4th pick Former Juco QB,TE and DE and 2 yr OL 5th pick Enetered school as track athlete,tried basketball first,zero starts before senior year 13 games as Senior 4.5 sacks. 6th picks 4.5 sacks and drafted as an edge rusher 7…

After all of us posting mocks, debating FA pickups and FA departures going forward my focus will be on how the current roster takes to this regime and how many of the veterans of the previous regime will survive this TC. I usually take a vacation and visit 1 day. I'm thinking about making a couple of days out of it when I go. What are any of the rest of you expecting to see.

Looking at what has been done after the season my top acquisition has been narrowed down to 2 Bushrod and Kasheem(sp?) Greene. I think both are solid players and will make an impact next year and probably take over for Briggs when he is a cap casualty next year.

First time I ever setup a poll so if this doesn't work right I apologize. I will leave this up for a couple days to collect the votes. If there is not a clear winner (i.e. one player with 50% of the vote) I'll post a final poll with only the top two or three vote getters. From that the winner will be our draft choice. Pixote will be the honorary GM for this. He gets to vote as well but if we have a tie at the end, as GM he will make the final decision on who we draft. On draft day I'd have taken Alec Ogletree and that is where my vote is.

Regarding the Rams pick at 22... "The Rams sat at 22. They wanted Ogletree and were reasonably confident he'd be there. But they'd been talking with Houston at 27 and Atlanta at 30 about moving down to recoup some of what they'd give up to acquire Austin. Their fallback guy was UCLA defensive end Datone Jones, but if he and Ogletree were gone, they'd take Kentucky guard Larry Warford." If there is discussion about Warford at 22, even though it's later stated in the article that they'd be slightly disappointed about all their other guys being taken earlier, then Long at 20 doesn't seem too out of this world.

I'm hoping to hear that at least one of the three rook LB's we just drafted "hits like a ton of bricks and has an outstanding nose for the football." It would be great if they said that about all of them... I'm expecting to hear Alshon is "all that" and a slice of cheese. I'm hoping to hear that Hardin is out there. Just realized that I need to figure out who my keeper will be for the upcoming season. Decisions, decisions. Here are my options and draft results from last year. To me it looks like my options are SF for a 6th, Flacco for an 11th, or Amendola for a 16th. Hernandez was my Keeper last year.
