Making that move which has been reported locally would cost the Bears 8 of their possible 11 million in cap space basically handicapping them to make other moves. A deal needs to be done to give the team more flexability.

Yes there has been much talk about what or who we need to draft in the draft &FA but the bottom line is this....Defense wins championships. Now dont get me wrong we do need to have firepower on the offensive side of the ball too, along with the WR and line to match, but our main problem is the cover two system and the lack of cover guys in it. We are good at stopping the run but our pass defense is pitiful to say the least.Someone said on the board that we can not just sit in a cover two zone and allow WR to just catch the ball then tackle them. ... It seemed like a feeding frenzy for OL and WR's. There was some teams I thought drafted like they were sitting at the buffet table at all you can eat restaurant. I was pretty much busy all day but checking in periodically not wanting to miss our 2nd rnd pick. Unfortunately it was not in the cards. It seems Angelo tried to trade for Boldin but Az. wanted to much. Even though it would have been nice, but no dice. Seeing that San Diego made Eric Weddle one of the highest paid safeties in football reminded me of how the Bears botched a perfect trade. During the 2007 Draft, the Chargers traded the 62nd pick, 93rd pick, a 2008 3rd & 5th rounder to move up to the 37th pick and select Weddle. I praised JA for getting a a 2nd, 2 3rds, and a 5th for a 2nd. Helluva a deal. Unless you use those picks to take Dan Bazuin, Garrett Wolfe, Kevin Payne, and Marcus Harrison. Yikes.

I completely missed that James Daniels was on the field for about half the offensive snaps.
