I know that Mike Martz is supposedly all right with the current wide receivers that we have however, we had a chance to obtain two of the better receivers in league during the off-season and one of the two was just recently released. Kurt Warner is expected to announce his retirement on Friday. Could the Bears turn to Martz for their OC position and than offer Warner a job as our QB coach. I realize Warner would have a lot to prove, but he makes quick reads, gets rid of the ball quickly, and would be a pretty good role model for Cutler. Just throwing it out there since evidently NFL network is reporting that Warner wants to pursue coaching or the broadcast booth when he retires.

As per profootballtalk.com, in summary, Warner said he's staying in Arizona or retiring, and 1/3 of the teams in the NFL have interest in Leftwhich. This is news to Bears fans since after JA's state of the Union address, many of us have taken his comments to mean that Angelo will pursue a QB in free agency. Now Warner, the top QB in free agency, is off the market. That will drive Leftwhich's price up, since as PFT pointed out, there are a ton of teams in the NFL desperate for a QB. Cutler looked different on Saturday, I cant pinpoint but he had a different look in his eyes. He looked to be moving in the pocket better, a couple of times he made the smart move and ran with it instead of forcing a throw. On the play were he lowered his shoulder and tried to bull rush his way into the endzone it just looked like he was trying to make a statement. Preseason or not he was going all out. I was thinking today that perhaps JA has already hedged his bet that Lovie wouldn't turn around this team. For a head coach who still has two years remaining he didn't go out last year and hire a DC. He didn't extend Ron Turner's contract past this season. I don't know the timing of the assistant coaches contracts but my point is that the two largest contracts besides the HC don't exist in this organization. Was that done to make firing Lovie more financially acceptable? Wouldn't it have been more logical to hire a new DC since at the time Lovie still had 3 years left on his contract? Clearly last year JA was the source of all the staff changes last year.…
