Swift Sports Network put out a short video about Poles interest in Jake Witt. Seems he has been in touch with him for over a year, interviewed him, took him out to dinner, etc... Then I read an interview held with him on windycitygridiron.com. I suspect Poles will draft him with one of our 7th round picks or gamble and pick him up as a UFA. One way or another, don't be surprised if this kid doesn't wind up as a special project for Poles on our practice squad.

He needs to give it up. The offense scored 13 points yesterday and was gifted 6 by turnovers and great field position. They had one drive, the first one, which is usually scripted, in which it was all offense. Nothing has changed since last year nor since he arrived. The offense looks terrible when he is calling plays. Cole Kmet had 1 target and 1 reception for 0 yards. Graham had 0/0. Nothing has changed. Horsted and James have yet to hit the stat sheet this season. So in two games, TEs have accounted for 10 targets, 7 receptions and 53 yards. Why is Graham not being targeted in the RZ?

So Bray got activated for the Colts game and Trubisky doesn't have backup QB duties on the sidelines. I know Nagy tried to downplay this, but there has to be more to this. The draft will fill some of our roster spots, but other than the first two rounds, how much will you be able to count on them for major contributions. We still have some roster spots to fill that has to get done. We still need a backup QB. I think McCown is the logical choice, due to our comfort zone with him and he will be cheap. Also Campbell could come back but after paying him 3.5 mil last year , I dont see him playing cheap. Unless its a high draft pick, I dont see us getting our #2 in the draft. With $3.1M cap savings and the drafting of Amegajie, Borom seems like the odd man out. Gaining over $3M in cap space would put the Bears back in the top 10 for cap space (currently 12th) which would allow them to bring in another DT and DE with room to spare. Other roster casualties from my perspective are: Robinson, Gill, and possibly Homer and/or Velus. The last two will be ST dependent.
