  2. Redskins Special-Teams Standout Rejects Contract Offer Posted by Aaron Wilson on April 30, 2009, 12:11 p.m. Washington Redskins reserve linebacker and special-teams ace Khary Campbell has declined the team’s contract offer of a veteran minimum salary and is holding talks with other NFL teams, according to David Elfin of the Washington Times. Per the report, Campbell, who led the Redskins in special-teams tackles over the past three seasons, has made up his mind that he’s not going to accept the offer and will be moving on. “That wasn’t something I was going to accept,” Campbell told the Times. “And they drafted two linebackers. They did what they had to do,…

  3. Either he's waiting for Favre to sign, or he's showing off his diva-ness and red flags many drafters were worried about. May they experience no less than what we did w/ Benson! Couldn't happen to a better team.

lemonej brought up an interesting point during the post on the new rookies' numbers and Moore having Mike Brown's old number. And then mentioned other instances in the past... I have no problem with it. However, my thought is that if the players' number in question is in the HoF, we should retire that jersey! Ie. 99 needs to be retired NOW!

Sports The man in blue in Lane 2 looked just like the ripped young runners on either side of him, chiseled from head to toe. Yet there was a subtle difference in his demeanor. Cool and measured, he didn’t leap up and down like the others before settling into his blocks. “On your marks,” boomed the starter. Taking his sweet time, the man eased his lean frame into position for the open 100-meter dash at the Mt. SAC Relays…

4 Bears listed, with Forte listed #2 overall behind Adrian Peterson of the Vikes. I believe (or hope) Cutler & Hester wind up higher than they are by season end. Olsen is the 4th player for the Bears to make the top 100. When was the last time we had 4 players in the top 100 of a FF Offensive Ranking? http://www.nfl.com/fantasy/rankings

http://www.betvega.com/nfl/2009-week-1-nfl...eased-0769.html Bears are 3 point underdogs on the road to GBP. Not too surprised. http://www.betvega.com/super-bowl-odds.html Very little respect here, again, not too surprised. I would like to think we are going to kick some major ass this year with a revitalized defense and an Offense that will be for the first time in many years very capable of winning games and taking advantage of the field position our D and STs provide.

  8. I've always thought turning an undersized or speedy offensive lineman into a fullback was an interesting idea, but have rarely seen it done. Anyway, did we get our guy in the 7th round??? Read the writeup. http://www.nfl.com/draft/2009/profiles/lance-louis?id=237676 Thoughts?

  9. We have a QUARTERBACK. Yes, it is hard to believe. We have upgraded our OL to protect this excellent MOBILE Quarterback. Forte average ypc will benefit immensely as teams will not be able to stack the "Box" Forte is an excellent receiver as well. Greg Olsen will be HUGE as a target for Cutler, Clark & K Davis will also contribute. Cutler's buddy E Bennett should have an excellent year. Cutler to Hester connection should be very exciting, Cutler can hit him on those deep routes. Then I read this from FootBallGuys.com: Then you add in our sleeper WR from the 7th Rd. This could be very interesting!!!!!!

  10. Simeon Rice Still Wants To Play Football Posted by Mike Florio on May 5, 2009, 5:52 a.m. Former NFL defensive end Simeon Rice still wants to be something other than a former NFL defensive end. After being out of the game for an entire season, Rice still wants to play. In a recent interview with WQYK radio in Tampa, Rice asserts that he can still get it done. “Right now, if I was to put on a helmet, I’m automatically in the top five in this league at that spot,” Rice said. “I want to say I’m the number one guy, I’m the king, baby. But I’m not gonna say that because that’s always an earned spot. So I’m humble enough to say, ‘You know what? I gott…

So Detroit just signed Larry Foote, formerly of the Steelers. He's still pretty young (29) and a great player; the Steelers just didn't have the cap room to keep him, and his backup (Lawrence Timmons) played well and is cheaper. Barring something incredibly unforeseen, Foote will be the Lions' starting Mike linebacker this season. I'm starting to get a little worried about Detroit. Here are their additions this offseason, with my notes: Larry Foote, MLB - Very hard-hitting downhill linebacker. Great against the run, adequate in pass coverage. Might be replaced by Jordon Dizon in the nickel package. Vocal and local - should be the face of the defense. Juli…

Gaines update The tight end has a Monday morning flight to Chicago to meet with the Bears' staff May 8, 2009, 12:33 AM By: Jeff Dickerson Updating our previous entry, both the Sun-Times and Chicago Tribune now report that Michael Gaines will indeed visit the Bears on Monday. Vaughn McClure of the Tribune notes that Gaines has a 6 a.m. flight out of Detroit, and that the tight end is leaning toward the Bears over the Jets. Gaines tells McClure that he was initially caught off guard when first contacted by Lovie Smith last Thursday. "I'm not going to lie, I was kind of shocked because of who I am,'' Gaines told the Tribune. "I'm a blocking…

Mad L got me to the podium as a Parcells hater and I stand here now to vent my disdain for what I think is an over hyped windbag so here goes; Hi My name is Lemonej Iam a Parcells hater(pause)(applause). With my confessing of this hatrid I hope to feel cleanse but I still need to vent. Bill Parcells had these HOFs in his group plan Belichick, Lawrence Taylor and Harry Carson. Maybe Ty Law and Jumbo Elliott. George Young acquired his talent at NY and he has only been able to identify one positon in the draft better than everyone else and that is rush LB. LT, Willie McGinest and DeMarcus Ware says he knows this position but his lack of patience for WRs and QBs lead m…
