This is how the roster could look next summer: Quarterback Here: Jay Cutler, Caleb Hanie, Brett Basanez. Cutler's the franchise, Hanie continues to mature in the system, and Basanez is a solid No. 3. With a limited number of draft picks, the Bears might not have the luxury of adding a young arm, but they already have three. Running back Here: Matt Forte, Kahlil Bell, Garrett Wolfe. Forte had a down year, but he's versatile and can be a workhorse, which he proved as a rookie. Bell is a more patient runner who appeared to have better quickness than Forte in limited but impressive duty. Wolfe averaged 5.5 yards per carry and can factor as a pass…

LAKE FOREST, Ill. – The Bears ranked a disappointing 29th in the NFL in rushing in 2009. But their running backs did provide some bright spots to build on heading into next season. Matt Forte rushed for 929 yards and averaged 3.6 yards per carry, a decline in both categories after he gained 1,238 yards and averaged 3.9 yards per attempt during a breakout rookie season in 2008. After just two seasons,…

The only blemish on his 2009 slate was a Week 14 "clunker" against the Chicago Bears when he totaled just seven fantasy points. Rodgers had 10 weeks with multiple passing touchdowns, helping him to finish head and shoulders ahead of his peers, finishing with 47 more fantasy points than the next-best signal-caller. Running Back Chris Johnson, Tennessee Titans (ADP: …

  9. Martz oozes confidence at first press conference Posted by Evan Silva on February 1, 2010 7:30 PM ET The Bears' hire of Mike Martz as offensive coordinator is being criticized in some parts and praised in others. At Monday's introductory press conference, Martz touched on some of the developments that led up to his new position and his plans for the Bears' offense. Martz felt an "instant connection" with quarterback Jay Cutler when the two met for dinner in Nashville on Saturday night. "That happened to me with Jon Kitna the first time I met him, too," Martz said. "This was very interesting because we were on the same page on so many things." …

  10. By: Larry Mayer | Last Updated: 2/1/2010 12:12 AM LAKE FOREST, Ill. – New Bears offensive coordinator Mike Martz loves the passing game, but he isn’t married to it. Known for his penchant to throw the ball in stints with the Rams, Lions and 49ers, Martz wants to operate an offense in Chicago that is capable of excelling both on the ground and in the air. Lovie Smith chats with Mike Martz following a 2005 preseason game between the Bears and Rams. “You do whatever it takes to win,” Martz said during a conference call with the media. “Some weeks you’re going to run it pretty good. The next week you’re going to throw pretty good. But it’s about winning.…

Recently I have seen an increase in the number of posters who are copying large amounts of text from articles found on the net. It is important to remember there are copyright laws that if violated could cause the owners of the forum major legal problems or possibly having the forum shut down. When you want to copy a significant amount of text from an article please do two things: 1 - Put the text in quotes. In the tools given above the area you will see an option to add a quote, looks like a word balloon from a comic book, 2nd from the right. Click on it and paste the text between the two bracketed codes seen inserted into your post. (If you do not want to …

I had seen some of Roger’s films, once I knew that I was going to be interviewed [by Corman], I thought “Well I better check out some stuff.” I was impressed by what he was able to pull out from the core of zip and make something of substance. And I met him for a film that was untitled. I showed up looking really bizarre. While some considered the position a weak link prior to the 2009 season, Devin Hester, Earl Bennett, Johnny Knox, Devin Aromashodu and Rashied Davis combined to catch 185 passes for 2,334 yards. It was the highest output by Bears receivers since they had 192 receptions in 2002 and 2,363 yards in 2001. …

Rolle expected to visit Giants Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on March 4, 2010 11:17 PM ET Antrel Rolle is taking full advantage of his head start to free agency. The latest: Rolle is expected to visit with the Giants Friday morning, assuming he doesn't sign a contract before then. Omar Kelly of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel writes that Rolle was offered a five-year contract by the Dolphins. Chris Mortensen is hearing that the Rolle sweepstakes will come down to the Giants and Dolphins. (Even though the Bears were negotiating first.) Soon-to-be former Cardinals teammate Darnell Dockett has an idea what's going to happen. "I just talked to Antrell …
