  1. Started by adam,

I can understand why DET is being projected to win the division in a lot of places. The easiest schedule alone will give them a few more wins. However, I have no clue why some projections have GB in 2nd. Everyone seems to be inflating players that have never achieved heights they are expecting. First, there is Watson, somehow, he is being anointed as a sure-fire WR1, yet he has never topped 41 receptions and 620 Receiving Yards but is magically going to hit 80-1000 this season in Year 5? He has also never played more than 15 games. To me, Watson is who he is. An explosive WR, when healthy, but more boom or bust than consistent WR1. I don't see him doubling his career hig…

  2. Went out of practice on a non-contact injury doing 1:1 with Kmet. Out 8-10 weeks (so will likely miss 1st 5 games of the season (maybe more). Hyer-extended knee, bruise and small bone break. Lucky this wasn't worse but still a huge loss. Get better soon Coby!

I saw this nugget from the Albert Breer article. Recovery is typically 6-12 months, which is a huge range of outcomes. We are 8 months removed from this injury, and 9 is the halfway point in the range. Could the Bears get Trapilo back in October or November? That would be huge. Plus, a lofty Colston Loveland comp, questions at safety and more.

Starting a new thread just to keep track of post game analysis on the new players. This surprised me mostly because I don’t recall having a Bears QB who the coach said doesn’t need more snaps to improve before the season starts Do I need to see Caleb Williams in the preseason? No, I do not. I see him every single day in practice," Johnson said, noting that Williams will be ready for Week 1 based on what he's seen during practice this summer.

  6. Saw a post on the socials recently where I learned #4 is in a contract year and an UFA after this year unless…the Bears resign him. So do they? I’m of the opinion ‘yes’ they need to. He’s done everything asked of him. Gotten better with Johnson and so far (knock on wood) has been durable. They didn’t draft any new RBs and aside from Monangai (who may have durability issues) there’s really no one left in the RB room. I think we all know for whatever reason, RoJo is in the doghouse and may have missed his potential. Aside from Chicago from being cheap I can’t think why they wouldn’t. This post brought to you courtesy or Maker’s Mark. 🥃 Da Windy CityBen Johnson's p…

  7. Huge news - way sooner than expected. Hopefully the momentum with Oz continues - he’s got a month of practices before season starts - even if he begins the year coming off the bench this is a huge step forward!

This is pretty underwhelming news I guess it fills a spot for the preseason and maybe longer while Turner gets up to speed Have to see the contract but hopefully it’s something we can easily walk away from https://bearswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/bears/2026/08/17/bears-sign-marcus-davenport/91340280007/

  9. Started by Alaskan Grizzly,

Seems like the way things are going we might need this. With Coby Bryant out, his new backup, Xavior Woods now hurt and just learned Monongai’s injury was worse than originally thought. Reports are that he hyper-extended his knee after (get this) Grady Jarrett tackled him from behind and (allegedly) ‘forgot they weren’t in pads.’ NBC SportsKyle Monangai (knee) to miss multiple weeksBears RB Kyle Monangai is expected to miss multiple weeks with a hyperextended knee, reports ESPN's Jeremey Fowler.

  10. Started by AZ54,

My focus: First has anyone seen anything regarding starters playing? All of my usual sources have nothing on it. LT - I listened to Tom Thayer yesterday and he said he hasn't seen anyone really take hold of the starting job at LT. I'm guessing this story continues even into the season as Ozzy works his way back. The only thing I can glean from various comments from practice observers is that Kiran is likely done. Wills might work his way back into the competition but that likely depends on his play today. Other than that maybe they just stick with Braxton for the near term to start getting continuity on the line. If Theo is the floor for all this well then…

  11. While some are not sure about drafting a DT early 3rd, I think it worth pointing out that, other than maybe Michael Johnson, I think any of the players many here wanted w/ that early 3rd are still on the board. The way this is going, I think one or more of the WRs we might have liked (Iglesias, Murphy, Barden, etc) will still be there at the end of round 3. Also, several OL (Duke, Merideth) are still there. Sidbury is still on the board. Gilbert was not going to last much longer, but others we may want look like they will. Plus, if we want (for example) a WR and a run begins, we have the ammo to move up and get one.

Jerry rolled the dice on Melton and lost out, IMO. I think Melton would've been available in the 5th round. Damn it.

I think they are pretty sharp with their evaluations, and their valve on our players are: 77th-Gilbert 82- Inglesias 83- Moore 111-Melton This is the overall valves, and I think we have done well with needs and valve of the pick.
