It doesn't matter if it's Trubisky or Foles at QB, these type of mistakes by the WRs have to be eliminated. https://twitter.com/BearWeatherFans/status/1261422572094119936

I was never a fan of this guy, and what he did to the Bears, but of course I am not happy that he died. RIP M McC. https://chicago.suntimes.com/bears/2020/5/16/21261255/bears-michael-mccaskey-die-age-76-cancer-chairman-george-s-halas-ceo-president-george-virginia-ed

https://www.nfl.com/news/phyllis-george-female-sportscasting-pioneer-dies-at-70 One of the classy ones. She was more than just a beautiful face in the 70's. Just loved the broadcast teams they had in a lot of different itinerations. Howard, I. Cross, Dandy Don, Jimmy the Greek and a bunch of others. MNF and NFL Today was worth watching just to see the highlites of the games you could not see anywhere else. She was always one of my favorites, period.

This season could be very interesting as different governors react differently to this year's pandemic. I say this year's pandemic because we have one every few years and most are worse than the current one. Anyway as I look at our schedule I see an away game in Week 1 at Detroit. That being one state where the governor refuses to let people sit alone in a boat. I'd say there's a good chance we don't have fans at that game and that's a big help for us. Later we have Week 7 in LA where we have another governor who is now worried about a 3rd wave of Coronavirus. That should be another great opportunity to see a level playing field on the road. OTOH I don't live in I…

Everyone has heard opinions on our upcoming quarterback battle. While all opinions are valid, some resonate better than others. I'll make it brief and state that I believe Mitch is the best case scenario. Foles had never started a season for a team and had a winning record. Everywhere he goes, he gets replaced. Why is that? Bad guy? Nope. Dumb? Nope. Not athletic? Nope. Injury prone? Winner winner chicken dinner! Foles simply has failed to stay healthy. He has never played an entire season, so what makes this year seem plausible? In comes Mitch. He's missed time as well, but seems to be built a little sturdier. Also, this is year 4 for Mitch, he at…

‘Borrowed’ this story on another site I saw about Roquan Smith. Essentially says of all the players last year who got at least 100 tackles, Roquan “only missed 3.8% of his tackles”. Putting him in the “top three” of the defenders last year. This after he only played 12 games too. Pretty freaking amazing! https://sportsmockery.com/2020/05/roquan-smith-might-be-the-most-disrespected-player-in-the-nfl/

So what do you guys think of the new 7-team NFL playoff format? I have mixed feelings about it. My old school brain says, leave it like it is. My new school brain says, cool, an extra playoff game. Some thoughts: The #1 seed is now the only team with a bye. Teams 2-7 face off in the wild card round with the 3 winners and #1 seed making up the Divisional Round. In a way, it does make more sense. It rewards the conference regular-season champ, whereas before, the 2nd seed was also getting a bye. So now the importance of winning the conference becomes even more important. The last few weeks of the season should be more competitive as more teams will be in the hunt…

He was an undrafted free agent that signed with the bears this year. I can't find any articles that show his age. Anyone know is age? Interesting prospect, 6-4 310 LG from Yale. Was an Olympic weightlifter from South Africa and started all 4 years at Yale. Also an all star rugby player. Watched some tape on him and every play he put someone on his back. He is addicted to watching film which should allow him to assimilate to the NFL quicker. He loves football, smart ( Yale degree) and hard worker. Sounds like player that could stick.

Kinda of slow now but I think June will bring some minicamps that will get the ball rolling. Seen an article on BearsWire on changing of the guard. Old starters:( end of year) new starters Floyd---------Quinn Prince -----Johnson HaHa---------- Gibson Coward----- IFEDI, Bars Burton------ Graham- Komet Kwit--------- Trevathan MT----------- Foles Williams ----- Hicks Gabriel ( 3rd wr)---------- ? Ridley, Ginn, Wims Lynch ( 3rd edge) Gibson If you look at the old and new starters, you would have to say the new group is a great deal better. Also take in consideration of breakout players like Daniels,…

I read an article on Sports Mockery with the suggestion that next year we could let go of Fuller. The opinion was based on his cap hit and the fact that if they do not have fans in the stands this year the cap number will go down by 12 mil instead of going up. We would save 11 mil against the cap if we would let him go next year. So if we have to cut some of our star players, who would go first? We have 28 players that would go into free agency and 11 players making over 9 mil a year. https://overthecap.com/salary-cap/chicago-bears/ Here is our 2021 cap hits. I think if we are successful this year, we would try to keep as many stars that is possible. …

Last Monday, the team had a zoom meeting in regards to the social injustice and police brutality ongoing issues in the country. Apparently, from reports and quotes from the players, they went into thinking it was not going to be productive, but it turns out that it really hit home for a lot of players. The team's bond strengthened and you could tell that some players genuinely felt like there was progress made. In general, that's great, and for a team that has to rely on each other on every play, that is also a great thing. Nagy has been trying to change the culture and I think that meeting may be one of those turning points, where the team was half in and half out on all…

I just read this article, and it makes an interesting point. Quinn played DE, and OLB will be new to him. I expect that will show most on keeping contain and playing the screen, stuff like that. But we brought him here to rush the quarterback, and Roquan has his back on that side too. And all of this only matters in base defense. We're in nickel about half the time anyway, and he will play four-man-front DE in that formation anyway. Im very optimistic about our front 7. Who do you double team? It's gonna be fearsome. https://chicago.suntimes.com/bears/2020/6/18/21296170/chicago-bears-chuck-pagano-robert-quinn-3-4-defense

https://bearswire.usatoday.com/2020/06/23/former-chicago-bears-safety-ha-ha-clinton-dix-had-close-encounter-with-two-live-bears/. Im sure most have seen this. But I have two questions. Where are there streets like that, is it his driveway? Car parked in middle, bicycles all over just leaning up. And what is a grown NFL player doing riding a kids scooter. Not a bicycle, skateboard. I little scooter.

Anytime a QB gets signed, Twitter goes nutz because the Bears sighed Foles. The Bears signed Foles the first or second week of FAgency. Dalton wasn't released yet. No way Winston was as a backup on a cheap contract and Cams medicals could not be checked out because of the virus. Coaches were familiar with Foles, he has been in the system before and had success at the highest level. If Pace would have waited until now to sign a QB option, fandom would been badmouthing him everyday. He made the right move at the time. NE can tack risks because that always win. Don't work that way for the bears.

I'm seeing that MLB stars are opting out of the season. I can agree with their decision, and feel that this is going to give a bunch of MLB wannabees a once-in-a-lifetime chance to make the big leagues. I wonder, with the way things sit now, will that spill over to the NFL? Where would we get "replacement players"? It would be a great opportunity for many borderline guys, but I remember the strike season and didn't like the on-field product. Great opportunity for new guys, but where would we get these fill-in players?

Average of $45M a year, $140M in guarantees. I get it, but man. Once this new money hits, how do they field a team worth a damn? Once Wilson's new money hit, he had one WR, no RBs, no TEs, and half a defense. This works out for the team on the 2nd half of the deal, but I would assume the contract is renegotiated year after year until another deal is locked in. A good problem to have, but has this ever worked out before? It seems once a QB gets paid big money, they never win it all again.

This news is a few weeks old, but it looks like most teams will start training camp on July 28th (in 2 weeks). Crazy I know. Also, it looks like teams will not bring in 90 players due to COVID-19 and because they won't have time to properly evaluate all of them and get the roster cut down in time. The consensus is that the NFL won't play any preseason games even though two are currently scheduled for late August. I would assume there is going to be a lot more soft tissue injuries this year if they don't have any physical contact build up. However, if that reduces the number of COVID cases, then that is the best move. So what do you think…
