The Chicago Bears have 4 players named All Pro. Seems like it has been a long time. "outside linebacker Khalil Mack, free safety Eddie Jackson, cornerback Kyle Fuller and return man Tarik Cohen have been named AP All-Pros."

If you get a chance, listen to this podcast with Flus. He sounds much better in this type of format. I wonder if it's the press conferences that he is just not comfortable with. Here he sounds much better and actually sounds like he knows what he is doing.

We were talking about Jared Goff, which led me to Cooper Kupp. I don't think people talk enough about his 2021 season (or the fact that he has lived off of it ever since). He had 145 receptions, 1947 yards, and 16 TDs that year. That was basically 1000 yards more than his previous season where he had 974 yards. That one season is such an outlier, it is crazy. He has only had one other season over 1000 yards. He is also already 30 yrs old. So in 7 years, he has made one All-Pro Team and Pro Bowl, in 2021, that's it. 2021 is also the year the Rams won the SB. They basically rode him all the way there. Then in the postseason he scored 7 TDs in 4 games …

I know it's only two preseason games but for many years we were in the mode of saying that the offense is behind the defense and by game 1 of the regular season things will be better. Keep in mind this is without Jordan Howard and a good QB leading the #1 offense. Plus we've played against the two of the better defenses in the NFL in Denver and Arizona. Cohen gets much of the credit but he's getting some help up front too. We're still getting new players up to speed as well in Sims and Shaheen, plus Long in at LG. Continuing with Lucky's recent research, the folks at ESPN (more specifically Grantland) have produced some interesting stats as they relate to the draft. http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/785360...-truly-valuable It's not all that surprising in some regards, but it does back up the concept that some positions are safer to draft in the first two rounds, and some have higher bust rates. TE is the safest in the first two rounds, and OL is the second safest. Similarly, no position other than QB drops off in production like OL does after the first two rounds. I think this discussion on Sanborn merits a new thread as we observe him over the next few games. His stats were rather eye opening against Detroit. 12 tackles, 9 solo. 2 sacks, and we all know he had a legit INT the NFL called back. When we signed him as a UDFA I was certainly happy to have him on board. Anyone here would have been very happy to see that stat line from Roquan. We did see that against Houston and NE but there were some bad games in between. To be fair for Sanborn this is also just one game but it did get me thinking if I had missed something about him. This dude would fit right in kicking in Chicago in the winter. I don't think we can wait to draft him in the 7th or pick him up as a UDFA. We do not have a 6th rounder so is he a worthy 5th round pick (#162)?

Good News for the Bears: Akiem Hicks fined following ejection Sunday against Buccaneers.

The 127 pick overall . . . I like Paea. I hope it's worth giving up a 4th to go up 8 spots. We must not like the 4th round very much. We seem determined to get out of it. Either that or we plan on trading down our 3rd to get back in it (that seems more likely) I can't believe we'd have taken Paea if the Chiefs had drafted Carimi. Weird. Weird, weird, weird.
