I haven’t liked an uncertain player a ton in quite some time. I remember being in love with Randy Moss and being told he was way too big of a risk. Well, I loved Skattebo also, and many were uncertain about him. Too slow. Bad competition. Won’t translate to the NFL. Even though he appears to be fast-tracking towards CTE, he could have been the guy the Bears picked to fill an obvious need. i wonder if the Bears front office even considered drafting him? Has anyone seen reports suggesting one way or another?

Despite our issues at WR for some reason I still lean toward fixing the CB/S position in Rd 2. That's not to say I wouldn't draft a WR there if the right talent fell to us. Maybe at this point I simply like the DB options in Rd 2 better than the WR options. Looking at WR who will still be on the board in Rd 2-5 I came across Justyn Ross. Physically he's an easy fit to step into ARob's role but he has some serious injury history having had surgery to repair a congenital fusion condition with his neck and spine. So after limited targets, they finally got Moore going. He now has 301 receiving yards (14th) and is on pace for 81 receptions, 1,279 yards and 9 TDs. This includes a game where Fields only passed for 99 yards. 15 of his 19 receptions have gone for 1st downs. He is trending in the right direction, which is nice to see considering the season.

He says that when he watched Nix on film he seemed to be on the ground too much. That is a big no no to DL coaches because they feel you can't make a play on the ground.

Sorry, I know this is not "Bears" related. Watching reruns on NFL Network today, a question came to mind that I'm sure one of you guys could answer for me. Are there any black place kickers or punters in the NFL? I cannot think of any.

Playing against the Packers will see the Bears have a 1,000 yrd rusher (Forte) because he now has 978 yards and needs just 22 to make the mark, and a 1,000 yrd WR (Knox) because he has 960 yards through the air and needs just 40 to reach the mark. Oh and give a big Bear hug to Cutler for being the first bear QB to make back to back 3,000 passing yard seasons and 23 TD passes!

Interesting move, they must like some of the younger Edge/DEs. They freed up even more cap space by releasing Attacochu. Pennel was signed by the Bears a few years ago, but never made the team. Seems like just another body for the D-Line.
