We choked in the first game and got our ass kicked in the 2nd. Prior to the season beginning we had the discussion of how long it would take for the Ben Johnson team to take shape. Nobody on this board said it would be instant. We agreed it would be between week six and eight weeks before the offense would click. We never really discussed how long it would take the defense. Defense usually happens faster as but we have had a lot of injuries to hinder the process. Who predicted we would win the division? None of us. Caleb got better this week. That's all that counts.

Playing against the Packers will see the Bears have a 1,000 yrd rusher (Forte) because he now has 978 yards and needs just 22 to make the mark, and a 1,000 yrd WR (Knox) because he has 960 yards through the air and needs just 40 to reach the mark. Oh and give a big Bear hug to Cutler for being the first bear QB to make back to back 3,000 passing yard seasons and 23 TD passes!

He says that when he watched Nix on film he seemed to be on the ground too much. That is a big no no to DL coaches because they feel you can't make a play on the ground.

How I look at the roster: We need a starting S to play with Bryant. I would say maybe draft two. There are 5 that I judge are scheme friendly; Theinaman -Scott-Kilgore-Stukes-Clark. Several that could be starter quality Mc-Warren-Haulcy-Ramsey- Wheatley Edge rusher, we didn't add anyone here. I think Booker takes a step forward. Dayo comes back. As we know, the national media or even our local media have not been very high on this team. Some preseason predictions had us winning 3-8 games, which we have already exceeded some of those predictions by Week 5. However, there is something else going on. I found this article rather interesting. Really shows you just how good Donald was at getting in the backfield, and how Jernigan should be looked at as more of run stuffer than a 3 tech. http://www.rotoworld.com/articles/cfb/4665...k-dt-metrics-10 With Houston potentially, or perhaps likely, moving inside on passing downs I wouldn't totally be against taking Jernigan, but I still would love Donald. Looks to be out for awhile or possibly the entire season. Crazy think players can get hurt outside of work and basically get workers comp. Good reason for a fire sale I guess. Clean house at deadline and reset for next year. Use this year for offensive development and to evaluate players.
