Yesterday was a fun win unlike last week! It looked dismal at the start and I thought it'd be a long day ending with Cutler leaving on a stretcher. Then, Martz the Mad Scientist, went to work and adjusted immediately! A real OC! Then we rode it all the way to victory! A few observations... 1. Cutler looks like the franchise guy we all wanted. It's only 2 games, but those are the games we've got. So far so VERY good! Next week on MNF (where we historically lay eggs with extreme predjudice) will be a true test... 2. Martz and Tice made beautiful in game adjustments. Big boy play calling. I'm not one to give Smith credit, but I will. He appeared to get…

Bears turn around and trade a 2nd round pick for WR Chase Claypool! Bears to get Chase Claypool in trade with Steelers Good move, IMO. Chase has caught 32 passes for 311 yards and a touchdown for the Steelers this season despite having an unstable QB room. He will be a great addition to help Fields. Bears Promote Mike Tice To Offensive Coordinator The Chicago Bears have promoted offensive line coach Mike Tice to offensive coordinator, Jay Glazer of FOXSports.com reports. Though Tice has head coaching experience in the NFL, he has never been a coordinator. An opportunity to coordinate the Tennessee Titans was blocked by the Bears last offseason. To account for a lack of experience at this position, Glazer adds that Tice will manage the running game and will be paired with a passing game coordinator, a situation occurred with the Arizona Cardinals, who had Russ Grimm coordinate the running game and Matt Miller run the passing game. http://www.macsfo…

It appears that one of our greatest running backs is speaking out against our latest running back bust and is reiterating that the players of today only care about the bank and not about the team nor the game itself. One of these days I hope that this trend gets turned around. Too many Is and MEs on this team and others versus Us and WEs. Saw on the Bears site some Q & A w/ Turner. As would be expected, not a whole lot of earth shattering news, but hey, its slow as hell, and I think others are getting tired of Lucky and my's back and forth Check out the bears site for full Q & A, but some of the basics. Hester - Felt the light turned on for Hester in the final 6 weeks, and said it was then Hester simply began to play, rather than think. Very high on his future. Bennett - Asked by Bennett couldn't get playing time, Turner essentially said the game was just too fast for him. Over and over again, continued to say Bennett wasn't playing as fast, or at NFL speed. Did say it often takes p…

With the potential to lose Adam Gase after this season with so many HC job openings projected to be available, who do you think will be the Bears next OC and why.

I'd love to see Forte have a 8-40/TD game. I'd also love to see Orton step up in front of Rex and to see Hanie play well again.

Up until now, most all the talk has been surrounding the top 4 OTs in the draft. Britton seemed like an after-thought. But his stock seems to be on the rise, and I am not sure how much, if at all, he would be considered a reach at 18 now. Assuming the top 4 are gone, should Britton be a consideration? Reading up on Britton was pretty interesting. As I can tell, there are two key knocks on him. (a) He comes from a spread offense, but I would argue that more and more teams are using this, and you can not dismiss players from the spread offenses. They may require more evaluation, but w/ so many colleges using spread systems, you have to still look at them. …

Ok, so here's my swing at a 53 man roster right now. The ??????? slots will be filled either by guys currently on the roster (in parenthesis) or by grabbing someone else's cast off. All this assuming no trades that take guys from our roster too. So lets talk - did I put anyone on that isnt gonna make the 53? Are any of the guys in parenthesis locks? Closest I see to that is Amagadje, but I left that one open in case anyone wants to promote someone else. 2025 Bears 53 Man Roster QB (2) Caleb WIlliams Tyson Bagent RB (4) D'Andre Swift Kyle Monongai Roschon Johnson ??????? (Brittain Brown, Royce Freeman, Travis Homer, Ian Wheeler) WR…

NBCSports.com's Tom Curran reports the Dolphins are nearing a contract agreement with Michigan OT Jake Long. The deal would make Long the No. 1 overall pick. The Dolphins began talks with Long's agent, Tom Condon, two weeks ago and never engaged in serious deliberations with any other player. Curran writes that with Long off the board, St. Louis is "a lock" to use the No. 2 pick on a defensive player. UVA DE Chris Long is reportedly "very confident" he'll be the Rams' choice

Sure, it is still WAY early to give a true grade to a draft that took place only a year ago, but w/ so much draft talk, what the hell. 1st round, 31st pick - Olsen Most of us still believe this was a great pick. Someone just needs to explain that to Turner. 2nd round, 30th pick - Bazuin We had a high 2nd round pick, and traded down. We ended up taking Bazuin, Wolfe and Payne w/ those new picks. Bazuin does not look like a good pick at all. The injury aside, he is 4th on the depth chart w/ little room to move up. 3rd round, 30th pick - Wolfe I hated this pick than, and still do today. While many will argue, what does it say about ou…

I may be in the minority but I like our schedule going forward. It's tough, that won't change but the sequence is what I like. New England--at chicago and after a blowout win I have the optimism that the pats will not be as sharp than if they had just been blown out. My concern is that what they beat the Jets with is what we used to beat the lions with. Over the middle routs in the zone. We have Urlacher to help that middle part of the cover two but if we don't tackle better than we are doomed. I still objectively feel like we have a great chance given that the bears have recently been playing at the level of their opponent. At Minnesota--we'll see if we are…

Are we still in QB Purgatory? This is Year #3. Trubisky is 25 yrs old, a year older than Watson and Mahomes. At this point, the lack of college reps is a moot point. He has the most NFL game experience of the 3. So that should make up for any lack of reps he had in college compared to the other two. Are we back at a place where we have a "he is what he is" QB? Grossman/Cutler, etc. From watching the game again from the All-22, there are just too many plays left on the field by Trubisky. I don't know the play call or the progression (either does PFF), but Trubisky is not passing the eyeball test. I don't know how he can't see wide-open receivers, or guys runnin…

On offense, Langford and Mariani have both made impact plays. No sacks so far for the o-line. On defense, Foster, Houston, Washington, Mitchell, and Jonathan Anderson have all been making plays in the first half.
