Bearstalk

It's just the first preseason game... We were vanilla... Had our two top offensive weapons out... Tommie didn't play... Saw a lot of things I liked... Gotta tackle better... The secondary is a concern... Jay's a gunslinger... I could've written this same postgame script after the first preseason game of all the Lovie Smith seasons. They always look like shit this early in camp. And he'll say "Of course" about 17 times in 10 minutes.

What I saw from tonight's game with our WR's: 1. Cutler forces the ball to Hester when Olsen's out. 2. IMO Rashied Davis appears to be our 2nd best WR. Not good. 3. Knox & Iglesias ain't going to see the field this year. 4. For all the hype, were Riddeau and DA even playing??? 5. Earl Bennett can't get open. I know the obvious excuses: It's just pre-season, blah, blah, blah . . . I ain't buying it. Cutler loves big WR's. Go get Matt Jones.

This statement came from the suntimes. When I read this it did not seem to me it was a throw under the bus statement. But then it would nt be Chicago if there was not some type of QB Controversy .

i really dont like watching our WRs at all. I feel bad for hester really, a guy on the other side of him would make him so much better. I wouldnt even bother covering bennett or davis.. http://blog.theredzone.org/ViewItem.asp?Entry=2556

I think that everyone agrees on AP at #1. After that, where does Forte rank?

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4406963 I have now lost all respect that I had for him. I hope he gets killed during a game.

The two NFC North clashes between the Bears and Vikings Nov. 29 in Minnesota and Dec. 28 on Monday Night Football in Chicago are suddenly a whole lot more intriguing. “Anytime you play against him, the ticket requests go up,” Ogunleye said. “All of your friends want to come and watch the game. He’s just that kind of guy. When I have my own kids, I’m going to say that I played against Brett Favre.” Favre owns NFL career records with 5,720 completions, 9,280 attempts, 65,127 yards and 310 interceptions. The 39-year-old also owns the league mark for most consecutive games started by a quarterback with 269. Favre dominated the Bears for a decade before Lovie Sm…

Bears | Omiyale appears to have won starting job Comment (0) Wed, 19 Aug 2009 11:21:10 -0700 Brad Biggs, of the Chicago Sun-Times, reports even though the Chicago Bears have not made an announcement, it appears OG Frank Omiyale has won the starting left guard spot. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bears | Dungy would encourage team to sign Harrison if needed Comment (0) Wed, 19 Aug 2009 11:16:54 -0700 ESPNChicago.com reports former NFL head coach Tony Dungy said during a radio interview that he would encourage Chicago Bears head coach Lovie Smith to sign unrestricted free-agent WR M…

I knew he would not get off scott free. I knew he would have to serve jail time. What is surprising to me is that he agreed to a 2 year sentence. What an idiot. All reports said that at one point, he was offered as little as a 3 month sentence, and if he accepted that deal, he would already be out of jail. Instead, he is only now about to begin a MUCH longer sentence, and while he hopes for different, in all liklihood his NFL career is over. Anyone still upset we didn't sign him?

Im at a loss thinking about how sad our WR corp. is. Not one veteran that accomplished anything at the position. I know its beating a dead horse but who gets the ball on 3rd and 7 that you actually have confidence in to catch it?

http://www.chicagobears.com/multimedia/mul...lip=Y&rn=12 Nice kid, seems like a modest hard worker.

Please advise when able!

Urlacher is doing a great job of getting to the ball carrier but he needs to start wrapping up instead of just bouncing off of the opponent.

Absolutely amazing what a real QB can do for a team.

pretty impressed so far.. we look like a good team..
