Another week gone by and another wasted opportunity to fire Harry. The Oline was horrible to start the game. The Browns were clearly mixing up the pass rush but still we need better from this group. Some running lanes were opened later in the game but pass protection was rarely seen. RB: I'm getting tired of Forte dancing around at the LOS. On at least one play late in the game Forte completely blew his pass protection assignment and got Cutler leveled. On one of his goal line runs he stayed up high and got stopped for no gain when he could have lowered his pads and gained at least 1/2 yard or more. Isn't this fundamental RB stuff? Just how bad does Fort…

My understanding is, this was the video seen at halftime, http://www.chicagobears.com/walterpayton.asp All I can say is, it was incredible to grow up watching Payton. You always hear your father talk about having watched this player or that player, but for me, when talking to my kids, there is no greater legacy to point to having seen Walter Payton.

Blah. Meh. Whatever... It showed nothing. We did what we were supposed to. We didn't really show we could move the ball agasint a horrid defense. The D had some turnovers, but most were gifts other than a couple really nice plays by D. Manning. It was nice to see Forte score and do OK, but I wasn't impressed. Here's a few observations from my couch... 1. Anytime Walter gets a tribute of any sort, I get a tear in my eye. Darn dust. That man is why we are Bears fans. 'nuff said. 2. Cutler is one tough SOB. The team is giving him no help, he's getting pounded, and still mans up and plays hard. Kudos. We need to HELP this man play... …

From his press conference today. "I feel good about what we’re doing offensively. There r sum things we need 2do a little bit better, which we’ll do & go from there" Turner blows, and if lovie doesnt see that then he should be fired.

I'm going to take a stab at this... Besides going Madden on this and blowing up our roster and trying to get picks, etc...I'm going to approach this as is. What FA are possible, where our draft picks are etc... I'll be utilizing this site for potential available FA's.... http://www.footballsfuture.com/2010/fa/ol.html 1. FA pick ups: OL - Keep on T (Williams), and one G (Garza)...the rest should be cut or traded. a. Logan Mankins (G), I want a winner, someone who knows what winning is like. He's only 27, fairly young. NE tends not to want to pay $$$$. b. Marcus McNeil (T), young kid. We need youth and he's also got some size... c. Justin H…

Three years ago it was Rivera. Last year it was Big Bad Bob Babich. This year it's going to be Turner out on his ace, which he almost certainly deserves. Anyone who tries "up the gut" so many times just to prove a point deserves to be out. These games are for real, not a flippin joke. But in all sincerity it should be the whole crew, especially Lovie. I'm sorry, but there ain't no way this crew of jalopies is ever going to get anywhere close back to a Super Bowl. A couple more years of this, and Cutler can kiss any dreams he had of being a real "franchise" QB good bye, whatever "franchise" means.

With the latest issue with LJ and the Chiefs it is highly possible that he could be avaiable and a change of senery could do him well. I think LJ and Forte would make a nice rotation. Would you trade Harris for LJ?.

http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/footb...0,4948801.story Coaches credited Harris w/ 4 tackles and 2 pressures after film review. Love how those stats always rise so much. Lovie said he was pleased w/ the play of the entire DL, and said Harris was disruptive. Was that everyone else's take? It sure wasn't mine. I thought were were going up against one of the weakest OLs in the game, and did very little to pressure the QB. Wale sure didn't seem to be capable of beating St. Clair. I didn't see a ton of pressure on the other side from Brown, though he got in there occasionally. But from the middle, I really just do not recall seeing Harris getting mu…

We've already discussed this here on the forum! Interesting read, even though as of late, Morrissey's been more Mariotti... http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/footb...,6568918.column Lovie Smith inanities deserve to be reported Related Is Lovie Smith on speaking terms with the truth? The plain truth and Lovie Smith are not always on speaking terms. Is that good for the team? Yes, if you can't say anything nice, how can you fill up a news conference? No, coaches should be critics (and critics think they could be coaches). Truthfully, I don't care what Lovie Smith says. Bears players support coach Smith Topics Super Bowl Ph…

http://www.dailyherald.com/story/?id=333919&src=148 Hell yes. Can't agree more, as I know Jason will agree as well. You just can not ignore OL in the draft as we have and expect to have a good OL. Adding FAs as we have, you might have a year or two in there where the OL plays well, but it will never see consistency. I would further argue against the FA route we have gone by pointing out the OL, more than most units, needs time to develop chemistry. When you add older vets who are not expected to have more than a year or so left, you just will not have sustained success. Even if Pace played better, he was a short term solution. It would be one thing i…

Coaching carousel will be a wild ride in 2010 .Mike Florio Archive|Email Mike FlorioComments (1)More Login or register to post commentsPrinter-friendly versionWednesday, Nov. 4, 2009 - 11:02 a.m. ET After the 2005 season, Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti had a problem. The team he owns had missed the playoffs for two straight years. Coach Brian Billick, who won a Super Bowl in his second year on the job thanks to a dominant defense built before he arrived, had demonstrated a chronic inability to develop a successful quarterback. And so Bisciotti was thinking about making a change. But if Billick had been fired, who would have been hired? Bisciotti conclude…

If anybody has watched GB, I think we can sympathize with their o line woes. Rodgers has been sacked more than twice as many times as Cutler yet GBs offense is ranked 11th while we're at 21. Rodgers is enjoying another great year stats wise Why? Because the guys in GB knopw how to maximize the talent they have. They are making that offense go by playing to the strengths of their players. What are we doing? Trying to make all our guys fit into Turners little box. Look, we can't fire our o line and we can't kill them but we can start using our other personnel better. Instead of having Cutler move around in a closing pocket, MOVE the damn thing. Let him roll out and thro…

Gould needs two field goals to become NFL's top kicker Posted: 11/4/2009 1:43:00 PM If Robbie Gould makes his next two field goal attempts, he will surpass Mike Vanderjagt to become the most accurate kicker in NFL history. Gould has connected on 120 of 139 attempts in five seasons with the Bears, an 86.3 percent success rate that’s just below the retired Vanderjagt, who made 86.5 percent of his kicks (230 of 266) in nine seasons with the Colts and Cowboys. The Chargers’ Nate Kaeding is third at 85.8 percent (133 of 155). “It would be a great honor to get it, but once you get it you’ve got to be able to hold it,” Gould said. “I’m not going to stop working u…
