Ced has been out the last 3 weeks. In week 10, rookie Scott gained on 33 yds but that was against Pittsburgh. Week 11 he went for 119 yds. LJ got the carries in week 12 and ran for 107 yds. This season, Ced is averaging 4.2 ypc, Scott 4.4 ypc, and Johnson 4.7. Me thinks the o-line, the qb, and the wrs make the running backs job much, much easier in Cincy. Peace

http://www.suntimes.com/sports/football/be...otash03.article Some of his points can be argued. I thought the paragraph about the Bears not being able to recognize talent was well written. Benson over TJ, Mark over Alex, go down the list...I thought they were goofy decisions (except Rex in Orton's sophomore since Orton obviously wasn't ready). Nor was I in favor of ANY of those early contract extensions, lol, which says more about my philosophy. As it turns out, I misjudged Lance's talent and yet I was right anyway since playing hardball with Lance worked out for us.

Pretty good insite to what is holding back a winner. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/chi-0...,6671947.column Dan McNeil 11:34 p.m. CST, December 3, 2009 E-mail Print Share Text Size As another year of the poorly produced soap opera "All My Bears" winds down, speculation on which cast members return for the 2010 season has been riveting. For the first time in a long time, the prospect of a new executive producer and director is real. Bear Nation is buzzing. Virginia McCaskey, nearing 87, can make her Papa Bear proud by pulling perhaps her last string to bring a precipitously sinking franchise back to respectability and regain the trust of a t…

Haven't seen a poll in awhile. So where does Lovie's performance stand this year from a pure HC perspective.

  9. Started by bowlingtwig,

Has any one seen this. The day before the Bears/Vikings game Peterson was caught speeding doing 109 in a 55mph zone. When questioned by coaches as to why he was late getting back to the hotel that night he said he got a "little" speeding ticket. Now its Berrians turn to burn rubber as he was clocked doing 104 in 60mph zone. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4716172

I wanted to solicit some opinions about the David Haugh article that appears in the Chicago Tribune today; I'd post a link but I am too technically deficient to do so. He writes as if he is Ted Phillips offering an open letter to the fans. His premise is that Ted and the McCaskey family is as angry as the fans, but blames the team's problems on the talent rather than coaching. As Ted Phillips he believes Jerry Angelo and Lovie Smith deserve one more chance to right the ship. He cites fiscal responsibility as a reason for this decision. Personally, as far as the Bears and the McCaskey's are concerned, the cost of blowing up this management team is less than the future…

"people may scoff but if we win out we will be 9-7" to which I kept saying .....and? or .......so what?, Has he been told or it's been implied that if we win out and finish above 500 it will make things alright and he gets to keep his job? 1. that is a pipe dream, we barely beat the hapless Rams by 8 points (who more beat themselves than we beat them) so now we think that we can beat GB, Balt, Det, and Minny. Dream on Smith, we will get 1 win maybe two if we can somehow beat Balt (Even Minny's scrubs could probably beat us.). 2. to what point and purpose would be accomplishing 9-7 in covering the fact that there are major holes to fill on this team includi…

We got a new dog on Saturday so I was busy entertaining her...I totally thought the game was at 2:15 (mountain time) for some reason and was planning on going over to the bar. I was watching the Donks game when I saw them flash the score at the bottom and was like "well shit" Its probably the first game I have missed in 10 years...and you know what I really don't feel that bad because it looked like one craptastic game...Thank you Bears brass, I am losing my Bear Heart.

  16. Started by jason,

Did anyone else hear the post-game comments about it being "Bear weather" and that the Bears ran the ball well? I'm paraphrasing, but he said something like, "Well, it's Bear weather, and I think that when you have a game like that, you have to run. We had to run, we did run. I think we had about 38 rushes, and any time you do that it's a good thing." Does he really think we are that stupid? I was at the game, and let me tell you...it was disgraceful how poorly the Bears played. To only beat the Rams by 8 points is unreal. There were countless discipline problems, again, and the offense was ridiculous.

  17. Started by jason,

This should be obvious, but I want to know if ANYONE is actually still defending this tool Turner? I said it last year, and it took another two full seasons before just about everyone was on board with the reality that this guy couldn't call a deadly, unpredictable, successful offensive gameplan if his life depended on it. I was at the game, and at one point multiple people in my section were yelling out the plays when they happened. It was uncanny how successful we were. The run up the middle was a popular play. Is it any wonder that when the Bears run on the edges it's often successful? It's because EVERYONE is shocked. Just like the 3rd down run by Forte for…

A year ago, perhaps two, there was a thread where someone proposed trading Hester. I think it was after his second season when he was about to set all sorts of records on KR/PR. At the time I was against it because I figured he was a marquee player and if the WR experiment didn't work out he'd at least be an elite PR/KR. Two years later I'm throwing that out the window. I see a team in need of a lot of rebuilding, not a total rebuild but definitely in need of some cornerstone players. Those players are only going to arrive in one of three ways: High draft picks, FA, or dumb luck. Why trade Hester? He's still a huge name around the league and will comma…

http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2009/12/cutler-3.html Report: Cutler may lobby for USC coordinator ESPN.com reports: If the Bears hire a new offensive coordinator in the offseason, Jay Cutler likely will lobby for USC offensive coordinator Jeremy Bates, multiple sources have told ESPN's Adam Schefter. Bates worked with Cutler in Denver, where he was an assistant to Mike Shanahan. When Shanahan was fired, Cutler told the team he would only stay in Denver if Bates stayed, according to Schefter's sources. Bates left the Broncos to coach at USC. Schefter's sources say that if Bates wants to join the Bears, USC will let him. I realize it says Bat…
