Jeff Garcia politicking to be Bears QB
I am sure Garcia would politic for this job. Why wouldn't he? The guy knows he doesn't have a job, and could be joining a potential Super Bowl team. The guy would be an idiot not to try to get a job here.

Will the Bears Miss Ron Rivera?
I'd love to see Mike Singletary brought into Chicago. If there is anyone who should be the D coordinator in Chicago, it is him.

The Official Off-Season and Draft Idea thread.
The Trib mentioned yesterday that the Bears would be interested in Steinbach as well.

Who's better? Mike Brown or Bob Sanders?
It boils down to do you take an injury risk 5 star player, or a healthyish 4 star player.

XLI worthless tidbits
The last 13 QBs on the losing side of a Super Bowl have never made it back again.

Thanks to TalkBears
For example, the Bears D had two third down conversions they allowed on the TD to Wayne drive. If they stop either one of those conversions, how different is the game?

The defense was on the field for 40 minutes because they gave up nearly 200 yards on the ground and couldn't stop the Colts on 3rd down (8 of 18!) Hell think about how many of those 3rd down successes would have killed scoring drives. The Colts very first score on the bomb to Wayne, came after two straight 3rd down conversions. How different is the game if the Bears don't give up those conversions (either one) and Manning doesn't connect on the missed coverage bomb? The D couldn't tackle to save their lives the whole game, and they got no pressure on Manning at all. The number I would really like to see from yesterday that I bet would be the most embarassing would be the YAC. I know the mentality around these parts is to pick one guy out and to perpetually blame them for everything from the Iraq war, global warming, and the Bears losing, but the whole team got their asses kicked yesterday. But if blaming Rex for everything makes you feel better, have at it.

Mike Ditka's Comment
IN terms of disappointment, it was no where close. I was so much more disappointed in the defense, it wasn't even funny. We all know that Rex isn't a world beater at QB, but supposedly this was a great defense. The defense was embarassing yesterday, and that was way more depressing than Rex to me.

QB Situation
Barring injury, Rex will be the Bears starting QB.
-
TJ, Benson or both?
I really want to see both of them back again. Really TJ isn't that expensive, so there really isn't a reason to do this again.
-
Alright lets break this one down
And even that was questionable because of the Reid fumble, combined with the great returns by Wilkens all night long putting the Colts O into solid field position on all posessions. The Bears never got the COlts deep in their own territory.

I can't believe it took 47 posts to hit the REAL problem last night You are this threads savior. Hear me say this. Rex Grossman did not lose this game for the Bears. The Bears defense lost that game. They could not stop a guy on the first hit all night long. I couldn't even begin to guess how many YACs the Colts RBs rung up last night. The Bears all got no pressure on Manning, so when they did pass, he got to stand in the pocket and shread the Bears D at will. The effectiveness of the running game, also made the rush much less aggressive because they had to pause to see if they were running. Yeah Rex had a shitty game, but the defense did nothing to get off of the field all night long. Really the Bears are lucky they didn't get blown out.

XLI worthless tidbits
In the previous 40 Super Bowls, 19 teams have been a 7 point, or greater, favorite. The underdog is a combined 2-17 in those games.

Should the Super Bowl be a nuetral site or a home game?
So what do you guys think? Should the Super Bowl be hosted by the best team in the big game, or should it stay at a nuetral site, under nice weather conditions, to elimintate home field advantage and the weather, in order to make it a more fair match up?

Keys to The Game
Two things huh, remind me not to use you as my CPA Anyways, the key to the game for me is the Bears have to win the time of posession battle. If that happens, it means the Bears running game was key, and Peyton & the Colts offense wasn't on the field.

XLI worthless tidbits
Its been well reported that Lovie and Tony Dungy are the first two black headcoaches to take their teams to the Super Bowl, but guess how many black announcers there have been in the history of the Super Bowl. 1. Bryant Gumbel in 2000 and 2004. Gee I wonder why we haven't heard more about this?
