Few Thoughts
Good thoughts... I pretty much agree. I didn't get a good look at Williams. But Webb really disappointed. I liked the running game a lot.

Good analysis... You may be giving Noots a run for his money!

Webb, especially given his role, really scares me. It's only pre-season game one, but that OL performance certainly didn't quiet any critics.

A thought on Forte
No until someone else is utilizing the draft picks... A bird in hand for JA is seriously worth about 4 in his bush. But, your question does bear serious thought. I wonder if, given the same touches, would Taylor have had similar stats?

So far Barber
Not sure I ever heard any "poster" rating Barber anything but good potential GL back w/ some concerns at worst... The Bears never let Payton walk. Amazing RB's seldom get cut. One's that do, deserve some scrutiny? And basing any true test of a any players' worth on one pre-season game isn't exactly the best way to go about that. I think it's awesome he looked good, but I'd like to see more. I get a kick how so many "posters" love calling out random "posters"... Name names. I can't speak for others, but my feeling never get hurt if someone disagrees with me. If you have issue with someone's post, by all means, call them out. It makes discussion and banter more interesting.

C'mon Obama! Really?
I hear ya...not sure I'm in complete agreement, but I get where you're coming from.

Enough!
I'm actually in shock. Pompei has been a puppet for the Bears for a good while now. I used to like him, then he got square in the Bears' corner and has been very one-sided to the point where I can't believe a thing he writes. This article goes against that. I want to see more from him in such a manner before I stop thiking he's still a pawn of the Bears.

C'mon Obama! Really?
Yes, but that's not the point... ...and it's still disrespectful to Cutler.

C'mon Obama! Really?
Honestly, it's more props to Rodgers. But the assumption is if you want to trade for Rodgers, you are obviously not happy with Cutler. I don't think anyone's questioned Obama's loyalty to Chicago teams, in fact, I've heard many a person say that they are tired of it. (Obviously not Chicago fans...) Although last I checked, the Cubs play in Chicago... Just sayin'... I'm not a baseball guy, so I don't harbor the ill will that the North and South have... I contend we are all Bears fans. I'm just saying it's disrespectful to Cutler.

C'mon Obama! Really?
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/...bears/#comments Packers make their White House visit, Obama wants Rodgers on the Bears Posted by Michael David Smith on August 12, 2011, 3:17 PM EDT APBears fan Barack Obama welcomed the Super Bowl champion Green Bay Packers to the White House on Friday, and in his comments congratulating the team, he made special mention of Charles Woodson and Aaron Rodgers. During the Packers’ run to the Super Bowl, Woodson complained about Obama openly supporting the Bears. Woodson used that as a motivational tool then, and Obama mentioned it today. “I gave Charles a little bulletin-board material last year,” Obama said of his vocal support of the Bears. “Charles said if the president doesn’t want to come watch us at the Super Bowl, then we’re going to him. . . . Charles, you’re a man of your word. And I’ve learned something that every NFL quarterback knows: Don’t mess with Charles Woodson.” In his address to the team, Obama noted the special relationship that the Packers have with Green Bay. “Today 112,000 people own a piece of this franchise — it is the only publicly owned team in pro sports,” Obama said. “Even a Bears fan can admit that the relationship between Green Bay and its team is something special.” Woodson then presented Obama with a stock certificate making him a team shareholder. That gave Obama a chance to congratulate Rodgers — and take a shot at Bears quarterback Jay Cutler. “If I’m a part owner,” Obama said, “I think we should initiate a trade to send Rodgers down to the Bears.”

SI Long Cutler Interview
Exactly! And by the way, he doesn't have to do all that. All he has to do is come ready to play football and play well. Which, given all else, he has. He can be better, but he looks to be working on that too.

2011 Official TalkBears Fantasy Football Check-in
Damn! I did that badly last year? My selctive memory thought I at least made it to second worst! Have we determined an exact draft day and time? Also, is there a list of players on roster to pick the keeper from? or is that on the yahoo site?

Anyone worried about Cutler's weight
Not in the the least... I'm thrilled! Fat doesn't pad the beating you take as much as you think! I can vouch for that as I'm fairly fat and took my share of licks as a youth on the field. Muscle pads the beating. Looks at the beating the a guy like Steve Largent took? I seriously doubt he was on HGH due to his diabetes...but one never really knows. It's possible, but I'd give him the benefit of the doubt. Becasue he didn't look like the Hulk, he looked a little chubby around the face and neck. I don't believe he lost muscle mass from the pics I've seen. He just looks to have lost fat. Assuming he did so by both diet and excercise, I would imagine he has more muscle mass.

Buffalo Bills @ Chicago Bears, 8/13/11
that's the key right there! I'd like to see the OL get some more time...but not at the risk of injury.
