  1. Well said... The D was the biggest disappointment. And they are the unit that I'm least concerned about. They'll right the ship. I was impressed by another smart day of playcalling. We ran, and ran well. Cutler played smart again. Next week will be a big test. I don't expect a win, but I expect to try to either give Brady some trouble or try to match them blow for blow with the return game maybe making the difference.
  2. It's pretty exciting to think what the D could do if we can keep up our health and keep improving!
  3. Don't feel too sorry! He's probably made more than all of us on this board combined!
  4. Only winning the SB will give us respect. Otherwise, they'll all be "right". "See, the Bears were all smoke & mirrors and got bounced in the playoffs". Winning it all solves it all. Anything less, and the naysayers save face. Even if we beat all those teams, we probably did so with help from the refs, lucky bounces, etc... They can rationalize any outcome. Only winning the big one would make them admit mistakes, even though I'm sure some would say we were still lucky. Which may be the case. Kind of like PIT beating SEA in the SB a few years back. No one's returning the trophy though...
  5. That's just dummin' on Anderson's part. You basically said it...all he had to say was..."You know, I wish I could remember the joke. But given that we we were playing horribly and feeling bad about it, Deuce and I attempted some levity to try to bury our feelings of disgust in our playing. We probably should have saved for the locker room." End of story...
  6. No. I just took it to mean that we here on this board know all the weaknesses. There is nothing to expose. Dilhole comes off like it's some monumental secret that our D isn't a mix of the '85 Bears/the Steel Curtain/ and the 2000 Ravens. Our D has weaknesses, like every single other D in the league. If some team wants to play the perfect scheme against our weaknesses, they can give it a whirl. Only a handful of teams can do it (Pats, Falcons, etc...). But if we can match them blow for blow, we have a good shot at winning. Now, I'm not quite sure we can do it...but we have shown that we can do it. The question will be can we keep it up or do it when it matters most?
  7. Very true. Much of the Eagles' successes have been due to the big play. We simply took that away. Probably the only time in the past 5 years I didn't mind dbacks playing back...
  8. Kind of how his dumb ass got lucky playing with one of the best defenses off all-time...
  9. I'll keep trying for all our Bears fans in the service!
  10. He's wrong. What's to expose when we already see it? The Bears are not great, but they are opportunistic. If the trend continues, the Lombari could bounce right into our laps.
  11. In other news, Dilfer will be exposed in front of Favre.
  12. He's pulling a Scarecrow and is still looking for a brain...
  13. I put my vote in... What the heck do people want to see the Bengals and Saints? It should be lopsided. If it were the Falcons and Bucs, at least they are 2 winning teams...
  14. Cutler's been getting ripped all year long about not caring...so I don't mind a little piss n' vinegar! Thankfully, it didn't cost that much in the big picture...
  15. Respect game... If the Bears win, some accolades will finally start coming. If they lose, more will pour into the "they haven't beaten anyone" bowl. Play hard, play smart...and the Bears have a chance of winning this.
  16. Has he taken over the Alex Brown role? Maybe not best skill, but great effort?
