  1. I'm in. Let me know the info... Where to send the check, all the login, etc... And which keepers I'm inheriting. Thanks!
  2. I believe they are...but I am not certain. My worst fears imagined...Wayne Fontes, here we are.
  3. Chicago has tired of Lovie Smith's happy talk Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on July 30, 2010 10:20 AM ET Bears coach Lovie Smith is unfailingly, unflappably, nice. Much like his mentor Tony Dungy, he rarely has a negative public word about his team. Bears scribes that have watched the team deteriorate into mediocrity the last few years have had about enough of the happy talk after another sunny speech from Smith to open training camp. Melissa Isaacson of ESPNChicago wrote Friday that "Tony Robbins doesn't have a thing on Lovie Smith." Smith was asked what lessons he learned from the last three years. He's trying to forget. "Those years you talked about, I have a hard time at 52 years old remembering what happens in the past,'' Smith said. "I feel like I know what's going to happen in the future. We have a good football team right now. I'm not going to look to the past an awful lot.'' The Bears changed their offensive scheme and added big-time free agents, but they've let their defense decay. And they haven't changed the culture surrounding the team. David Haugh of the Chicago Tribune wrote about eye-rolling statements and Smith's sometimes "corny" words. "Given the Bears' recent failures, eventually it becomes fair to wonder if the same voice we routinely have started tuning out publicly resonates as much privately with players as it once did," he writes. We are trying to like the Bears as a sleeper team, if only because they have a decent amount of talent and no one is picking them. (And because Jay Cutler should play much better than he did last year.) But a battle is brewing in Chicago between Smith and the media, and only a playoff season will keep the wolves at bay.
  4. Surprise: Olsen. He's been written off, and I think Martz could use that to the team's advantage. He's basically a slow WR...Martz, if truly a genius, should be able to utilize mis-matches. Disappointment: Chris Harris. I didn't think he was all that when he was here, and nothing really makes me think he's any better since. But he's an upgrade I think. I just doubt that the coaches (ie. Smith) will put him in at the correct safety slot...
  5. I personally wish they'd let up upload any song from your own MP3 collection. I'd love to hear Slayer while playing on D destroying Brett Favre!
  6. Drunk, I'm interested in the keeper... Can you give me more info?
  7. We won't get any love until we show that we deserve it. We look good on paper from our eyes, but most of the nation just sees us as a joke. We need to prove them wrong. Or change direction with a new coaching staff immediately after. And we need to show consitency. We seem to look good for a year, then falter for a few. Not that that's the case, but that's how we are perceived. And perception is everything.

  10. I'm staying away from LT!
  11. The only guy I'm worried bout for you in the top 5 is Spiller...and your D.
  12. Seems OK to me. I think some are rated a little low... D Clark I think is better than Manu, Hester is a little low, Omiyale is a little high, Forte is a little high, C. Taylor is a little low. I think Madden purposely lowered rankings accross the board from what I've read... By how we played last season, we should be thankful we weren't rated any lower!
  13. In a WR I don't mind that. In a RB, it's rubbish. Sweetness was the epitome of "never say die"!

  15. Thanks for the sip of Kool-aid! I'm high on this pick now!
  16. If he can be a legit FB, unlike the putz we let go this past off-season, I'll be thrilled! It a good thing to have a beefy meathead crushing forward either blocking or running! Something tells me Wolfe will somehow remain....
  17. Be preapred for the mistake...that's standard operating procedure for the Smith regime...
  18. Not sure there was a choice. Sacrificial lambs needed to be slaughtered. They chose Ron Turner. They had to hire someone... Marinelli was already on staff and Tice was brought in as part of the slaughter. In order to retain Smith, they needed to purge something. Otherwise a full blown riot in Chicago would have occurred.
  19. Fair enough. I think we just disagree on some of the finer points. I don't think it should be a crime, so harsher penalties don't really help the matter from my philosophical viewpoint. I do vehemently disagree about Twilight! It should be watched under NO circumstance other than a guaranteed romantic encounter with a top tier model! Making fun of it isn't enough! I make fun of it with ease, and I haven't seen anything but the miserable trailers!
  20. So true. So much is up in the air... ...and I'm not sure the salaries of there assistants are so enormous that they can't be purged with the influx of a new HC. And maybe, some of these assistants are also worthy enough to keep. At least some...
