Sorry...didn't mean for you to incur my wrath/rant! I understand why, and get that it's related to last season. I just think for PR reasons, they should have held off. No worries there... 1. Good to support an insane owner sure to mis-spend 2. There are still good folks there running concessions, etc 3. They have cheerleaders. HEAR THAT, VIRGIE? CHEERLEADERS!!!!

Not interested. He wants to start, and we're not a good fit. He needs to go to someplace like Washington...they'll pay and probably let him start.

As a consumer, do I want a price hike ever? Hell no. But it would make more sense when you're selling me promise and hope vs the Brooklyn Bridge. It would have made more sense. Something tells me the economy last year didn't really hurt the McCaskey's. I'm sure they won't open up their books, but I'm more than willing to assume they weren't hurting in the least. Can you give them credit last year, while still being annoyed this year? I think so. Last year was nice let's say, and this year "we're paying the piper" as you say. But I think you hold one more year. They've been getting slammed in the press. I'd have them bite the bullet on more season. Sell us on the price hike when there's something to be excited about. Heaven forbid the McCaskey's don't gouge the fans for a few more dollars. And how nice of them to let people buy season tickets on credit card now. The 21st century sure is something! Gotta put those 2% costs on someone! Mikey Boy needs his caviar and Bentley... They've shown nothing but disdain and pompousness towards the fan base this off-season. Why would I expect any different relating to ticket prices? I'll be happy to say, at least they won't get that ticket money from me this season. I'll consider going in 2 years after the strike/lockout and hopefully after the clownship of JA and Smith is removed.

Yes. We aren't a good team. If this were New Orleans raising prices, it's understandable. The product is better. Why are we paying Ferarri prices to see Pintos?
-
The market really sets the price. Stubhub,etc... But, it's just bad form on ownership's part I feel.
-
Bad timing. They just go done claiming money is no issue and putting out one of the cruddiest years in memory. Time to eat it, and let the cirrent prices ride one more year. If they bring in Cowher next year and say they are raising prices, well, that's just good business. Charging more for the same cruddy product is classless.

You are onto something. Historically, the med/training staff have been known to be horrid in Chicago. Butkus, Ditka and others spoke of it regularly. I'm glad he's stillkicking ass. He will always be a Bear to me...and one of the only reasons we made it was far as we did in 2006...
-
Amen! Can we line up Ditka, Connie Payton, Oprah and MJ?

What does NBR mean? Not Bears Related?

No worries! Just playin'!

Do you honestly feel that Martz would let Bulger be behind Hanie? Martz basically let Warner walk in order to give Bulger playing time. And that said, who's to say a pick or 2 in the end zone for Jay , and Marcie Marc wouldn't be the next starter?

Dammit guys! Keep this baseball stuff out of the football area! This is for sports, not pasttimes! Just ask George Carlin... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=om_yq4L3M_I

I generally agree. Haugh's been fairly pro-management, or at least ot that negative. Here he is certianly taking more aim at that.

Thanks!

http://www.aintitcool.com/node/44011 Capone: When you two were working together, did you feel like you were doing something rebellious or something that was feeding what they now call the “Counter Culture?” PF: Me and Roger? I had seen some of Roger’s films, once I knew that I was going to be interviewed [by Corman], I thought “Well I better check out some stuff.” I was impressed by what he was able to pull out from the core of zip and make something of substance. And I met him for a film that was untitled. I showed up looking really bizarre. I had a pair of glasses on that Brian Jones had given me, and they were kind of octagonal, but there was a mirror on the top, but it had sharp edges; it wasn’t gradient or anything like that. I wore an Office of Naval Intelligence–Chicago Branch badge number 7, which came from my dear friend Stormy McDonald’s father, Commander McDonald here, of the Zenith Corporation. He made the most expensive portable radios and the least expensive hearing aides, because his daughter was hard of hearing in one ear. He was an interesting man. I have a great deal of respect for the people of Chicago for their perseverance, also I have to have a fondness in my heart for Walter Payton, Jim McMahon and those great Bears players That was so cool. I remember when everyone thought that Sweetness was going to head up a team in the NFL, because he one of the nicest men I have ever met. I’ve met a lot of sports figures. McMahon was this hot head--wonderful--just what we wanted and of course he butts heads against Mike Ditka. Capone: That was 25 years ago that Super Bowl. PF: Well it just seems like yesterday.

I didn't see that. Did he mention anything specifically?

When we have the clowns running this franchise as we do now, every moment is "silly"!

Good point...

Looks like we have our man. Fits in perfectly with the ship of fools.

Virgie's in love with Smith. And I fear all us fans will pay dearly for that for years to come... I'd love to call them cheap becasue of that. But, actually, I think "stupid" fits the bill more.
-
That I get... Happens in my co all the time too. I was more commenting on the timing of this particular release... I would think it would have been better to get the new guy in to do his own research. If they trusted this guy so much to do this years', why let him go?

My advice, start drinking heavily.
