  1. Marques Wilson for me. He trained with Brandon this off-season and I expect him to be a huge asset #3WR and fill-in for any potential injuries/rest time.
  2. Amen! Noticed a fullback...#29 Jeremiah ? Wasn't familiar with him. UDFA?
  3. Holy Halas Batman! Here's my thought... If the team were that high on Ford, we wouldn't have added so many guys. There's something about him the staff doesn't like, and I think it's blocking. Lynch I think is the wild card. Maybe an H-back, TE, RB, FB hybrid...with the occassional trick play. He could also be special teams and be a kick holder. He adds an element of surprise then... I think Carey is the short yardage/Forte speller. Ford might stay as a returner/back-up. I think Draughn is camp fodder.
  4. OK. I love the idea of But-head's kid...but this guy is our guy. Between him and Robbie, we might have the best pair of legs in the NFL...
  5. Can of Jewel sauerkraut > Sauerbrun
  6. consider mine ordered! I've got every single one of McFarlane's Bears' figures barring the alt jersey ones.
  7. What, you don't like Sauerbrun? Ha!
  8. Ha! Hey, but if you brought back the Honey Bears, I think I'd sign off!
  9. I hear ya. Sadly, I think the game has changed a bit. Forte is no Walter. But he seems to be a good kid who gets results. It's hard to hate that. Sure, we'd like better results. But I really think Trestman will bring out his best. We only saw one season of that so far. I really can't wait to see more. Walter never asked to come off the field because he was basically a superhero. What an honor it was to see him be part of our team. There will never be anyone like him again.
  10. I thhnk it's Tucker. There should be more than a reasonable expectation that the offense will do similarly as last year. Obviously Cutler's health needs to remain intact, etc. Tucker is the really the big Q. Was it injuries or shoddy coaching (or both) that was the issue last season? I think this season will tell us...
  11. There's no other Payton. That's why I'm OK with Forte taking it close and letting someone else punch it... Makes sense to me. 1 Payton = 2 non-Paytons.
  12. Love it. Here's to Cliff!

  14. Can he get short yards?
  15. I'm singing off for the rest of the day...please feel free to pick for me (or have anyone else do so). I have Minny and PIT left. Then again, with Minny, you can just assume they didn't get their pick in on time.
  16. I admit, I have very little knowledge of college ball, and can't really assess who in college will be great in the NFL. I've been both right and wrong with pure guesses and with some research. Although I think my batting average is better than Angelo's (that one's for you jason!), I don't think I really have a good enough feel to make a solid call on who exactly we should be getting. So, with that said...this is what I expect... 1. I expect Emery to get the right guy. I'd like that guy to play on the D side of the ball. I'd like him to be either a DT or a S. But I'd be fine with really any defensive slot. There's a case to be made to fill any spot. But if some amazing specimin of a human on O is ripe for the picking, then by all means so be it. 2. I will not judge Emery hastily if the pick feels odd. We all thought that with Long. Sure, we did with McCellin too. But, I will hold disappointment. 3. I won't hold back joy. If the pick is one of the handful of dudes we've all been talking about in depth, then I won't help but feel really happy. It's what it should have been. 4. I expect not to be completely sober. Those that know me, I'm sure will guess that a fine Scotch will be in hand. In fact, I may go local and pour a dram of McCarthy's from Portland Oregon. It's a lovely peated whiskey from Clear Creek Distillery in Portland. They import the peat from Islay in Scotland. The distiller is a huge fan of Laphroig and Lagavullin, so he wanted his to be an homage to that. If you get a chance, try a sip! 5. I won't be checking in, but you all will be on my mind with the pick! So many of you want particular guys, that it'll be hard not to think of you if such a pick happens. Or doesn't! With that said, I'm closing up the computer for now with the possibility of jumping on late in the evening. I got out of my work obligation, so I'll be glued to the TV with another fellow Bears fan. A big cheers to all of you and I look forward to the discussion after the fact. GO PHIL!!!! GO BEARS!!!!
