No problem, there are a few posters here who talk crap about the Bears all year long.

The Bears have been quick to dump dead weight lately. I would not be at all surprised if they brought in another QB and promoted Hanie to #2, at least until the new QB can learn the system. I have no doubt Hanie would have done much better than Collins if given the opportunity.

No QB, Payton Manning, Tom Brady, A Rogers, (or even J Unitas, J Montana, etc...) would have succeeded with the lack of protection Cutler got. I cannot believe some on the forum are calling him a Pu**y. He got the shit kicked out of him. He was brutalized. He got a concussion, if you do not know what that actually means read up on it, we are talking a serious injury. NFL teams take this injury very seriously now a days since the seriousness of a concussion has been studied. If he had shown symptoms of a concussion at half time, the team HAD NO CHOICE but to pull him.

The play selection was a good call, Clark was open and should have caught the damn ball. If he had caught the ball for a TD would this discussion of Lovie's 4th down attempt at the goal line even exist? We failed, and the Packers took over on their one (or less). They were pinned way back and eventually had to punt from their 5 yard line. Hester finally breaks one for a TD. Not a bad outcome. Would this have happened if they had gotten good field position after a FG by CHI? We will never know. If we kicked the field goal and we kick off to GB, with the success Rogers had, and almost a full quarter with probably MUCH BETTER field position, do you think they would have a good chance to march down the field again? It is fun to 2nd guess Lovie now-a-days. But was it really that bad a call? I do not think so in this case. The call in Detroit, yes I will play armchair HC and question that one. This one, I think was a good call.

I think the Lions are going to be a lot better than they have been. I am quite concerned that we might lay an egg tomorrow. If their defensive line plays up to the billing they are getting, and if our offensive line plays as bad as they did in preseason, we will not get a running game going, Cutler will be forced to pass too often, and I smell an upset. If we can at least run block effectively and get some decent yardage on the ground, then I think we will be fine. I must admit, for the first time this preseason, I am getting a bit concerned. Hopefully the Bears will come out and prove my concerns unfounded.

He is not too smart as you usually do that by making posts in forums related to the product you are promoting. Needless to say I have deleted all of his posts and kissed him good-bye. Nothing like a little **** to end a conversation. Have it your way, maybe we play 40 games with 4 bye weeks, 100 man rosters, a Billion dollar salary cap, and a 2 week break between the SB and the start of the next season. This way we will not even need OTA's or Training Camps. There, see, I can get as **** as you.

I do not think starting 2 weeks earlier is going to "turn up the heat". It is plenty hot in September also, just depends on how lucky or unlucky you are as far as the weather. I have seen it in the 90's in September in Chicago also, and a cool front in the 70's in August. The players have survived games played in hot weather since the start of the NFL. Many teams have Domes, not just for the cold, but the heat as well. Earlier someone was arguing you can not play later in the year because it would be too cold, now it is going to be too hot if we start 2 weeks early? How many times have we heard of a player who we did not even know was injured, played pretty much the entire year, went into the off-season, all of a sudden announces he was dealing with a minor injury all year, decide to have surgery in March or April, then miss the majority of camp. We had two players miss a good bit of camp with minor knee surgeries that were not preformed until (I believe) April? And as far as competing with Baseball, the Cubs play their last game this year in October for Pete's sake, the World Series will be closing in on November. We have been competing with the MLB forever.

You are assuming the season would end three weeks later than what is now considered normal. Actually I think it would start 3 weeks earlier, or at least 2 since we would play less preseason games, so weather should be no problem. 3 Weeks shorter vacation time for these guys will not kill them. Half the time when they go for off-season surgery they wait a month after the season (why I do not know) and wind up unable to participate fully in OTAs (maybe that is why, LOL).

Excellent points, and with the additional revenue there is no reason they could not expand the roster to let's say, 60, giving you a chance to have more depth available to weather the longer season,.

I agree with no more expansion teams. Your the 2nd person who wants the season shortened?? Why in the world would you want to shorten it? In that case go back to the old 10 or 12 game schedule of the past, LOL. There is no way the season will be shortened, owners and players would lose too much money.

(When I grew up there was 12 games for the season and if you were good enough you got to play a 13th game in the post season for the Championship. That being said:) I am all for going to 2 preseason games and 18 regular season games. If you are going to risk the health of a player you are paying huge money to, then make the game count at least. The players share in owners revenue. Therefore the increased profits will allow players and management to profit. If they then install a salary cap on Rookies so that the money saved there could be used to pay players who have earned it more money, then all will be good. Those are my 2 items on my list for the current players/union/nfl negotiations.

I like the move. Is he a great QB, obviously not. BUT, he sure is a lot better than what we have to back up Hanie at this point and certainly has experience. The Bears did try for some other "bigger names" for backup, but let's face it, those guys did not want to be 2nd or 3rd string and we would have had to pay too much for a backup position to a very highly paid starter.

Most of what I have read does not refer to a bigger OL but instead centers on an OL that is far more aggressive and playing with much more tenacity and fire than OLs of the past few years. This is where Tice is so damn good, IMHO. Our previous OLC wanted guys to take the first step back into the bucket and then establish their block. Tice wants them to fire off the line "forward" and take the initiative away from the rusher. Tice loves mean and nasty aggressive OLmen. He also has a very low tolerance for OLmen who make stupid mistakes. He is going to pull a guy quickly and replace him if he doesn't like what he is seeing. He knows his rep is on the line and he will do everything possible to get 100% from our players. It should be interesting to see the final product once the season starts. I am sure there will be more changes made before then. It is certainly what one would call a work in progress.

Unfortunately, for years, that required a QB that could get them the ball on target. The jury is still out on Cutler, IMO, but hopefully Cutler with a new OC will be the answer.

Mike Tice, when he was a HC in MIN, was an asshole if you ask me. Maybe it was just because he was HC of a rival, but I pure and simple did not like him. As a OLC I absolutely love what I am seeing. First off, after years and years of OLCs for the Bears insisting on "steping back into the bucket" and "zone blocking" Tice appears to be on the same page as I am, aggressive smash mough football on the OL. Pancake blocks, kick the guys ass. Move forward on the snap and get the advantage. Secondly, he seems to actually evaluate players and develop them. In the past would we be seeing the emergence of Lance Louis and J Asiata? Both of these guys intrigue me. I do not know if they will wind up being starters or not but I bet you without the change of OLC this year we would not have heard their names being spoken except as possible backups or practice squad players. It seems like Tice does not take anything for granted and refuses to accept status quo. He is going to give everyone an equal chance and he is going to care less about draft position, salary, previous experience for the most part, he is going to put the best 5 guys out there on the OL no matter what and could give a rats ass about histrionics. I personally love it. Who knows what we have? I sure like what I am hearing from camp.

LOL, I know I am not playing this year and maybe I should keep my mouth shut but this is looking more and more like last year where we drafted and played the season without really knowing what the keeper rules would be and ended the playoffs not even knowing how the prize money was going to be divided up.

I love JimmyMac, I think he is a good piece of Bear's history. However, he was NEVER more than an average QB on an average offense. If he deserves to be in the top 50 Bears of all time because he was the QB on the SB team, then what happens to the other 52 players (or whatever the roster limit was at that time) that was on the team? Does that mean they deserve the honor as well because they were on the SB team? I would argue that Matt Suhey was a better FB than JimmyMac was a QB. Does he deserve to be in the all-time top 50? No.

If he had not been the QB the last year we won the SB most would struggle to remember his name. Take away that one year and he would not be in the top 100 Bears in history. Does he deserve to be in the top 50 because he rode the tails of the greatest defense of all time to the SB? I do not think so, I agree with nfo.

I was too young to remember him as a player, LOL.
