MIN plays BAL at home, Pit away, then GBP away in the next 3 games. I see them at 5-3 GBP plays Det at home, CLE away, then MIN at home in the next 3 weeks. I see them 5-2 CHI plays ATL away, CIN away, and then CLE at home. If we sweep, we are 6-1 and in first place. I think it will go down to the wire as to who actually wins the NFC North. We need to kick some ass!

I was just amused by watching him last night. Most QBs will bail out before taking a big hit, I understand that, but Rivers bailed far too early and could have at least gotten a few yds for his team. I remember watching on the sidelines acting like a little leaguer shouting at Cutler trying to rattle him. Rivers is an excellent QB but I have never liked his attitude, far before Cutler arrived in Chicago. It was no big deal. Just bored on a day off and thought I would mention it.

Anyone who watched SDC & DEN play in the past few years witnessed the matchups between Cuttler & Rivers and the verbal sparring that took place with Rivers calling out Cuttler saying he was a Pu**y. Well, looking at the games this weekend, Cutler mad a gut check TD showing he is willing to lay it all on the line for the team, and I saw Rivers take off up the middle when pressured and took a slide when a DEF guy got about 5+ yards from him allowing for no gain on his scramble up the middle. Who is the Pu**y?????

From what I was hearing on the Score this morning the primary problem in our coverage was in the middle of the field which Roach was responsible for. Roach does not have the cover skills needed to be a MLB in a Cover 2 defense.

As much as I would love to see GBP win over MIN reality tells me that in MIN AP will torch the Packers, Grant will be a dud against the MIN D, and both QBs are going to get a tremendous amount of heat. I think a better poll might have been which team gets the most unnecessary roughness penalties. This one is going to be a fun game to watch. I will be interested to see int injury report from this game. LOL

Anyone else happy the Lions got off the schnide this week?
Pixote replied to CrackerDog's topic in Bearstalk
I was telling my son-in-law that I was hoping the Lions would win this week because logic would say that sooner or later the losing streak had to stop and I did not want it to be in Chicago. -
LOL, I must agree.

I hear statements like: No one deserved to win this game. Reed & Omare both missed 2 FGs and we should be 0-3. We probably do not win at SEA if they did not have so many injuries. As well as many others questioning the Bears and not believing we are legit. I personally am excited about this team. And yes, I agree, if anything, I am concerned about our OL but hope as they "gel" they get better. Williams is basically a rookie and we may wind up replacing our LG with Beekman. We will see how it progresses. If it does not improve by bye week I expect to see changes coming in week 5.

We have an OL with 3 new starters that need time to gel as a unit and will get better as the season progresses. As they become a "unit" our running game and pass protection will only improve. They faced 2 3-4 defenses in weeks one & two and now have that experience under their belt as well. We have a very young and inexperienced WR group that is getting better and better as they learn on the run. Knox & Bennett has exceeded my early expectations and look like the real deal. Hester is coming up huge in critical situations. We are seeing a very good WR group in their infancy growing on a game to game basis. Cutler is still working to get to know the tendencies of the WR group. He had a rough start in week 1 but has been every bit as good as I had hoped for in the past two weeks. He will only get better as he helps to develop our young WR group. We went into week one against one of the best QB/WR groups in the league. We were still in the game at the end. I fully expected to get blown out of the water that game as I expected to see huge points put up against us. Yes, I was disappointed in the last 2 minujtes of the game. We beat the Steelers. I do not care if they missed 2 field goals. That is part of the game. WE WON! We do not need to apologize for that. It was an excellent win we should be celebrating. How many of us had that game in the win column with our predictions before the season started? This week we were playing away in one of the more difficult stadiums to play in. Many of us had this as a loss in our early season predictions as well. We started off slowly, yes. However, we got accustomed to the noise level and conditions and played excellent football the final 3 quarters. Yes, Seattle was missing their 3 time Pro Bowl QB. Yes they were missing other starters as well. You know what, we started the season with both our starting CBs taking limited reps and our nickle coming back from injuries as well. We lost our Pro Bowl MLB in the first half of game one. We lost an excellent starting LB in the first series of game one. Harris has struggled with his knee. Then we lose our backup MLB in game three. Last I looked injuries and their effect on a teams success has been a part of the game since the early 20's when the NFL was born. WE WON! This team is a work in progress that is going to get better and better as the season progresses. I am personally excited to see this team grow.

It wasn't changing the length of the season to 16 games that diluted the talent pool, it was adding more teams to the league that did that. I can't believe that replacing a meaningless preseason game with a game that counts for something would shorten the career of any player. IMHO As long as they shorten the preseason, I have no problem expanding the regular season.

Well most people are "not smarter than a fifth grader". Everone knows, even fifth graders, Lithuania is actually a small island shaped like a lemonhead in the Baltic Sea.

Has there been a Jarron Gilbert Sighting? I have not heard much of this guy and do not recall seeing him in any significant fashion during the first 2 games.

You know what, I met Johnny Knox when Gary (bowlingtwig) and I got his autograph and shook his hand at the Fan Convention. I certainly know he is black. I read TerraTor's post, saw the picture, and thought there was no way he could be related or it would have been mentioned on ChicagoBears.com several times by now. When I saw the photo it never dawned on me Ronnie was white and Johnny was black. It just wasn't relevant to me for some reason. I guess I am color blind. I honestly do not think there was any attempt at racism in the post. If I had smelled the slightest hint of such I would have deleted it immediately.

Congratulations. sounds like life is good!

On NFL.com they have a quote from HC Mora that he does indeed have a fractured rib. He refused to comment further. In addition it was noted that:

DaWebmaster's Family, Job, and Personal obligations led him to leave Bearstalk a good year before it finally closed shop do to the actions of the sponsoring host. I hope all is going well for Jeff. Isaac (ITC3) got upset at some posters who were calling him out for some comments he made on the forum. I know at the time Isaac had some major things occuring in his personal life and was under a lot of stress. He asked to be removed from the forum. I tried to talk him out of it and asked that he give it some time to "cool off". He never returned. I think he left approximately 6 months before the move to TalkBears. I too miss them both and think of them quite often when posting on the forum here.

LOL. I noticed that also, almost choked when he posted that and I read it. The problem I see is that if you are going to talk smack and throw spears at other posters, you have to be willing to accept it in return. TerraTor loves to dish it out, but becomes very defensive when the tables are turned. It is also ok to have negative feelings, doubts, about the Bears. Not everyone looks at the team with the "glass half full" approach. Some look at it with the "glass half empty" approach. I guess it is depending on your outlook on life in general among other factors. However, TerraTor looks at the team with the "glass totally empty, broken, and thrown in the garbage" approach. Then when there is something really positive going on he forgets what he has been spewing out and finds "my boy, Johnny Knox". LOL.

You can thank me. LOL I have McNabb as my QB in the 2 FFLs I am playing in. He is out. I have A Gonzalez in both leagues, he's out. I have Wes Welker in a league, he missed this week. I picked up Hasselbeck to replace McNabb, see, I told you you couldthank me.

There were a few wondering why Urlacher could not play with a cast, like we have seen some other players do with certain injuries. I found the article linked below very informative and was definitely worth reading. Urlacher Praises Bears' Medical Team

A few thoughts from the old man of the forum.... During preseason there was talk from some posters saying Knox would not make the roster and maybe we can put him on the PS. I think it is quite obvious to all that did not believe in this kid that he is the real deal. Tremendous speed, good hands, & gutsy. I look forward to see his continued development. There was also posters saying we should cut K Davis, we could not keep 4 TEs, Davis was the odd man out, he had not proved he was NFL worthy. He did have one drop today, but he made a lot of great catches in traffic and looked excellent today. I also look forward to see his continued development. Cutler stepped up big time today. He played smart. He knew when to take a sack and when to throw it away. He had outstanding pocket presence and should be a thrill to watch during the next decade in Chicago. Thanks Denver! I would not worry too much about Forte at this point. We have faced 2 tough 3-4 defenses in the last 2 games. Let's see what he does against Seattle. Gore totally trashed them this week. My money is on Forte breaking out next week. If he doesn't, then maybe I will get a bit concerned. Does anyone know the extent of Alex Brown's injury? We sure do not need anyone else on D on the sidelines.

I go one step further, we win the coin toss, Knox takes it to the house! (Bit I would be more than happy to accept your scenerio ;-) )

I heard that D Manning will start at FS D Manning will move to Nickle in that situation with KP relieving him in the nickle package Omiyale will start at LOG but Beekman will be in the wings if he has trouble Clark is definately out (I want to see K Davis get a shot!) D Manning may not return KOs do to the added duty at FS Good chance we will see Johnny Knox return KOs.

Congratulations Gary & Pam!

Exactly right. You can have a "simple fracture" and have no damage to tendons, muscles, cartilage, etc... In some dislocations there is a lot of damage done. The fact he had surgery Monday morning after playing Sunday Night tells me it must have been serious. Usually they do not operate that quick.
