What would scare me is Matt Millen coming to Chicago. He is the reason behind the colapse of the Lions, THANKS MATT!

Look, Lovie, Martz, Tice, Marinelli, Angelo, etc... They are all going to fight like hell to keep their jobs, they do not want to be seeking other positions next year. I do not know if they will be successful in righting the ship or not but I can guarantee you they will do the best damn job they can. Now are they capable of the job? I honestly do not know. It is not all on them. The players have to remain healthy and perform up to their abilities also. The only thing we can do is sit back and see what happens. I stongly expect for some new players to be brought in via FA. We have done so in the past. With what would appear to be an uncapped year I believe if a player becomes available that will help turn things around we will go after him. I do not believe it will be on the O unless an OL comes free that would work for us. I think most of the players brought in will be on D. I am certainly not entertaining the idea of going and becoming a Bronco or Charger fan. That really pisses me off when posters say they should go and be a fan of another team because the Bears are not making the moves they want them to do. GO, by all means, GO, and when the Bears are back on top again, I am sure you will return. Ride that Bandwagon. I could give a shit. I am anxious now for FA to start and see what happens. Then the draft. Then the preseason camps and games. Then once the season starts and we see what kind of product we have on the field, then I will make judgement on the offseason moves. It is way too early to make an evaluation of our offseason at this point.
  3. Interesting Article about the evolution of the cover 2 in INDY as I would expect this would influence Williams if he were hired as our DC. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/footb...0,1482834.story
  4. I agree. I expect a top 10 offense. I also think our defense will be greatly improved.

http://www.49ers.com/team/coaches/shane-da...87-4943112ef4c4 I do not see anything to be excited about but hey, QB coach, ???? I can only assume Martz knows him from SF and thinks he can do the job, if indeed that is who we hire. My guess is Martz will in effect be the QB coach and whoever is hired in that position will be just around to shine Cutlers shoes and fetch gatorade.
  6. Devin A is going to be our #1, bash me for all you want, I am thick skinned, but I honestly believe, as long as he stays healthy (even during the preseason when they need to learn this new system), Devin A will put up big numbers this year, #1 numbers, with Knox, Bennett, & Hester getting good stats as well. This is going to be fun to watch!
  7. Wouldn't that be of a question about Tice instead of Martz? I am pretty sure, from what I have seen, Tice has them fire out, old school smash mouth football. None of this pansy step in the bucket routine, not the "zone" blocking routine, just plain and simple get in your face and get ugly. I sure hope I am right because that is the way I played OT when I was a young'n and that is what I would like to see happen. Slobberknocker football. Pancakes anyone???
  8. That is why I like Kampman more, he does not take off and disappear like Peppers.
  9. I consider a "short" pass to a RB out of the backfield or in the flat the same as a running play. It is just a "looooonger" handoff, LOL.
  10. In the beginning of the season it was widely reported that several GBP D players were not thrilled with their new roles in the 3-4 and Kampman was the most vocal. As the season progressed he became less "public" but I have to believe if he could go to a 4-3 that would utilize his strengths better he would be a happy camper.
  11. Recently I have seen an increase in the number of posters who are copying large amounts of text from articles found on the net. It is important to remember there are copyright laws that if violated could cause the owners of the forum major legal problems or possibly having the forum shut down. When you want to copy a significant amount of text from an article please do two things: 1 - Put the text in quotes. In the tools given above the area you will see an option to add a quote, looks like a word balloon from a comic book, 2nd from the right. Click on it and paste the text between the two bracketed codes seen inserted into your post. (If you do not want to use that tool at least put the copied text you are pasting in a different color or font so the reader knows what section is from a copyrighted article). 2 - It is also very important to copy the link to the article and include it in the post. You can simply copy the URL and paste it or use the link tool (looks like a green arrow with a + sign) to add the link. If you are going to just quote one line from an article, no big deal. If you are going to quote one small paragraph, just make sure you say where it came from. BUT, IF YOU COPY A LARGER SECTION, OR THE ENTIRE ARTICLE, PLEASE FOLLOW THE RULES I MENTIONED ABOVE. I can not stress how important this is. We do not want to lose another forum and have to search for another home.
  12. Although I like Pepper, I like Kampman even better. He does not fit into their new 3-4 as well as they had hoped. He would fit right in with our scheme. With him in a 4-3 we would have what we want in a DE to pressure the QB.
  13. LOL, I can only hope
  14. .........or throwing for 4500 yds, 40 TDs and 5 INTs
  15. Shoop, you have to be joking? Look at it this way, our offense is going to be kick ass and we will win our division (which is what we all want) OR we will flop again and we will get a new HC (which is what most of us want).
  16. I would love to see the Bears make the move. He is the type of player who would automatically elevate the play of our DL. I was watching ESPN earlier and they were mentioning they thought he would be an UFA this offseason. I am sure the bidding war will be intense. Let's hope he fits within our cap space and we go after him.
  17. I knew he was fast, but did not realize he was able to run that fast!
  18. First we are complaining we are scrapping the bottom of the barrel interviewing OCs that have limited experience or credentials then we are complaining about interviewing an OC that certainly has a good resume just because, I assume, he has ties to Lovie. Does having an association with Lovie automatically disqualify you for a position with the Bears? If he tries to run the greatest show on earth here he will fail. We all know that. However, I would like to think he is smart enough to adapt his offense to what talent he has around him. I would like to think that if the Bears brought in Tice for the OL it means we still want to play smash mouth football on offense. I do not know if we will hire this guy or not. I would like to wait until after the SB and try and interview some candidates from those two teams. However, if we wait, then the Bears (according to many) are inept because they have taken too long. Guess there is not a damn thing the Bears management can do at this point to satisfy anyone, short of a total house cleaning, which will not happen, so we might as well stop thinking about that until we see what happens in the 2010 season.
  19. Is it as much JA not providing the Bears with the proper talent or the coaching staff being unable to develop that talent and utilize the skills of the players being drafted? Drafting is certainly not an exact science and all GMs screw the pooch on their selections more often than they would like to admit. In the case of the 2 guys you mention, Rex and Cedric. We may never know if Rex was that bad or if he was just screwed up with the way he was worked with over the course of his stay in Chicago. I thought the way they tried to develop him his rookie year was totally stupid, allowing him to start one or two series a game. Then look at the Offensive offensive coordinators and coaching he had that were used to develop him, Ughhh. Cedric never ran with the passion and skills we envisioned when we drafted him. We wound up letting him go. Now look what he is doing in CIN with different position coaching & OC. Harris was an outstanding selection by JA, then he became injured and seemed to lose his passion for the game. Is that JA's fault? Colombo was an outstanding selection. He had a serious injury and it seemed as if he would never recover from the injury so an injury settlement was made. Since then he has worked out pretty good in Dallas. Some of his selections in later rounds have been outstanding. If you want to knock JA for his selection of LS as HC, fine. However, I believe any HC is only as good as his Coordinators and position coaches. Lovie's main problem is he has done a lousy job of evaluating those he has brought in to fill those positions. In the past those choices have been left up totally for Lovie to make. It seems like JA has decided it is time for him to help in that process. Hopefully we get it right this time around.
  20. There are some interesting details on the Tribune site in this article: http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/footb...0,3129808.story I like the list of OCs he has been tutored by. I have to believe this means he will utilize G Olsen and will help him develop. That would be refreshing as I never felt Turner was able to do this.
  21. WoW, after reading what Marty had to say about Chud, how could you not like him as our OC? Not to show my stupidity, what type of offense do you think he would run here? Hopefully West Coast as this is what Cutler is experienced in and the transition of OCers would be smoother.
  22. http://blogs.suntimes.com/bears/2010/01/ga...should_hir.html
  23. Does not matter to me.
  24. .... Or all given extensions after we win the Super Bowl, LOL.
  25. But now I am worried, OMG, does it matter if we hire the OC first or do we need to hire the DC first or do we need to hire all the position coaches first or or or????
