Chud Will Interview Today and Tomorrow
There are some interesting details on the Tribune site in this article: http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/footb...0,3129808.story I like the list of OCs he has been tutored by. I have to believe this means he will utilize G Olsen and will help him develop. That would be refreshing as I never felt Turner was able to do this.

Chud Will Interview Today and Tomorrow
WoW, after reading what Marty had to say about Chud, how could you not like him as our OC? Not to show my stupidity, what type of offense do you think he would run here? Hopefully West Coast as this is what Cutler is experienced in and the transition of OCers would be smoother.

Paul Hackett as our OC????

Chud Will Interview Today and Tomorrow
But now I am worried, OMG, does it matter if we hire the OC first or do we need to hire the DC first or do we need to hire all the position coaches first or or or????

Bears Interview TE Candidate
I can't believe we are still dissing Lovie over his hiring of some position coaches before his coordinators. It is not unprecedented. It is not that big a deal, IMO. Fun to diss Lovie I guess? Gee, did everyone know Lovie is right handed but when he dresses he ties his left shoe first and and and it is reported by some of the "Beat=off" writers who dig deep for info to smear Lovie with that he he he wipes his ass with his left hand? Guess this proves Lovie is a schizo and can not be trusted.

Bears Interview TE Candidate
Heck, in Dallas they hired the OC before they hired the HC, ;-) They at least made it to the playoffs and won their first game against PHI before losing to MIN

Fantasy Question
Nothing has yet to be finalized, I guess. I think I have made my decision, I am going to withdraw from the league and will not participate in it next year. Payouts, keeper rules, draft order for subsequent years, etc... all of this should have been decided before the leagues first draft. Payouts should have already been made. Do not get me wrong. DrunkBomber is a stand up guy and I am sure that he will get it all worked out eventually. I am just a guy that likes a bit more of an organized adventure, LOL. Best of luck to all of you who continue the league. I am sure you will have no trouble in replacing me in the league. It was fun and I appreciate DrunkBomber's time in running the contest.

Pixote-Status of an old member
Jeff is one great guy. He and I have not exchanged emails for quite some time. I last heard from him just before the move to TalkBears. I was trying to encourage him to come back and reassume his rightful role as DaWebmaster. He told me personal family issues, work, & Church were all he could handle at that time. I agree, I miss him as well as many of the old posters that failed to migrate to the new forum.

Is it odd?
Yes, Turner did indeed recommend Heisted and Lovie took his advice and we got a terrible OL coach as a result. Maybe that is why he decided to make some of the position coach decisions on his own this time?

Zombie Smith to U of Tenn.?
Yep, for every Virginia M there is always an Al Davis.... Yep, for every Jerry Angelo there is always a Matt Millen.... etc... etc... etc...

Is it odd?
I never remember Coordinators hiring the position coaches under them. I guess some might make recommendations or voice opinions, however, I think every HC of the Bears dating back for longer than I would like to admit (I am old enough to be the Grandpa of some of you) have made those hires with or withot the coordinator being yet determined.

Cutler interviewing the candidates
Another loser in my book is Steve Rosenbloom of the Tribune. In an article speculating on Lovie going to UT (never happen IMO) he ends his article with these words of wisdom??? which I also read in several previous articles he has written, so this is not the first time he has offered this opinion:

Cutler interviewing the candidates
I think it is a smart idea myself. It is scary IMHO for us to be changing OC position with a QB which is arguably the future of this franchise. I think it is imperative he is comfortable with the system the new OC brings in. I do not want to see a radical change in systems. I want to see something in the West Coast variety, a system Cutler is accustomed to. The problem was not in the system that we were using but the way it was being implemented by Turner. I am sure he is being asked for his opinions but I am also sure he does not have the final say by any means. I do not think there is anything this Bears organization can do that will not be criticized and ridiculed. There are beat reporters and web sites that are flat out saying they hope the Bears do not win one single game next year to force a complete reorganization. That makes me sick and totally pissed off. Instead of hoping the Bears go winless next year, I hope with the changes being made the bears go 19-0, all the way to the Super Bowl, and prove that this organization made the right choices. It will spoil all the fun for those wanting to say "I told you so" but I would certainly enjoy it a lot better than the alternative.

Now it is final, Fewell goes to the Giants as DC
I have no doubt it was a decision based on job security. The good thing is there are few DC & OC open this year and as a result we will basically have the pick of the crop. Oakland may fire Cable, but I honestly feel the Bears can offer better job security than the Raiders and senile Al Davis' revolving merry-go-round.

I like the Bear's approach to the search....
I do not want the Bears to rush to hire an OC or DC just to appease fans and media. There are many good candidates on the eight remaining teams in the playoffs the Bears are unable to interview. There are other candidates that will surface as well. I hope they take their time and make wise decisions. I see no reason to rush to a decision at this point in the off season.

goodbye fewell
Not the first time Schefter screwed up reporting false info.

So what players won't be back?
Sooner or later we have to get back to a "normal" draft where we have picks in all rounds. If we keep mortgaging future drafts to replace picks sacrificed to obtain Cutler, we will always be in a deficit situation. I would prefer us not to trade up this year. I am hoping we show vast improvement with the change of coordinators. If we do not, then we will need those draft selections in 2011 for the new powers-to-be to build the team.

Bears interested in Tennessee's Jim Chaney?
- Ken Zampese interviewed by Bears for OC
- Coaching move that makes me sick
Excellent Point!- So . . . Let's Talk Offseason
Vasher was an excellent CB at one time, suffered through some injuries, then tanked. I have to believe the talent we once saw is still there. If cut, he will just go to another team that will untap that talent once again and we will all be reflecting on another ex-Bears player starring for another team. Fewell is known for his ability to teach and motivate players, his specialty is DBs. If we sign Fewell as DC I would like to think he can get Vasher back to where he was 3 years ago and give us another fine DB on our roster to go along with Bowman & Tillman. I am also anxious to see what he can do in further developing Graham, as well as our safeties. - Ken Zampese interviewed by Bears for OC
