Behind the Power Curve - NFL Scheduling variations
I agree. I think Fields will start week 4. Unless of course he destroys the preseason and you cant hold him back.

sure, and I know you dont go from where weve been right to dominance, but that is the ultimate goal. Id like to see the Bears be dominant once again. not just good, but scary.

Behind the Power Curve - NFL Scheduling variations
right. I dont want to see us be a top 7 team that gets some breaks. i want a team that dominates. A team people fear. I need another hit of 1985 LOL

exactly. and if all you play are creampuffs, yes it increases your chance of making the playoffs, but all but ensures you will lose because you havent been tested and hardened by tough competition.

yes we agree. What I was saying is that I like the tough schedule. Builds the team up for the playoffs.

Friday Rookie Mini-Camp
It really does. Different than any QB I've ever known on our team. And as for other teams, i didnt really pay attention to great QBs until they were great. SO I can say "oh yeah Tom Brady is great" or "Damn that Brett Favre is amazing" but I have never really had the experience of seeing a new rookie look so impressive, just because i dont really read the press on other teams' rookies. Is this what being a fan of other teams is like? I like it.

LOL this is great.

Teven Jenkins Video
I was so close to giving up on this team - something I NEVER though could be possible. And now, we have real reasons for hope and I am drawn back in, just like ASHKUM says. Whether it's fair or entirely true, if things turn around, we are just going to say "Trubisky was a huge mistake, and the reason why everything fell apart" and not even going to remember with much emotion who even drafted him. Nagy, for all his faults, inherited Trubisky. With the new QB, who is probably right now the best QB in Bears history, even though he hasn't even made his rookie mistakes yet or thrown a single NFL pass, and some truly nasty picks, including Tevin Jenkins here, we seem to be getting an identity. A BEAR identity. A tough, grind it out blue collar Grubowski like Jenkins is something we have missed for too long. And Fields is something we have never had at all. Bear Down.

Behind the Power Curve - NFL Scheduling variations
I want my team to be winners. If they dont win Im not looking at outside reasons. Im looking inward, to change things until we are winners. I dont want to win the super bowl because the other team fumbled 10 times, I want to beat the crap out of them and impose our will on them. If we cant do that, then we need to keep making changes until we can.

we used to complain that we didnt get enough national games. I think that if your team gets used to playhing big opponents on big stages, it gives you an advantage if you are able to capitalize on it. I dont mind the Bears playing tough teams, and national games, I just want them to ascend tot he level of the challenge. Then, in playoffs, wed have a tougher team

Speed on Offense - Top 10 Countdown
fair enough. youre saying Vick had more quickness. And he was ridiculous there is no doubt. The great thing is, different as they are, Fileds is plenty fast and is going to present real problems for defenses. When you're mobile AND have deep ball accuracy, the defense cant win no matter what they do.
-
Speed on Offense - Top 10 Countdown
Vick ran a 4.33 at the combine which was considered insane. Is 4.44 really that much slower on the field? 11/100ths of a second over 40 yards?

Leno Released
yeah, youd better be nice to me LOLOL In reality, this move is at least a year late. THe writing has been on the wall for a while, nothing special that I noticed it. A lot of people did.

Free Agent Targets
I think we need another EDGE rusher, and there is still room for upgrades on the OL and at S as well as the CB you mentioned.
-
Rodgers wants out of GB?
maybe they want Foles? And we can throw Miller in too, you know, because they have familiarity LOL
-
Free Agent Targets
exactly, but even from the list of already available FA, there are some great names. With a couple more holes filled, we could be quite dangerous.

Free Agent Targets
yes I said scrambling to ensure their jobs AFTER this bubble theyve created. What Im saying is the window is open, and they are probably inclined to do the most with it in the shortest term they can. Not, say, willing to tank for two years as the QB develops and get high picks around him like a new coach might.
-
Free Agent Targets
So, now that we see a window of hope opening up, and with Nagy and Pace still scrambling to secure their jobs past whatever bubble they've created from this draft, it might be time to add some quality free agents to put us in the hunt. And there are quite a few good names still available, and since the cap shrunk, they will likely be lowish money short term deals. Especially at EDGE, DB, and OL I just saw this, and a lot of these players could really help. Add two, and we are looking kind of dangerous.
