  1. Where do you guys see the All 22?
  2. If you think about it Cubs style, we might be in the lottery this year for a top pick QB next year. I see flashes from this team. Ive seen 8-8 teams that were solid but predictably mediocre. I dont see this team like that. I think this team flashes and regresses. I prefer that kind of bad team, because I think some players are in place, and we are still going somewhere. We might have to look really bad in the standings this year as a building but incomplete team.
  3. I dont think we cut Slauson so much due to age, as due to switching to a more athletic style of blocking, where we ask guards to move further faster. He would have been a good option to have at Center, but you cant see injuries coming, and you cant keep a starter for insurance behind every starter.
  4. Thanks Adam, I hadnt seen that. I wonder what's kicking these guys' butts? I wonder if the new scheme meant to get linemen to the second level is wearing these guys out, or the lack of speed in their game is showing up in that scheme and making them think they dont have it anymore. I get the feeling we are building an actual Offensive Line.
  5. Yup that too. Overall it just increases flexibility.
  6. and it returns the depth at guard we lost when Ramirez retired, and allows us the possibility of loving Long to LT too. Not that we will, or that it'll work, but we have the flexibility to see I think.
  7. I think we didnt cut Slauson so much for age as style. He isnt a zone blocking guy, and I think they want to leverage Kyle Long's athleticism with a zone blocking system. In that context, Grasu makes more sense too. We moved from a 4-3 to a 3-4, but we are also changed our blocking system, so this all makes sense from that point of view.
  8. Long has tremendous athleticism, so he is made for a ZBS. Getting Whitehair instead of Slauson might well increase Long's productivity.
  9. I think he's a special teams guy. I also think we are assuming we are set at positions because were used to mediocrity. It may well be that this team needs competition at every position. Building depth, building a team long term. Same with the OG pick.
  10. I think our top needs are: CB, TE, S, QB and also looking for KR, HB, DL, WR in that order. Not saying we will pick exactly in that order tho.
  11. they moved from 9 to 25 in the 2nd round and gained three 4th rounders for the trouble. That seems like a good thing.
  12. Bears trade again? Do we want 1,000 7th round picks? LOL
  13. MacKenzie Alexander CB LeRaven Clark OT great
  14. OK. two of my list still left on the board. Cool. MacKenzie Alexander CB LeRaven Clark OT
  15. got bills 4th this year and next year. so they got back their 4th and gained one for next year
  16. Bears swapped with Bills. Draft tracker is wrong, Bears will pick right after Indi.
  17. Dont forget DE Kevin Dodd
  18. I'm looking at (in no particular order) TE Henry Hunter DE Kevin Dodd RB Derrick Henry CB Mackensie Alexander OT Le'Raven Clark We're pick #10, and Myles Jack, Reggie Ragland and A'Shawn Robinson are still on the board so there is hope one or more of my five will be there when we pick. I gotta say I trust Pace and Fox to do this right. They have more information and experience than I possibly can. So the game I play on draft day isn't to target a player and then get upset if the Bears don't take him, but instead I like to target players I like and then hope they are available when the Bears pick. If a few of "my guys" are there when we pick, I'll be happy, and if they don't get picked, then I assume we liked the guy we picked even better, which is a sign that we did well.
  19. 60% of the time, and in passing situations, we are in Nickel, with a 4 man front, and need 3 point stance pass rushing 4-3 type Defensive Ends.
  20. Yeah, rather than debate position vs BPA, Id like to see more talk about just how good (or not) Zeke is. I havent seen enough to have a good feel for it, so I can only contribute on the general topic - i.e. is it smart to draft a great RB at #11. I'd rather hear about how great (or not) he actually is. Thoughts?
  21. I don't think it's shocking. We don't have a proven world beating RB, so if you think Zeke is one of those you take him. Every GM is clear about not drafting for need. It's cool you don't agree, but to be "shocked" is kinda crazy.
  22. If you think he is a cut above everyone else at that point, then yes, you have to. You dont pass on Lawrence Taylor because you have a need at safety and a pretty good starter at OLB. Im not saying Ragland is Taylor! But if you think he is, you gotta take him. Ask the packers about taking Aaron Rogers. Or ask any of us Bears fans LOL I think position comes into it when you have more than one player rated roughly equally available, which is almost always. But if Zeke is a difference maker in your eyes, you take him, even with Langford on the roster.
  23. Browns and 49ers could each be strong possibilities for a 3rd QB taken before we pick.
