  1. I would love to see Zorn hired as QB coach. He did a great job with Hasselback. Peace
  2. The Bears should contact Indy and ask what the situation is now, if possible, so they can move forward if necessary. You would think the Colts would have the professional courtesy to let us know either way. Peace
  3. Wow. Now you guys are listening to Hub Arkush. I thought most everyone felt he was a tool????? Crackerdog would be very disappointed in you. Peace
  4. Correct. That is why they didn't clean house this yr. Peace
  5. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/footb...0,7152430.story Peace
  6. http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2010/...y-thursday.html Peace
  7. I do not want a college coach that does not have NFL experience. Same with AFL. I simply think Plank needs a couple years as DB coach before he is a DC. Just my opinion. Peace
  8. Everyone does realize that this is just speculation, right? Peace
  9. Rivera was the Linebacker coach at Philly. I get the Plank love. I get the whole from the Buddy Ryan tree idea. I am simply saying I believe he needs more time to develop. I would love to see on our coaching staff as the DB coach and then, in a few years, DC. I simply see no way this will happen with Lovie as head coach. Peace
  10. That why I said 'perceived' strength. Peace
  11. http://blogs.suntimes.com/bears/2010/01/be...e_cignetti.html Peace
  12. Why don't you ask Larry Meyer on the Bears site? I'm sure he'll give you a canned, fluff answer. Peace
  13. Hoke has experience calling plays which Marinelli does not. If the Bears end up promoting from within, I would much rather promote Hoke than promote Marinelli. Promoting Marinelli would be we weakening a perceived strength. Peace
  14. How do we know what defense Babich ran at North Dakota (we didn't even know he was head coach)? When has Plank ever shown knowledge beyond the cover 2? He was the assistant defensive backs coach at NY and Atlanta. He was like Gill Byrd now on the Bears and their is no way I would promote Byrd to DC. I would be willing to promote him to DB coach and then see how he does. Same with Plank. Peace
  15. Jerry did mention waiting for the recruiting period to be over so they could interview some college candidates. http://www.csnchicago.com/pages/blog_moon Peace
  16. If the Bears promote from in, Hoke should be the man. Check out his bio. Haugh says he is definately an in your face coach which should make many of you happy. http://www.chicagobears.com/team/coach.asp?coach_id=28 If he is promoted they could promote Gill Byrd who is currently the asst. defensive backs coach. Peace
  17. AM 1000 is reporting the Queens have granted permission for Rogers to interview with the Bears. Peace
  18. Why would the Queens allow us to interview him? I say there is a 75% chance we hear no tomorrow. Peace
  19. I think you hit on it. Mulligan described the Bears process as one where they were going to interview a bunch of candidates and then choose. The issue is no one is going to stick around and wait. If they get an offer, they are gone and can you really blame them. Peace
  20. Babich was the head coach at North Dakota State from 1997-2002 so he does have more experience than Plank. I mentioned Tice because I had argued in another post that anyone wanting Plank as DC should have no issues with Marinelli as DC or Tice as OC. Peace
  21. Jackson had a good interview on AM 1000. He has worked previously with Cable and shares alot of the same philosophy. Further, he is from California and is excited to have the opportunity to go home. He said he didn't want to lead Lovie on so he felt it was best to cancel the interview. Peace
  22. Marinelli was the Detroit head coach for 3 years and 10 years a position coach at Tampa. That is 13 years experience in the NFL plus he coached in college for 19 years. That's 32 years of coaching experience to Plank's 5. Tice was Minnesota head coach for 4 years and has been a position coach in the NFL for 10 years. That is 14 years coaching experience to Plank's 5. You can argue that Plank may be a better coach for other reasons, but there is no way you can say he has more coaching experience than Marinelli or Tice. Peace
  23. I think if you want change next year, this is the best possible situation. I do not think the Bears are the laughing stock of the NFL and tire of hearing that. I can think of at least at least 5 organizations that I would consider in role before the Bears led by Detroit, Oakland, and Washington. I am not happy with the Bears right now, but I certainly would not call them a laughing stock. FYI - Mully said that Chud's wife is expecting very soon and he decided that moving right now is not in the best interest of his family. I can't hold that against the Bears. Peace
