  1. I was just looking at the Slaughter schedule today. The stadium is about 45 minutes from my house and the tickets are cheap. I figured I could take my son and nephew to a few games. Sounds like a plan now. Peace
  2. Agreed. I was just talking about 2008. Most of his other drafts are below average to crap. Peace
  3. Sounds like a documentary: "Soaring with Turkeys - The 2009 Chicago Bears" Peace
  4. Phillips said no one has been hired at this point. Peace
  5. Ted was on the SCORE this morning with Mully & Hanley. The interview will be available on their website soon. Highlights (paraphrasing Ted): - The fact that a player like DA comes in at the end of the year and plays very well makes you question what is going on. - Believes Lovie and Jerry give the best chance to turn around the team quickly. - Playoffs are the standard for next year. - Hanley asked if Lovie and Jerry were out of contract, would he have extended them. Ted did not really want to answer. Said he didn't want to answer hypotheticals but that money was not the issue. Overall, good interview. Peace
  6. IMHO I see Bennett with the same skill set as Engram. I could see him as a solid contributor with us for some time. I don't see Roach and DA as regular FA pickups. They were pulled from other teams practice squads during the season. I was specifically talking about additions to the roster last year. Peace
  7. Bennett reminds me alot of Bobby Engram (a possession receiver with limited speed but great hands and route running). Engram was in the league for over 10 years. IMHO, Bennett has alot of value in this league. Everyone is overlooking DA. I realize he was not drafted last yr, but Angelo did pull him off of another teams practice squad (similar to Roach). He looks like a strong #2 and possibly a #1 with development. Peace
  8. Agreed 100%. If things fall apart, Ted won't be fired but he will be moved back to his previous role (getting the stadium deal done ensured him a job for life IMHO). Everyone else will be gone. Peace
  9. I think I remember an analyst saying that getting 2 quality starters off of any draft is a successful draft. Peace
  10. You're right. My bad. Peace
  11. Ding, ding, ding. We have a winner. Peace
  12. What are your thoughts on their performance so far? 1st - Williams 2nd - Forte 3rd - Bennett 3rd - Harrison 4th - Steltz 5th - Bowman 5th - Davis 6th - Baldwin (gone) 7th - ? Throw in Hanie as UDFA and DA and Roach who we snagged off of other teams practice squads. To me, this is actually shaping up as a fairly good group. Thoughts? Peace
  13. He did not fire Rivera. His contract was up and they did not renew him. Peace
  14. Snyder's problem is he has his nose in the football operations. He must think he is Jerry Jones. He is a dbag and there is no way I would want him as an owner. Peace
  15. Probably the best option we are going to get at this point. Peace
  16. Let me say this sincerely - thank you for the input. If I have offended you or anyone else in anyway in the past that was never my intention and I apologize. I will leave it at that. Peace
  17. Sorry to hear about your job. Best of luck. I realize you are not happy about the decision but telling Virginia McCaskey to rot in hell over this is taking things way to seriously. BTW - Her husband is still alive (Ed McCaskey). Peace
  18. My money is on either Martz or Bates for OC and Fewell for DC. Bet these are wrapped up in the next 2 weeks. Peace
  19. I got some good laughs from the conference. I can't wait until Ted has to hold the same conference next year. LOL Peace
  20. Dude, relax. Just giving my opinion. If you don't like it, stop reading my posts. I'm not going to get into a pissing contest with you. Peace
  21. No I don't. I am simply noting that hiring Cowher is not a guarentee for anything and a very real possibility exists that 5 yrs down the road (after his hiring), fans would be calling for him to be fired. For the most part, this is what happens in the NFL. Very rarely do coaches retire. They are normally fired. This is not to say I would mind hiring Cowher. I am simply trying to being a realist. Peace
  22. Let me preface my statement by saying I was hoping for a house cleaning. That being said, what guarentee do we have that, if Cowher is hired next yr, we would be a better football team or win a Superbowl? We have none. No Superbowl winning coach has gone to another team and won a Superbowl. Look at he disaster that Parcells was in Dallas. My point, don't hang your hat on hiring Cowher as the end all, cure all. Peace
  23. I haven't been impressed with Boras. He inherited Clark. What has he done to develop Olsen? We were looking for huge improvement from him this year and he has been a disappointment. Davis looked ok earlier this year but then disappeared. I have no issues with this move. Peace
