Defensive Line fixes
Agreed. Keep him around for a 1 year stop gap if you cannot get a suitable replacement (i.e. Kampman). Peace

Defensive Line fixes
The average top 5 pay for a DE is 16 million? If so, wow. I just can't believe that is true. I was thinking more around 7 to 9 million. Will have to check that out. Peace

Defensive Line fixes
If they bring back Ogy, I would prefer they franchise tag him so we only have him for 1 year. Next year will most likely be uncapped so the money isn't an issue. Not that I want him back, but if they deem it necessary, then keep it to 1 year so we are not locked into a long term deal. Peace

Gaines Adams dead
Simply horrible news. Yeah, it sucks we traded a pick for him but that is all trivial compared to the fact he was in his mid 20s with so much of his life in front of him. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. Peace

Bears interviewed Tice
Agreed. With 2 people in charge, no one is in charge. Peace

With Fewell gone....
My understanding he went to USC with his son. Peace

I like the Bear's approach to the search....
I would agree with this on the offensive side. I am hoping they interview Al Saunders once the Ravens are out of the playoffs. However, it was clear that they wanted Fewell for DC and he chose the Giants. I am unaware of any candidate on the remaining 8 teams that has both the following qualifications: - Was previously a DC - Uses the cover 2 systerm as a base If there are none, then the Bears have lost out on the best candidate based upon their needs. As I said in a previous thread, they may as well promote Babich because he will probably have more experience than anyone they bring in. Note - this is not what I want, but what appears to be a reality. Peace

With Fewell gone....
does it really matter who we get at DC? Whomever comes in will most likely have no previous DC experience (probably someone from Indy's staff). Unless Lovie can pull a rabbit out of a hat and get Herm Edwards to take the position, he is screwed. Hell, they might as well give Babich the position back. He won't cost them anything extra and they could say that a year away from the position gave him a better perspective. Who cares what the fans think??? They have basically told us to go pound sand so how could bringing Babich back be any worse. Hell, he'll probably have more experience than any candidate they hire. UUUGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! Peace

goodbye fewell
Gee, I thought we were going to have guys beating down our doors for these jobs? Oops!!!!! Peace

Bears interviewed Tice
I have no issues with this if it was for o-line or TE. I do not want him as OC. http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2010/...-mike-tice.html Peace

So what players won't be back?
I agree with Mully that you should hold onto all the players until you have to make a decision. Bring as many players as you can to camp. Example - Tommie Harris' bonus is not due until June 1. I'm sure the Bears will work to push back that date if possible. If not, do not make the decision until June 1. When the season starts, I see the following players gone: - Vasher (has lost a step at least) - The Prince (will not be resigned) - AP (great special teams player but you can't keep both him and Wolfe) - Rasheed Davis (need to get the reps to Iglasias) - Pace (he's done) I'm sure there will be more but these stand out. Peace

So . . . Let's Talk Offseason
Is Willie related to Harry Colon who played for the Lions in the 70s??? That was always one of my favorite football names. Peace

not afraid yet? maybe you SHOULD be...
Fair enough. We will simply agree to disagree on this. Peace

not afraid yet? maybe you SHOULD be...
I was being sarcastic on the sport end of it - just like you. I wasn't really upset. I simply do not see it being necessary to insult her and I was simply reminding you that she is Halas's daughter so, in essence, you are insulting him. Peace
-
not afraid yet? maybe you SHOULD be...
Well - I don't think it is funny or necessary. Peace

The glass is half full
Teddy has made a crap load of money for the McCaskeys. If things fall apart, I see him being moved back to his finance role. He will not be fired. Peace
