  1. Im not sure where that came from. Ive seen he was clocked at 23 mph or something but no official 40 times until combine. Im all for checking him out, be great if he can be a Tank Dell, but not holding my breathe. I think we are going to need another big WR to challenge Odunze next year.
  2. Exactly. The offense can start off on all cylinders. They will get Jones, and Roush up to speed quick and Thomas who seems capable of learning might take longer to see WR reps but will be in STs early and often. Once he gets his routes and duties down, I think he has the talent to be the #3. The defense might take a little longer with newer pieces, but all season last year they were having to plug pieces in due to injuries. If they stay healthy, we should see a pretty big jump on improvement. Being an offensive minded led team, we have to get used to our leader adding the parts he wants. As long as the GM has some say to go defense, we should have some long term success.
  3. Its not gonna take until game 5 for the offense to figure it out. Ben knows teams are preparing for them, so he adds more ingredients to cook with. Welcome to food networks Beat Bobby Flay...Benny Johnson.
  4. I don't see him making much more than a practice squad player to be honest. He has decent 10 yd split and lateral quickness, but he doesnt have a route tree and being smaller is a injury liability. If we need a returner to get by, maybe he gets elevated.
  5. I agree, we added 3 DTs in FA and drafted one that all fit the scheme. Billings wasnt a fit for this style, he was good for us for a couple years but time to move on. Dexter will be gone next year and possibly Jarrett. Since Dayo isnt going anywhere this year and they actually like his fit and said he was starting to improve before the injury, he might stick around like Sweat since his last year drops a little to 13.5. Booker will be the guy along with Sweat to get that 3rd down pressure we need. The back 7 will be much improved not only with Gordan and Johnson back healthy, but Bryant and Thieneman. Next years draft has more DEs and I don't see them missing out on one. Get an Edge and 3T and then the rest of the draft is reloading more skill.
  6. My belief is you need to draft oline about every year between rounds 2-4, or LT round 1. You need a pipeline of hawgs so your not buying 3 pieces to be competent. On the D line, same, they play 4 at a time but heavily rotate. The Bears haven't bought into that philosophy it seems. Better make it up next draft. Even having Sweat, Booker, and Turner fo a few years at end. I assume Dayo gets cut next year unless he becomes an 8-10 sack man. DT, needs to add a couple with Dexter a FA and Jarrett likely a cut.
  7. Have to add Velus to this ChatGPT cartoon. Make him a V8 juice can, but change it to V12 with short arms.
  8. We got pretty lucky to pull off all those 2 minute comebacks. Most of the games we couldnt capitalize for most of the game until crunch time. I expect to see them improve in that early game consistency, if they do not, dont expect the same outcomes.

He was probably one of the 7th round picks they were looking at taking.
  10. Squirrel White took over for the infamous Velus Jones Jr. Velus at least has a ring. Wonder what kind of DMs Velus sent the Squirrel

Someone needs to make an AI /ChatGPT cartoon of the Vanilla Gorilla and Super Squirrel White. I see T-shirt sales
  12. See how they lined him up a time or two at the edge, hope we see that from him once in a while. I think with Bush and Elliott we have a future dual w speed. I think he needs some improvement at coverage, but he is something else attacking the run

How many players will contribute or start from this class this year? I'd say 6 out of 7. Will they have the same impact as last years class, probably not as big but i see more players seeing action. This is what building your roster through the draft looks like. There are still some final pieces needed, but that list has shrank.

2 years younger than Kmet... The Bears did a ton of homework on Garrett and the draft prospects. This position is so important that it takes a lot of vetting. I feel good about both our centers.

Im not sure Ben Johnson will let Poles trade top draftcapital for one. He could have had Jermaine Johnson for a 2nd round pick but Ben preferred to hold that pick and instead they sent a 6th for Tryon Shoyinka. Good thing since we now have a potential probowl center in a couple years. I think we will have to find one in FA or the draft.

We can watch Dani Dennis-Suttons career vs Zavion Thomas and the Bears defense especially pass rush to see if they screwed up. I know the guy I wanted was DDS. Thats one problem giving the head coach the weight to sway who to pick. He gave DA the first pick, took the next 3 for O, and the rest to D. DAs 4 picks to BJs 3.

To be fair, Dennis Allen hasn't received much help with injuries and now 2 drafts with minimal input. He went most of the season without his top two CBs, LBs, DEs, and Jarett missed time and Brisker tip toeing his way through the season. Historically, he never had that top DE, but creates a rush through blitzes. If they come in healthy, they will be more prepared to start off knowing the scheme instead of preparing guys they had to pick up to field a team. There should be an uptick in sacks that I see spread out and if one guy hits 12 thats good.
  18. There are a few RBs I already like because I expected them to enter this past draft. I hope no earlier than round 3.
  19. The names really don't matter at this time, just going off positions. Finding a DE that fits the DA profile could be difficult if we pick 25 or later. At least DTs being smaller 3T types are easier to find later.
  20. They definately spread the ball around to about 6 targets. Passed 55%, ran 45%, almost split. Might be similiar to the Bears stats, they were similar split between 6 or 7 players.
  21. I think that was their thinking after Thieneman slipped to them. If he didn't slip, would the Bears have taken Lomu at LT and felt better. Roush may have been the plan all along because of his value for blocking and to help any deficiencies at LT. Watching them run 13 personal is going to be fun but will hurt having the talented WRs we have.
  22. 4.5% drop rate, shows he has pretty good hands. He has a small route tree, so hoping he is a fast learner and the Bears can broaden those limitations Watching that Miss St clip, makes me feel he was the teams focal point or Wr1 and by the looks at LSU, he was maybe wr3/gadget.
  23. Now that the 2026 draft has concluded and knowing the roster and contracts, this is how our 2027 draft could look going off positions more than names/players. DE and DT should be priority, but picking late again could be a problem finding the right scheme fits. The LT projects more as a G in NFL, but having a versatile player who could play LT helps. Not much S depth behind Bryant, Thieneman, and Hicks. I think they address that in FA this year but drafting longer term depth is needed.
  24. The AI commentary cracked me up. All over the place and repeating itself many times.
  25. Sam Roush at 6'7 270# will be playing a big role helping the LT. I've seen experts say that they had him in the 2nd. Now WR Thomas, I thought was a round early but who knows, Witgen who the Steelers drafted round 4 is a similiar player that I was taking round 7. Thomas has more juice and maybe the Bears have Hester 2.0 We watched those DT/DEs go later than we took them in simulators, so I feel the league told us how they feel about their readiness to see playing time this season. The Bears roster is pretty full on the dline, so they are going with those guys and will emphasize better coaching to get what they need. The Bears selections fit their needs, not ours. Believe me, I wanted a DE and DT. The kid we took in the 6th basically outperformed Woods who went in the first and you know he will be a full effort player.
