  1. Nice work. They need to expand the roster bc there are a couple names I would hate to lose. Looking at that, there may be a couple names starting out on IR, Trevathan, Long, Shaw, and Royal so we may get time to evaluate others for a short time.
  2. Getting the QB right is the first step, we may have two. I see the benefit more when we can trade down in drafts for QB needy teams. Next year there will be just as many or more and it could be a frenzy.
  3. Dang, wish I was guessing on the lotto. I figured it would be higher than the 1-5 range.

https://twitter.com/BradBiggs/status/860290902434230272 Done deal. Seen it was 3.75 million but not confirmed.
  5. I am guessing 12th, seen anywhere from 2 to 8 already.

Pace won't over spend, so I imagine he might have bigger thoughts at the moment. Hopefully he comes back

I pleaded a few times about not giving up on Bullard. He was graded higher than were we took him and has upside, he just wasn't ready. It takes some players a year to settle in. I also said we have an abundance of young DB's and didn't see the Bears drafting there either. The draft went pretty close to the way I projected, but with more picks.

I will admit that when it flash the pick was traded and the CHI showed up on the clock, I was shocked. Everyone I was watching with were the same way. I said at that time it has to be for Trubisky. Once the shock hit the world, it created a tsunami of speculation with questions or theorys. This will be the 2nd best gift the University of North Carolina gives to Chicago. MJ and MT!
  9. I didn't buy this theory, it just humored me someone else had to add another spin to it. As you said, Pace made attempts the previous drafts but we were not in a good position to make the move without a real sacrifice to our future. Sitting at 3, we were at a distance to get it accomplished and it happened. Being as covert as they were tells me they were very sure on this decision also. The more I have read on Trubisky, the more I think he can be a top 5-10 QB. He is a student of the game now, give him 3 years and he will be the professor (our version of Peyton Manning)

I might be in the minority, but I think Leno is fine at LT. This is his 4th year and a contract year. If Pace doesn't see much room for him to grow or improve, then let him hit the open market. The recent moves by the Bears suggest Long may not be healthy. Drafting another G and signing Boggs might mean Whitehair moves back to G.

I think we are all concerned on the small school picks. Bill Polien was interviewed today and said if they check the boxes you shouldn't worry. The guys the Bears took did check the boxes (excelled against the level of competion, superior athlete) . The part we need to fear is if 2 or 3 develop into good players, then he will go back to that well often. Dallas got caught up in that process and it worked out good for them finding Romo along with many others.
  13. The Bears needed a guy with more to offer than the Fales type we have been taking. I would have been happy with Kizer in the 2nd and had decent expectations for Peterman and that was it. If the draft played out were the Bears took someone else and another team traded up for MT, I don't think we would of had a chance for Kizer with out packaging a trade to get to the bottom of the 1st. Cleveland would have drafted different, they were good w Kizer and that was there target. We may have had to trade a future 1st like the other teams for Kizer. I think looking closely, the Bears calculated correctly and got the best value to have a QB with high potential.
  14. Since it was aired on the score last night, it may start picking up steam. The writers and talking heads hate this regime because they know about as much as you or me on the Bears inside plans. Last night they talked about how Fox and Pace both wanted Adams and he was the better player to turn the franchise around immediately and they were forced to take a guy neither will be around when he starts producing. It seams the media will stir anything up for drama.
  15. Just heard the newest spin on the NFL draft from "sources" close to the Bears. Supposedly Pace was told to get a QB no matter what with the first pick. He is not the man in charge when ownership is making the football decisions. Why does everything have to be a conspiracy. From Fox didnt know to this now. The Chiefs (edit:had -Cardinals) were praised for trading away their future for Mahomes and they said you do that for a QB that can be your franchis for 10 years. Bears do it and the world collapses.
  16. We were decent against the pass, but that stat was flawed because we were bad against the run. A healthy Goldman will help that.
  17. [quote name='Stinger226' date='May 1 2017, 07:08 Whitehair is moving to a OT spot or, Grasu backup spot is in jeopardy . Also Jaye Howard a 5T that was cut my KC a few weeks ago, visited the Bears today. I would say if healthy, we have another new Bear. Hard to say what the signing means, but it is definately a wake up call to Grasu. Howard failed earlier physicals, wonder how far off is his to being healthy. Doubt he would be still available if good now.
  18. Fuller I would imagine is on the bubble to be cut also. They can drag it out with him through camp. If he decides to put it together, maybe we can see what we saw his rookie season. I don't think he liked Porter since TP called Fuller out on a few occasions about not preparing like a pro and that may have helped him tap out with being a team player. No excuses this season.
  19. Fixed now, thanks. Not sure what was wrong, tried clicking on it but got nothing...all good now
  20. Link is not there. I dont think I saw the whole segment. The two the impressed me the most were Peterman and Kaaya. Maybe bc they were more gitty. Them two also had the highest wonderlic
  21. Let them bash it. There might be parts I don't like how they happened but stand behind it. We could draft a bunch of well known names that get praise and they could all bust. They come into the NFL on the same level, they are men with special qualities. What makes or breaks them is how they adjust.
  22. The drafts never go how we envision and that makes fans react the way the way they do. I think most felt good last year and the opposite this year. What Pace did with this draft is add pieces that will help a young QB with a TE, 3rd down back that can help extend series, and a G who will be starting next year. One thing I want my team to do is give everything possible to make that QB successful and he will still need a blindside protector which looks to be solid in the next draft class.
  23. Just took a glance at early mocks this morning. It looks deep at QB, OT, CB, DE/OLB and WR. The blessing is if we can get a 3rd back at least if not more to trade down. RD1-Mike McGlinchey ND or Connor Williams TEX OLT-if we can nail down the LT and make it a strength instead of a below average joe, Trubisky may look like gold by staying clean. RD2-Arden Key LSU OLB- good time to reload on pass rush since Houston, Young, McPhee won't all be around. Could go DB here but pass rush trumps. RD3-Jaire Alexander CB Lou-smaller CB but plays big. Pick came from trading down a few spots RD1
  24. It would be nice to be able to take a deal and pick up extra picks whether the bears are a top 5 pick or mid round. Still have some prime positions to fill like OLT and a shut down CB, so I wouldn't sacrafice those. The prime positions you want to hit on of course are QB, DE/OLB, CB and OLT, we have a good chance of having two checked off. The tough part is having the patience building this from basically nothing, which we may have a tough season again seeing the first half of the schedule.
  25. You missed the extra 4th we had, but like your picks #3-Mitchell Trubisky QB- I believe SF wanted Thomas regardless and feared trading down to lose him #36-Sidney Jones CB- take his potential, the draft was that anyways #67 -Cooper Kupp WR #111 Eddie Jackson S #117 David Sharpe OT #147 Jordan Legget TE #221 Zane Gonzalez K
