  1. Jarron Gilbert - the jump out of the pool kid.
  2. It helps to open all doors. If they sign Kahlil Mack as rumored, that opens it wider. Zeiter and Dalman and who knows, they can take anyone like Simmons or Jentry. The DL is deep, they can get good players in round 2 or 3.
  3. Since NIL, the draft is not as deep as before. Poles will spend 6, or 7th rounders to bring in guys that can start rather than draft someone that will be practice squad most likely. In last years draft 16 players in the 6th round played 10 or more games and 10 players in 7th round played 10 or more games. They traded for a guy who can start all 17 if he can stay healthy. If he doesn't work out, they don't owe him anything in 2026 if they cut him.
  4. Bears making a trade with Rams for LG Jonah Jackson One of the better pulling guards if he can stay healthy. A 2025 6th round pick is it. This helps fill a need and costs a pick that would have been a developmental player at best.
  5. Greg Gabriel is also a former scout and he is wrong more than right, lol. I love Greg's stuff and his attitude because he triggers so many. I do think Zabel and Membou can be players in this league, what position is the question.
  6. Booker might be the safest pick. Membou had a good combine, but I don't know much about him yet. Need to do some digging. I think Zabel surprises and is gone before the second. He showed good combine results and can pretty much play every position. If he makes it to 39, we better jump on him.
  7. Looks like they might. They know he is cheaper than RW for possibly the same output.
  8. I heard the Steelers want to go with JF going forward.
  9. In a way it stinks that the NFL raises the cap so much that it rewards good teams so they can retain key players. The Bears have really no one to retain and may not be able to get the FAs they were eyeing. They can and should extend Gordan. They will more than likely over spend on some of their top targets since they have so much cap. Then they need a miracle in the draft. Carter, Graham, or Campbell falling to 10 would that kind of miracle we need.
  10. The Bears are not in position to take a 1st rd RB or TE for that matter. They have one for sure starter on the oline, leaving LT open because Poles himself said they will have competition. They need a DE opposite of Sweat and should add DTs to rotate with Dexter and Billings. I don't want Shemars combine results to influence the Bears. Stick to game tapes and if they see something they can fix, maybe but not at pick 10. When the Bears are real and not on paper, they can swing for a Jentry round 1. If it came down to Booker G or Jentry RB, take that stud G that will make Swift/Roschon that much better.
  11. Have to put every tackle in this group too. They are almost all eligible to playing inside.
  12. As soon as they announced the cap raise it was a given. If KC had no room but to go to Mahomey it was a possibility. Now to Dalman
  13. Braxton is not bad, he is serviceable as we have seen. The goal is to have greatness and if you can find it at LT, you covered one of the toughest positions to draft. This draft is not looking good to get that so far unless some arms measure longer or a guy like Simmons shows clean health. The Bears have to deeply analyze this class because the blueprint says this is their last draft in the top half or even top 10 for many years. Banks might be a great LG that can play LT year 2. Your guy Zabel, who might sneak into round 1 can possibly play every position. If he is there with our 2nd, he'd be a nice addition. Donovan Jackson, they say doesn't move well so he might not fit what the Bears want to do.
  14. I think we all learned the Poles don't know much about the oline and he will listen to Johnson and Roshar for their input. Poles has thrown 6 darts in the draft, signed a dozen or so free agents, and traded for 3 or so. We are looking at Darnell Wright, Kiran, Braxton, and Bates as our roster today. They will be active in fa and the draft and if the like a LT in the draft, they won't hesitate bc they have 2 guys already on the roster. I see Campbell gone myself, so imo it comes down to Banks, DE or trade down.
  15. I am surprised no one has brought up much about the interviews from the combine. Poles said the Bears will have competition for LT when he was asked. Now we don't know if he means Kiran or a draft pick, but Braxtons job is not a lock.
  16. For sure, Poles and Johnson talked to Jentry right away. I just see that #1 pick going to D or Oline, or trade down. Jentry would be a great pick next year if the oline is established.
  17. Drafttek I believe uses a newer version. https://www.drafttek.com/nfl-trade-value-chart.asp 100 points= a 3rd(in the compensation slots which is pick 100)
  18. The Bears need to have an established oline first in my opinion before spending your big coin (1st) on a RB. I can see Rd 2 or 3 if there is a bpa. Like you said, he may draw a trade and maybe Dallas bites. How much does trading 12 for 10 get us.
  19. With 80 million, they could do more than we are conditioned to. We know they will most likely sign or trade for one DE which will eat 20 million give or take. They could also pay Trey Smith 20-25 million and sign Dalman, Shelton, or Kelly for Center. Sign a vet min WR, DT, and TE and the draft is lined up to take BPA and of course get another starting guard. The scenarios will be unlimited but they can get a couple big names without hurting the long run.
  20. They won't be able to sign any big names much further down the road. If they are going to do it, this is a good year so they can prepare for Calebs year 4 by front loading deals. With being nearly 80 million under the cap, they can get 1 for sure and most likely 2, no more signing all mid level guys. It is time to make a real push and bring in a Trey Smith and Josh Sweat. It's just my opinion. The Bears want to raise ticket prices 10+%, they better put a winning team out there.
  21. I like what Kiran can develop into and Braxton most likely walks after the season, so I am more on the draft a LT wagon than sign one right now. We watched Braxton for 3 years and sure he isn't the worst but I want a guy who is here for 10 years locking that spot down, so I wouldn't give him a 2nd contract. I'd take your proposal for Dalman and Zeilter over Smith. I am so tired of the Bears center carousel since losing Kreutz. They need a legit starter and a worthy draftee to develop. Do not be shocked to see a RB in round 2. The run game is the most important part of Ben Johnsons offense. I see them going OL/DL and RB with the first 3 picks.
  22. A 10% average hike in the ticket prices and the 3rd highest cap should be one or two big swings. The Bears have 3 cheaper years left with Caleb and if he is what we drafted him for, he will be extended before the 5th year. So if Poles is going to swing for the fences, this is the year to do it. Some names I'd like to see them contact. Some homerun swings: Oline: Ronnie Stanley LT, Trey Smith G, Drew Dalman C DE- Khalil Mack is he still regarded a DE1, trade Micah Parsons, Myles Garrett
  23. The Bears freed up 10.5 million in cap today. I don't mind losing Everett but Demarcus Ware at least showed up once in a while amd seemed like a good teammate. I hope this means there is a chance to get a prize FA or two. We are about 3 weeks for the big wave to hit.
  24. True, but he is that guy right now. We can trade for Garrett/Parsons, but it might cost multiple 1sts. They can draft one, but rookies rarely become that premiere guy for a couple years. I feel the Bears concentrate on the offense this season and go with what they have at DE while adding a later round developmental guy and maybe a fa.
  25. Like detroit going through new coordinators, so will the Bears. I think we have some really good ones, but it does take some adaptation time. The key piece to me is the DE 2, that might not get brought in if we concentrate on fixing the offense first. Can Booker take that step? That might be what they lean on.
