I thought Poles was fine. He was the same with Caleb, even though they knew it was happening. Warren was an odd ball..."go blue".. Ben Johnson did remind me of Gruden. You can tell he wanted this player. Not saying they didn't want a LT first though. Let's hope we can get Ersery. He is more athletic than Banks. For offense, if they can get Henderson, Johnson, or Judkins I think they will be complete and will be regarded one of the best on paper.
-
Him and Jihaad Campbell were medical flagged and expected to drop. Will Johnson has a bad shoulder. He could overcome it, but if it requires surgery, I think those have 6 month+ recovery time.
-
Kmet has always been the inline blocker, so he can still play a role in the offense as he has done previously. He will most likely see more production with Johnson in charge. If the Bears sign/draft another TE, then I will agree he is gone but until then he is sticking around.
-
The bad part about drafting someone not able to do training camp is they are not getting the refining/technical live assistance. Once game one week starts, player development is out the window. That is what killed Kiran. Simmons has the talent but will miss the stuff he needs to develop.
-
We will never know, but I expect to see the Bears move up and draft Conerly using a 3rd or future pick.
-
I do not see Kmet going anywhere. He is the inline blocker. Loveland will either line up slot or the move TE. It disguises the offense so the Bears will be almost entirely in 12 man. Get a stud RB and watch out. Defenses won't know what they are doing run/pass.
-
Not a huge fan at 10, but understand with Banks gone. Bears got WR#3/TE1. He replaces Keenan Allen. Now trade up for Conerly or take Ersery and Henderson/Johnson
-
I'm going to have to not look on here, you are ahead of the TV lol. Seen Banks to the Bears too.

Interesting report - Bears move up for Jeanty
ASHKUM BEAR replied to CrackerDog's topic in Bearstalk
I predict another trade down to whoever wants Jeanty, Warren, or ? -
I think after pick 3, all the teams would prefer to trade down. Jeanty is a stud, but Henderson is not far behind. Where would Henderson be if these two switched teams. One was the feature at a smaller school and the other split w Judkins and other near pro ready talent.
-
280 pound minimum. We have the #10 chip, might as well come home with some mass and fill the freezer. 🐂
-
Winston was a 1st round prospect and blew his acl. He could be a value at rd 3, especially having Brisker/Byard.
-
I completely agree and every mock I do thinking my way is oline (Banks) round 1. Too many DTs, RBs round 2. I'd even trade down with one to get a S or TE round 3. Winston from Penn St would be a 3rd round steal.
-
The position with the least failure rate in round 1 is oline. I think a RB at 10 better be an all-pro and Jeanty looks the part. He won't last and they have other holes to plug to trade up.
-
Ben Johnson said they don't expect Jones to be ready. Poles said they will bring in competition for LT. Jones deal is up at the end of the year. If there isn't a playmaker that can put up more points to than Swift, Moore, Odunze, or Kmet available, Johnson will want oline.

Interesting report - Bears move up for Jeanty

Poles was asked if there would be a little movement this draft since the top of the class is rare. He said there are plenty of calls already happening and they have had many. Never know, but I only see the Bears going up. They go down, they might lose a target like Banks to SF. -
Sounds like they are interested in a guy who slots at G/T, which seems to be Banks 😜 At least there are nuggets about the Bears serious about adding to oline after spending a ton of money and picks this year. As we have seen, injuries happen and building depth is a key to winning

Want _dont want _ surprise and what they will do
ASHKUM BEAR replied to Stinger226's topic in Bearstalk
I tend to agree, then you look at if they draft a 3rd round guy that blows the league up and they are in a worse situation were both Odunze and the rookie contract is up the same year. The only way they go round 1 WR is if they have that player graded as special and will add points. If the QB cannot sit in the pocket, then it doesn't matter who is running routes bc the QB will be scrambling like the last 3 or more years. -
I predict this will be the last year the Bears pick at 10 or even under 20 going forward. The Bears have a shot to fill some premium positions (LT, DE, DT) with 3 picks in the top 42 slots that they may not have the opportunity to do this again for many years. They could possibly even have a shot to draft the best RB to come around in 7 years (Barkley). When the Bears are on the clock, I really want to see how they think if Banks, Graham, & Mykel Williams, are available. Then Poles will throw a knuckle ball and strike us all out selecting someone non of us projected.
-
This draft reminds me of of 2018. The year I wanted Quinton Nelson or Mike McGlinchey, but we went with Roquan. 2018 was a weak OT class as well. 2018 was also the year RB Saquan Barkley was taken, which was the last high profile back to be taken until Jeanty this year. Going off the karma train, the Bears will select LB Jalon Walker, Georgia.
-
If the Membo hype stays alive, since I don't think 3 OTs go before we pick. I think the Bears would take Campbell or Banks because they both have played the position and Roushar can get them polished to play. Banks I think has the better tools to succeed but I don't discount Campbell's drive.
-
A quick article for Banks. Makes sense. https://www.sportsmockery.com/chicago-bears/why-kelvin-banks-might-be-the-bears-actual-pick-at-10/
-
I think a lot of writers made Banks a preferred guard at 6'4 and 33" arms. Then at the combine he measured 6'5 and 33.5" arms. Let him compete with BJone and KArmedje, I want the cream to rise.
-
Thanks for sharing. These two sold me on so many guys. Jeanty if there is a no brainer... unless Dallas offers a deal you cannot pass and I'd love that bc RB is deep. They hyped up Warren pretty good... and ill take their word. As for OT, I still feel it is a need regardless of Thuney helping, it will also weaken his play if he has to help Jones. Trade 10 Dallas to 12 and 76: *1-12. Banks LT 2-39 K Grant DT 2-41 K Johnson RB 3-72 J Sawyer DE *3-76 H Fanning TE

There is an athletic prospect from Bowling Green that I thought could be a LaPorta type. I haven't watched any tape, but only read his draftbuzz profile. Harold Fanning Jr https://www.nfldraftbuzz.com/Player/Harold-FanninJr-TE-BowlingGreen https://www.nfldraftbuzz.com/Player/Sam-LaPorta-TE-Iowa
