Banks started off as the top LT, and LT is a premiere position that many GMs consider over positions like RB, TE, LB. After his combine measurements, his value jumped with his extra inch in height. His athletic ability and technique project him as a good fit for zone systems, which would fit the Bears. His skills project him as a probowl caliber player at G or T. Good chance he is not there at 10 and Campbell also could be off the board. With LT, they have to compare to Braxton and Kiran. Is Banks or the guys we have a talent for 4 years or 8-10?
-
I've seen Jalen Walker mentioned a few times. Sure his game is intriguing, but he has not developed as an off the ball LB or on the line edge since he played all over/rover. If a team wants to work on developing those skills he missed out on in college, they will have work cut out.

The 3 options are Jentry, Warren, or Banks, imo. Jentry and Warren are exra point adds... Banks increases every offensive players EPA. If they feel another RB or TE with a close EPA can be had later, they take Banks.
-
Ben Johnson brought in a new metric for the Bears to use when grading players, EPA. Extra Points Added. I heard they see 3 tiers. 1-10, 11-27, 28-70. Poles has his premiere position philosophy for drafting, but he hasn't reached to fill that either since GM. His order, QB, OT, DE, CB.

Five Current Bears Who May Determine Bears' Draft Plans
ASHKUM BEAR replied to dawhizz's topic in Bearstalk
Now do WR George Pickens... As long as the McKaskeys are owners, the Bears will walk the fine line with character. They might be called the Monsters but they are the loveable cartoon ones. I'll add the Bears took Gordon and Brisker ahead of Pickens, then in the 3rd took Velus "V12" Jones Jr. -
Every position seems deep that we need except LT. I know Johnson runs more 2 TE sets over 3 WR, but I think having a slot WR like Egbuka would make the O more explosive than a TE. Egbuka would have to be a trade down also.
-
Simmons is a supposedly catcher, so I'm hesitant and he's hurt. Banks I'm good with Campbell is rated high for some reason. I can't discount him yet and i haven't watched any tape either
-
Campbell or Jentry would be a dream. Graham, I feel like like he is light for how we want to be up front. And i'd rather get Egbuka or Burden at WR over TE.
-
The best is to move down 5-9 and gain a 2nd or 3rd. Then get a defensive difference maker or LT. I've been taking James Pierce lately with a move down. Little light but he can be a disrupter. Then take Grant or Nolen next. The defensive front would be set. Ersery if avaliable for LT and RB next. TE/WR after that. The rest of the draft get a LB, S.
-
I've been on the Kenneth Grant wagon. My opinion is Poles might see a Chris Jones in Nolen or Grant and Chris Jones is one of the reasons KC has been a consistent winner besides mahomes of course. I don't think 10 is too high, but maybe he can wiggle down a little and still get one.
-
Yes, get the guy who held up against nfl caliber talent...Campbell, Banks, Simmons, Ersery, D Jackson. No more Lenos, Braxtons, or Kirans. We haven't had a QB that could survive a pocket since Grossman/Orton.
-
Poles said they will bring in competition. He played pretty good out of position against some elite players according to stat lines (i only watched a few plays on X). Let him compete against Braxton and Kiran, worst case is he is a depth a G/T until he can win a spot.
-
That would be great and some pay back from getting fleeced a couple times. I thought which NFC north team can we fleece a future 1st from that we think will finish last.
-
I guess the 36" arms came from his High School prospect rankings. They said the combined shaved 1/2" off all the prospects.. Arm-Gate This is some notable opponents he faced Michigan Josaiah Stewart, Penn St-Abdul Carter, Tennesee-James Pearce, Oregon-Jordan Burch, Texas-Barryn Sorrell, Notre Dame-RJ Oben I wouldn't let him slide if available round 2.
-
I want to know why Donovan Jackson isn't in the conversation for LT. 36" arms, played the position lights out the last portion of the championship season. He is my sleeper.
-
This class is pretty deep at RB. I'd be happy with either Ohio State kid preferably rd 3.
-
I haven't looked into him, but he seems to pop on simulations in the 7th. If the brass feels he has the tools to be great, go for it. If Campbell, Banks, or Simmons are seen that way, I'm fine with that too. We have lucked into Leno and Jones who were not bad, but not great. I just want the Bears to take the lines serious and realize how it elevates teams into long term winning.
-
Aireonte would be a blue collared player. His arms are all in the same grouping as the rest. The only guys w longer arms are late rounders Jalen Rivers from Miami and a kid from William and Mary or some small college. Regardless of which route they go, arm length will be in that 33" range. Just get the guy who has held up the best against nfl type competition.

LT should be in consideration every year until you nail it. Most can play another position on the line unlike a QB. Glad we have that position finally nailed. Now the Bears need to get LT and DE right. There not much in this draft for those either that fit, so the work is cut out. It would be a miracle if Poles can find a trade partner that nets a potential high 1st next year while moving down 15 spots. Like a trade in the division, like Minny, we get pick and 24 and their 2026 1st. The finish last in the division and we could be picking around 8 next year.
-
I listen for their Bears talk too. My all time favorites were Lawrence Holmes and Zach Zaidman. I enjoyed Spiegel and Holmes especially when Jaylon Johnson is on. Wanny and Kreutz are prime listens. The only time I sour is when I stop hearing about sports or when they cut callers down as if only one opinion matters

Campbell is a grinder, leader etc that excelled by his attitude. That is one reason I like him. He would fill a spot, hopefully at LT but worst case inside. LSU turns out players and not saying he will or won't turn, but last year I was good with Jayden Daniel's and WR Brian Thomas Jr. Many of these players we are looking at might not even play much year one because we are sitting on a roster that is near filled. We can draft to replace and maintain the cap and let the player grow and earn jobs instead of handing them out Simmons doesn't have much more body size wise and recovering from a torn petallar tendon, which is a 6-12 month recovery for normal people. He will have to be evaluated by his game tape. If you find time, I probably won't, but he is called out for being a catcher. He has technique and athletic ability. Kevin Banks was gone and if it was between him or Campbell, I'd be torn to choose. Banks seems to have that better chance to be a long term LT.

One take, using#1 ..just now. I regret not getting an Edge, but couldn't pass S ranked 21st best player available. Emmanwori might be the next Polomalu. Will Campbell might be a guard for us, but get him up to speed at LT and worst case he replaces Thuney next year. Ty Williams fills a needed NT depth position that he could surpass Billings at sooner rather than later. Judkins has low miles and can be a bell cow as he thrives at attacking gaps. Johnsons offense run scheme attacks gaps, so he seems perfect. TE, Mitch Evans has untapped potential that his best days are ahead of him. The last pick I made was a S because I forgot I got the best SS already and I skipped the last pick because the site doesn't let me save the draft without giving my email. Using #2 next...

I used those seeds and got dream drafts. Must be your algorithm. But I am also pleased to see Campbell or Banks as options. I fear Jentry right now as he shows alot . Have to compare his grades to other RBs the past 5 years. If he beats them, then maybe.

The Score has really fallin off. They lost the Bears to AM1000, the Cubs to their own broadcast, and are down to the Bulls. Have they figured it out to why, I doubt it. People of different views, race, education like to tune into sports to escape and not hear how smart they are or how their political views are better. Berstein was all about cancel culture, well I am happy Karma knocked his ass of his pedestal. He brought it on himself. I wish him the best but not in a public forum.

Makes me think Thuney is on the one year deal. The same they did for Keenan Allen. 4th round pick, pay his salary and gone. I guess if he plays all pro, they can tag him if they have the cap.
