  1. It's never too early to look into mocks it's only 364 days away lol.
  2. Mr Kiper also said the Bears had a good draft last year for what it's worth.
  3. Iglesias: He will get the most oppotunity and unlike Bennett, the Bears won't ask him to learn all 3 WR positions. With Iggy lining up opposite of Hester, I see him getting a lot of looks and he may be able to steal the"QB favorite" that Bennett had coming into this season. If Iglesias can develop the possesion go to guy, the Bears hit a jack pot as that should really improve Hester and Olsen's ability to get bigger openings. Bennett/Davis will probably battle for the slot. Gilbert: He will see the second most time rotating along the D line. Angelo sees him playing both inside and outside depending on situations. His athletic ability may really push Tommie at the 3 tech. and just b/c he's a little bigger doesn't mean he won't be able to get after the QB from the edge. His 40 time is pretty close to were Alex Brown's is around 4.74-4.81) Freeman: If he is 100% healthy and can digest the scheme quickly, I see Freeman knocking off Hillenmeyer/Roach b/c Lovie didn't seem to confident in either. The Bears had OLB prett high on there radar for a reason and Freeman will get his first shot on ST's and if he steps up there quickly, look for Lovie to make a shift shortly after as he likes to use how they play ST's as a gauge. Moore: DJ has a lot people to compete against for playing time. His best opportunity to dress on Sundays is if he can win a spot on ST's. If he gets on the field on ST's, he's about 2 injuries away for his audition and odds are pretty great he will see some action. He may also get in on some dime packages kind of like Steltz did from time to time, but I don't see him knocking off D Manning for the nickel. Alfavia, Melton, Knox, Kinder, and Louis may also find oppotunities, but I don't expect a whole lot from them until injuries start taking players out for a game or two. Out of this bunch, Knox and Melton will probably see a couple of play's a game, but as you know Lovie/Bears their chances will be slim.
  4. 5. I also agree.....time to start getting ready for the 2010 class LOL. I think JA and Co. have put together back to back solid drafts and we'll start seeing dividends soon.
  6. Good reply LT2_3, and you can't have too much youth/inexperience starting especially with the addition of Cutler. I'm a draft Oline guy, but after Pace, Shaffer, and Omiyale signings there's not much room without releasing players. I will say next year we will need a G/C prospect which would be a good RD3 pick.
  7. Thanks for the info. I think we get down on some of our WR's too often, I'd like to see Marvin Harrison's profile as he has nothing special talent wise or size but he has solid hands and excellant route running.
  8. I agree, I liked the way we put Olsen in the backfield as a FB. Here's a formation: Hester WR Clark TE Pace LT Omiyale LG Kreutz C Buenning RG Williams RT Davis TE ..................................................................Cutler QB .................................................................Olsen FB ..................................................................Forte RB or Put Olsen at Hester's WR spot and put Louis as FB.
  9. 3-68 Michael Johnson DE 3-99 Juaquin Iglesias WR 4-105 David Bruton FS 4-119 DJ Moore CB 5-140 Johnny Knox WR 5-154 Marcus Freeman OLB 6-190 Vance Walker DT 7-246 Trevor Canfield OG 7-251 Derek Kinder WR
  10. I haven't looked too much at Freeman since I was looking more into Follett/Beckwith as LB options, but I'm starting to think he may be one of the steals of the draft. I was also kind of mad about passing on DE Michael Johnson as I think he could be turned into a feared pass rusher, but will with hold judgement until we see how Gilbert and Melton turn out.
  11. I don't think any jobs were on the line....just an opportunity for a team that is financialy sound. We still have about 20 million available. Just like the opportunity for Cutler, if we could've got Boldin for our 2nd they could've got a another star contributor for draft picks and of course $$ in the contract. I like the way JA operates, he'll keep the team cap sound and when oppotunities pop up, he'll look into them and make efforts. We might not here about most of them, but the guy does his home work.
  12. He played more as an offensive lineman, but project better as a TE. Probably a blocking TE like Gilmore was since Davis couldn't take off in the blocking department.
  13. Bears take Lance Lewis a TE out of SD ST
  14. Don't forget about Bowman either....the Bears have moved him over to FS also to give him more of an opportunity to play. His performance against Minny was pretty solid and showed if he can stay healthy he can be a playmaker.
  15. Every year we have the negative nancy's, if they were drafting, we would have taken Iglesias at 49. I'm fine with who we take, ya i have my favorites/targets too but I rarely get critical. Now if Duke is passed up again, it's a different story LOL
  16. We need to boost the DL, especially the DE. Ya, were fine for 2009, but if we don't add someone this year, were screwed in 2010. Just like on offense, it starts with the line on defense also. The front four on defense makes the DB's look a lot better if there getting pressure on the QB
  17. Let's go Bear Bro's - twelve more picks and were up.
  18. I have a hard time believing he would slip out of the first 1/2 of the 2nd RD, but if he's there it's a no brainer. My Big board would be: Nicks, MJohnson, Robiskie, Delmas, RJohnson, W.Moore. I've been hearing whispers that the Bears are eyeing up William Moore S Miz and are looking more into what he accomplished his junior year. If he performed at that level his senior year, he would have been a RD1-15 player. Injuries held him back, so the Bears may change their mind on him since JA said they will take that into more consideration.

    Boldin

The latest I heard was we may offer Hester and our 2nd for Boldin, but thats coming from some guys I work with. As much as I love #23 and have invested in him, I'd still make it happen.

  21. What do you guys think of the whole Jay Cutler nightlife fiasco that the media is currently playing out. I think the Chicago media (especially the papers) have no clue anymore. This is probably one of the biggest weeks were you can generate interest in your product by building up a buzz about the draft and prospects, but they failed to do so and instead make it out that it is "evil" to go out on your time and have a good time. No wonder they are losing out and eventually going to have to fold. It cracked me up listening to the score tonight and some "nerd" called in and compared Cutler to a CEO of a company and that it was not proper for them to hit the club and have some drinks. I think it's great Cutler and Olson are hitting it off and can have some drinks together, thats how some of the greatest bonds can be formed. Hopefully they form a connection on the field also. I'm grateful of the respect the people of Bourbonnais have, if you thought the last picture of Cutler and Olson were bad, some of the things you see during TC could be taken just as bad also. These guys are just people, like you and me, let them live there lives and as long as they don't break the law WTFC.
  22. Or how bout the last time we won the Super Bowl our leading scorer also wore #6. Just bring out your old Butler jersey, remove the B and stitch on a C and your ready to head down to Miami.
  23. RD2-49 Louis Delmas FS - With the 1st and 2nd level WR's off the board, the Bears select the top rated FS. RD3-99 Mohammed Massaquoi WR - Bears had him targeted in RD2- Massaquoi is a quick big target the Bears are looking for. RD4-119 Zack Follett SLB - Bears need an upgrade over Roach/Hunter, Zack is a hard hitter, superb instincts, pass rushing mutha that JA is drooling over. RD5-140 Matt Shaughnessy DE - Hard worker that needs some fine tuning and body refinement. Attn:RodM/RustyJ RD5-154 Jason Watkins OT - Developmental player to groom behind Pace, Shaffer, and Williams. Another RT/LT prospect. RD6-190 Brandon Tate WR - Bears take a shot on a playmaker that can also do double duty as a returner. RD7-246 Ray Feinga OG - Big mauler OG that will fit in a power run game, needs some work w/ Dusty to get in better shape RD7-251 Morgan Trent CB - Big physical corner with big game experience WR and FS are the two biggest needs to be addressed this offseason. Delmas is a can't miss at #49 and only Nicks/Britt/Robiskie can change JA's mind here. JA goes early on D addressing FS, SLB, and a DE Marinelli can work with. On offense, WR was the biggest concern and the Bears grab two hoping to strike gold. Two offensive linemen are also picked and they will need to be groomed for a couple of years before they are ready.
  24. That was hilarious, especially when they go to Denver and Bowlen and McDaniels are talking about what to do with all their draft picks. I spit up all over the key board. Thanks for posting!
