Cutler on offense--one bad read for an int and one bad throw for an int kill scoring drives Roach on defense-- one bad call on defense leaves a two on three situation and one bit of bad fundamentals not getting into his zone costs us a TD at the end of the half. This is where we miss Url the most.

Look, there are no corners on this team besides maybe Bowman that I want bumping and running. Even if you have safety help the corners have to slow the WR's down enough for the safeties to be effective. Especially with a two receiver side. Its what your theory for point one is. But look at the Vasher play, he didn't slow anything down. You have to have a certain type of corner to play that. And our CB's dont always line up 10 yards off the ball. They change their depths throughout the game. Again this type of defense is designed to prevent big plays and get turnovers. Its going to give up yardage. Thats just the nature of the beast. Although people dont like it, its what we run.

Which CB do you want playing bump and run? This defense is supposed to take away the big play and force the short completion where the CB's and LB's run to the ball and create turnovers. If you play these corners up, they will give up the big play. You have seen the proof. Do I need to bring up Steve Smith?

Great points all. I've made a similar case in the past, but we simply have people on the board who refuse to give credit where credit is due. They have made there minds up for whatever reason and it cannot be changed.

Come on man. Just because you say "Down Distance and Situation" doesn't make it the end all be all for when teams are expecting run. Teams do in fact expect run on down other than 3rd and 1. Those two play action passes came on 2nd and goal from the 2 and 4th and goal from the one. Little different than first and goal. In fact, we had a first and goal inside the ten three times and ran all three times, the last one was Wolfe's score. So looking at these facts you could say that Det was expecting the run more than the pass in the last case. Plus the fact that we were up big and not likely to subject Cutler to getting hit. On the bright side, your obsession with this play is hilarious.

Just answering your question on why we dont play the corners up, chief. Thats why we dont do it.
