Well thats disappointing....

Well Shelrath doesn't like the guy cause he is not Elway. But I watched NFL Network too last night and they had good analysis of this. The thing is, even if you are someone like me who was questioning getting Cutler, you have to be excited about such a bold move. I have total respect for JA for taking us out of limbo, giving us a vision, and laying all the cards on the table. Now we know its Cutler or bust. If it doesn't work out, JA, Lovie, the whole defensive crew (Url, Tillman, Wale, etc.) will probably be gone and we will have a totally new organization . If it does work out, we have our Farve for the next decade. We as fans must get behind Jay Cuts, endure some of the gunslinger types negatives (mutiple pick games, etc, rejoice in the gunslinger highs (4 or 5 TD games), and have a great time watching the show. As far as the deal goes, I really dont think JA gave a crap about the first rounders. He subscribes to the Mel Kiper Jr theory that you can get 1st round talent later for a fraction of the price, and to be honest, I would rather him trade out of the first round every year anyway. JA is not scared to try to get a value in the later rounds and he is not afraid to cut his losses when it doesn't work out (Baziun, Rosey Williams, etc) . His success rate in teh first round is dismal, so really the Broncos did him a favor. The part that I am surprised at is the third rounder. Those are gold to JA, so it must have been tough to give up. At any rate, I am super excited to see if we can find more gems in the draft, and I can't wait until preseason.

I agree with this and hav said so in another thread. You dont make a bold move like this and not hand the reigns over to the guy. Basically JA has gone all in with this QB move. If it doesn't work out he will be looking for a new job. The old guard that has gotten all the attention for any successes to this point will need to understand this. The good thing for JA is that the fans are not so in love with the defense and their players anymore. Five years ago, that defense basically ruled the roost. Not anymore. And I think that players like Url are not going to be happy with that. Hopefully he will get over it, because if not, I dont think JA will hesitate to start looking for other options. JA has staked his claim to Cutler and he is not going to let the "captain" of a underacheiving defense start trouble.

HEre is one I heard from Mike Mulligan out here as he was being interviewed by our locals guys. Bolden for Url. Your thoughts.....

I didn't like Url's comments either. I think some of that "mafia" of vets in the locker room will be put on notice. Wale will be gone next year. MBrown is already gone. ABrown and Url may only have a few years left. Kruetz only has a couple years left at the most either. They need to understand that it is now Jay Cutler's team. You dont give up that much stuff to not have him be the leader. I think JA is sick or the current leadership, or lack of it, so he picked his, what he hopes, in the golden ticket.

Well, I like it less now that its 2 ones a three and Orton for Cut and a 5th. But I guess I look at it like just 2 1's and a 3rd. Orton would have been useless anyway. I hope this works out.
