They may not have excelled, but they wouldn't have been exposed as much either. When he had help he did come up with some big plays, but when he was the last line in the defense he found a way to mess it up.

I don't see him moving. He can go to another team and start at CB. There's no reason for him to want to take the extra abuse of safety when he is still a ProBowl caliber CB at an older age.

The Bears had an awesome line that year and awesome Linebackers before Urlacher got hurt. The defense in general was setting records with TDs and such. The offense was so bad that all the complaints went there. Last year, he was exposed for the player he really is.

I just see the Polomolu/Mike Brown potential there whether it happens or not. The main reason that Safeties are valued so much now and what like 4 went i the first round.

When we first met on the other board I was a strong Benson guy and you were for Mike Williams. Neither turned out, but most the years we've been on the same page. I wasn't screaming OL as loud as you were but I was there, and still think it is a need this year. A special safety like what was available was a screaming need this year and all were available. Kills me that the Packers got the one I wanted but I would have been fine with pryor too.

We're starting to agree every year on the biggest need, I think we are getting old.

He's gone

You're losing Tillman to make that move tho. He had improved every year before being injured all last year. Tillman's a team player that would have taken a lesser contract to come back next year and hadn't shown a sign of a decline.

Owens was a horrible character guy, but until the end of his career he made every team he played for better. He's a playmaker the defense needs, and now the Packers have.

I was wanting Haha, because I wanted a ballhawking safety like Mike Brown, but I'd been happy with Pryor. Packers got the guy I liked. That just makes it worse.

They don't have a need that glaring tho. The best teams also draft well, which i'm not sure is a strength of emery.

I just don't think he can draft. The first year was bad. The linebackers from last year looked bad. I think they could have used a Saftey by a mile, and any of the next 5 picks would have been better for the team. It's nothing against fuller, but there are bigger needs.
