  1. The first point was to show you that 'yes' QBs occasionally have bad games. And more specifically you asked what I thought Mahomes would do in that same situation. The video clip I shared was nearly identical, and what's more was from this year's version of Patrick, not the one from 3-4 years ago. The illustration you shared about Justin was from earlier this season. You yourself said he 'improved' in that Atlanta game, which was the second to last of the season. I suppose the loss the GB the following week was all because Justin can't play the position or??? For all the "pundits" you say who he can't play the position, I can show just as many say he can and the team should build around him. Former players who have played the position and in Chicago to boot, Jay Cutler and Chase Daniel among them. I'm more inclined to stick with Fields because it's the 'bird in the hand' philosophy. I know what Justin can do for us and despite your insistence otherwise, I'm sure he can do more for us. I'm not convinced that Williams, Maye or any of the upcoming "generational" QBs coming out for the draft can. And if they do decide to draft a "can't miss" in one of those guys (presumably in the #1 position) how long do they have to prove they are 'it'? In my mind they'd have to literally be able to plug in play by next season to continue the upward growth of the team overall. You've said this before, as have many others, but ultimately this discussion we're having now won't matter at the end of the day. When April 25th is in the books, we'll have a better idea who our QB will be for next year. And I'm sure Poles won't be asking either of us our opinion to make that decision.
  2. Good question. Found the below link from guy who does random QB video analysis. The video was posted about a month ago when KC (and Mahomes) was in a slump where they went about 2-3 games without Mahomes being able to connect with his receivers. Either because he's missing the read or the recievers were dropping passes. The short of this video is about how Mahomes missed his primary read (Kelce) and ended up scrambling because as the commenter stated "he had a clean pocket and ran for no reason". At any rate, I'm curious to see once you get around to 'analyzing the upcoming QB draftees' you convince me how any of them are going to be better than Fields. And if they aren't this year, how long do we wait until they are?
  3. The Bears not beating the Pack two weeks ago then Dallas losing even worse…while at home. C’mon SF! If only they had Robbie Gould still on the team it would be a guaranteed win. (I guess this would’ve qualified as the Dallas loss above).
  4. The point is more about how would Mahomes hold up to withering pass rushes as Justin has done? Look no further than in Super Bowl 55 (2020) when Patrick was without most of his starting oline and how pedestrian he looked. He was rushed on newrly half of his dropbacks and threw 270 yards to 2 INTs in a 31-9 loss. And for a while this year, Mahomes had been struggling with a sub-par WR corps. Thankfully for him he has Andy Reid calling plays. And we will probably disagree on who’s at fault for the play calling/execution so far this last year (for Chicago). Not having Getsy next season will remove that “excuse”.
  5. And again you avoid the question. Mongo at least sorta answered it by saying he doesn’t think Jackson will win a SB because of his running ability. I asked you whether either of these guys would be able to succeed in the same system Justin has been in. You continue to answer that ‘they both have pocket’ presence and ‘Justin can’t read offenses’. Do think Justin would be a different QB if he was in the exact same system as Mahomes?
  6. How is Kindle Vildor a starting CB for a playoff team? ??‍♂️
  7. Lemme ask. You think he could (or would) thrive in another system elsewhere? Maybe where the OC or HC designs plays more to his skills? Whether it bet WCO, outside zone with moving pockets or RPO where he runs more than passes. You don’t yhkrn he could become a QB more like Lamar Jackson or Patrick Mahomes?
  8. Not saying he doesn’t necessarily hold the ball too long. But tell me why is that? Because the receivers aren’t open or because he’s scrambling around trying to find an open receiver. Take tonight before example. Some would argue Prescott isn’t the worst QB in the NFL but there was a lot of time where he was caught scrambling around looking for an open receiver because everyone was covered. It is what it is . Tell me how long did Dak hold the ball tonight? This post brought to you courtesy of Makers Mark. ?
  9. Greg Olsen (the former Bear TE) should be coaching in the NFL.
  10. FWIW Justin’s avg to hold the ball 3.08 seconds. CJ Stroud 3.01 seconds Josh Dobbs 2.92 seconds When it matters, is it because of the time the QB holds the ball of how long the QB had it in his hands while trying not to get sacked? https://www.si.com/nfl/bears/news/numbers-make-justin-fields-improvement-entirely-obvious This post courtesy of Makers Mark ?
  11. Dallas’ defense was ranked 5th overall on defense going into today’s game (AT DALLAS) and so far have allowed GB to score 34 points . Just last week, while in GB, Chicago allowed 17 total.
  12. Might add that GB was playing to win and get into the playoffs so someone suggesting they played light would be foolhardy.
  13. So here’s a ‘silver lining’ thought. Bears were down 7-6 at the half last week IN GB. This week GB is up 20-0 in Dallas just before the half . And Chicago only let GB score 17 total points.
  14. Meh. I don’t personally buy it. Especially after Warren was heard (repeatedly) using the ‘Vermiel-Third year’ analogy and has repeatedly said that “stability” is key going into next years. Or…he’s got one heck of a poker face.
  15. Yeah bummer but it looks like this isn’t the first time he’s been out. In a quick read this may have been at least the third time he’s left (the other two he returned after a short stint away). If you add in he was a candidate for President against Warren last year maybe Kevin thought better to have someone he knows better in that role. ??‍♂️ There were also some rumors floating about his low-balling veteran contracts over the years. Maybe they’ve run into some issues getting on the same page with Johnson?
  16. Watching some pre-game talk for this weekend and so far Eagles are -3 odds at home against the Bucs. Also saw some news about AJ Brown not only being out for the game but also putting up some interesting stuff on social media (or removing stuff rather). And over in KC, Kurt Warner was highlighting all the KC passing game struggles. Most notably how Mahomes was missing a lot of open receivers while scrambling and when he does manage to find an open receiver, they’re dropping the catches. Where have we heard that before. So it does appear other stellar QBs will struggle if not given ideal situations? Go figure. FWIW I’m especially happy to see that twit in Philly (Sirianni) struggle. Some early (and probably premature) murmurs of him being on the hot seat too .
  17. I have two neighbors on either side of me that are GB fans. There are two others in the neighborhood that follow Detroit and Minny so we have the division covered. Anyhow my one GB neighbor last week was talking (texting) lots of smack late in last weeks game (rightfully so). And I would imagine having lots of whisky while doing so (he and I share whisky on a regular basis). Anyhow, after the game was over he said I would need to host a party this weekend for the Dallas GB game and so we could FaceTime his brother in Texas to give him sh*t. I told him to f*ck off. ?. He also left me some messages in the snow berm along my driveway - below. (that SOB). There was also a large G across the way on one of the snow berms in the adjacent cul de sac. Thankfully it snowed again about an hour after these photos were taken and covered up. Anyhow the point of all this is to say, this weekend I am a Dallas fan and hoping Mike McCarthy gets his revenge. PS: the next morning after it had snowed all night, the “vandal” came over and cleared my driveway for me. ??
  18. Theoretically, if Bagent had 8x as many NFL starts as he currently has and those were under the same conditions as Fields had it, those percentages could trend up or down. Numbers and stats are what you make of them sometimes.
  19. Yeah, I’m pretty convinced it’s a parody (aka trolling) type acct. Someone looked into “his” past predictions and it showed he was wrong on all of them.
  20. Something to consider and personally I’d be ok with it.
  21. There have been numerous reports, some not so reliable and others that are. I think he made some early commentary to the effect that he was still deciding on whether he wanted to wait to enter the draft due to who may drafting the highest. And other comments in regard to him wanting ‘partial ownership’ of whatever team he’s drafted to. And of course people will take that and add their own spin to it where they’ll convince you that Williams said he doesn’t want to play for the Bears (see most recent scandalous post below for example. Many are saying it is pure fabrication). It’s hard to see through all the interference sometimes but in the end it’ll count on TRUE intel and by the actions of Williams himself.
  22. Full disclosure, I was sure Ryan Leaf would do better when it came time for him in the NFL. Who knew he was such a head case?
  23. Unless you find a Brock Purdy or Tom Brady.
  24. I’d have to check the data on Wright discussions from last year…but… As far as Flus goes, I was personally uncommitted. I can see the value of Flus staying but was a fan (to a degree) of Harbaugh returning to the NFL by way of Chicago. Cooler storyline but the recent crap in Michigan bugged me.
  25. Bagent’s NFL starts: 4 Fields NFL starts: 32
