For what it's worth, I've seen a lot of people (on social media) comment how much they think Flus sends 'cringe' vibes. So that may have been a part of what was seen. I will say for as much as I like the guy, he does come across as a bit awkward at times. With regards to the pursed lips etc, from what I remember one of the unconscious 'tells' that people give especially when they don't want to say something is either crossed arms (like a whole body block) while sitting or the subconsciously bring their hand up in front of their mouth. The lips could be any number of things, like that or as Mongo said he was starting to struggle after a full day of talking. When I watched the interview where he moved among the crowd (good move on his part) he seemed relatively comfortable but you could see he wasn't totally in his skin in doing it. And like you observed, the hug thing was a bit weird too (not just with Flus) but with Poles especially. Very brief and just awkward. What it means? Maybe nothing... more to come I'm sure.

Not so fast. Generally I don’t get too excited for the run up to the draft but for some reason this year is different. I’m still in the ‘trade the 1st for more picks camp’ but yes I did like the interview earlier today…although it may have been a more veneer less substance. Need more info to draw some conclusions.

And that last playoff game against Michigan didn’t do him any favors either. He struggled in the bright lights. I like his grit for sure. -
Yeah Saucony makes the shoe below for short-mid range running. Structurally looks similar but has the cushion plus the middle flex point which I think is what the shoe you found is copying or whatever. I prefer Hokas because they claim to be like running on clouds. But their soles are incredibly beefy like this one. Anyway....

I agree x2. Think this was brought up elsewhere that all teams should have access to the records because as PHX points out, what's to say a team that we never thought of can't pass on Caleb (for example) and will offer everything to get him? And they don't have the medical report to go off. Plus, like in the military (and many other jobs) you need to have a physical to determine whether you can do the job as well as be a 'mean' for where you started versus what may have accumulated over your playing career. (If that makes sense).

Since I'm back catching up on some other things, I had forgotten to respond to this question. FWIW I would hope they would indeed get a player like Rice. There is something to be said for genetics and similar to how MHJ has a lot of his dad's 'traits' I would assume so would Rice. If for nothing else, growing up they have a better understanding what it takes to succeed at that level.

Well I'll give you this, you certainly are bringing out a new side in Pix I never knew he had. ? Just to be sure you read my comments correctly, I think Pix was genuinely curious if those were 'lift-enhancing' shoes. I responded by letting him know what I thought. ?♂️

Well for what it's worth, this is Bears talk and I didn't really direct my comment to anyone, only to suggest it could have been interpreted a few ways. One of which involves, as you suggest, a false impression of positive vibes to the unsuspecting recipient. Like you said with Fields...it may have been cold-blooded and calculated (probably not). But what's to say it wasn't for Caleb too? Or simply Poles was caught up in the moment and as an athlete himself, felt the need to give a hug as to say 'nice work man'. This was the point I was making earlier when Poles was seen doing it before with Justin. I was wrong....as it turns out...that I was sure they'd be keeping Fields partly because of that gesture. He fooled me.

Oh no...he hugged Poles at the end. ?

I'll admit, the kid has grown on me...if only a little. Obviously he's been working on his public image and outward projection. I give him A's across the board in accessibility, "active" listening and answering and keeping the cliche's to a minimum. It looks like he can handle the press/media masses ... in "78 degree weather" in the confines of his home court. I'll be curious to hear how the individual workout goes when (if) it comes round. Remember the one they put Wright through last year that sealed the deal on him being picked #1 by the Bears? https://www.chicagobears.com/news/grueling-workout-convinced-bears-wright-was-the-one-draft-2023

I'm like you (no expert) but I think that is the new trend with some shoes. Especially at the higher end. I think that by design is supposed to be more flexible and 'springy'. I spent/spend a fair amount of time in road running shoes and I'm seeing more of the soles looking like that (and I'm 6'4"). But I could totally off base. I can't tell in the picture what brand they are - Reebok? to give it a better look.
-
Cool on Keenan to do that. Not a huge stretch given (I assume) he lives in the LA area.... but still to show up for morale support is cool on him. Based on this alone, I like the Allen signing. And at 6'2" he doesn't look that much taller.

Dang...you're right. I didn't realize it but he is more Doug Flutie (at 5"10") versus taller. Hmm...intriguing comparison. -
The rant is not unwarranted. I would agree with what you're saying. IMHO the media (in large) is in a losing battle with social media. Where now you have millions of 'experts' all trying to clickbait you into their opinion or point of view or 'first perspective' the vetting that used to go on with traditional (aka tried and true) reporting is no longer. Its all about 'me first' and in a lot of cases, how can I make more money? Walter Cronkite and even Howard Cosell I'm sure are rolling in their respective graves.

For the sake of comparisons; Drew Brees was straight up 6’0 and Doug Flutie? 5’10”. It can be done but in today’s NFL?? -

Sure I like a good healthy debate from time to time but actually I posted this because I was disappointed with RG3 taking this stance. Although he has an interesting perspective (having won the Heisman and nearly being chosen #1 overall) I didn’t really think he should’ve come out to suggest Caleb choose this option. But to your point, offering a counterpoint from time to time is ok here right? As long as it focuses on Bears football and not personal attacks? ~signed Goat’s A$$ Antagonist ?? -

Interesting perspective. Sam Darnold now at 26 vs when he entered the league at 20. -
Ironically, Daniels is now teammates with Justin in Pittsburgh.

Meanwhile you may have seen this but RGIII, apparently upset how Fields was treated by Chicago, is encouraging Williams to "pull an Eli" and demand to be traded to Washington. Let's just say many others have feelings about this. -
Well with regards to "what's next" we know that tomorrow (20 March) is the Pro Day at USC. And Poles and Flus are on their way...even if it is not by private jet.

College to NFL = Apples to Oranges Speaking of "structure" Williams is a product of Lincoln Riley's offense who also produced fellow Heisman winners Baker Mayfield and Kyler Murray. And when Williams chose to sit out the Holiday Bowl last year saw backup Miller Moss throw for 372 yards and 6TDs. -
Some of his 'red flag' reporting appears to be the 'he-said, they-said' variety. We do know he does not have an agent, not all that peculiar but we've had experience with Roquan Smith not having one and that caused some frustration and delays. And the other things we've heard about are summarized here. To include a sub-link to the Athletic about he/his father wanting to get a stake in ownership. I don't have a subscription to Athletic to read it all, but maybe others can and summarize(?) https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nfl/news/caleb-williams-red-flags-explained-father-agent/ebdb755e7ba9096db47e46a2

In that All-22 you asked me to watch I saw a handful of times where Williams had open receivers that were missed before he did a dump off to another location. Were those his primary reads? Hard to say. Warner saw and commented a few times himself on them. Like how Williams has been noted to hold onto the ball longer than Justin at times?
