  1. That's exactly what I was eluding to...
  2. If we were to trade the one, I'm taking Maye. Best upside of ANY player in the draft. His floor isn't there yet though. We're drafting for next year, so he would have a year to take his lumps.
  3. As Larry Bird said, "if ifs was fifths, we'd all be drunks."
  4. I wouldn't be mad at all. I like five QBs in this draft. So, if extra picks come with a trade down, it could be better. Caleb seems to be the lock though.
  5. I'm more and more convincing myself that Poles will trade the nine. There are many similar choices, talent wise, at 10-20. An extra second or third could outweigh standing pat.
  6. On looking at our current roster, who are the blue chip players? Here's my list.... Wright, Jenkins, Kmet, Moore, Allen, Williams, Sweat, Dexter, Stevenson, Johnson, Gordon and Brisker. I'm counting twelve. Polian says 14. We are getting close. If we hit at nine, it's 13 possibly. Maybe 14 will develop under the radar. IMO, 13 is a shock. Very cool future for our team...
  7. Yeah, he's bendy. Everyone's worried about his neck fusion. Danielle Hunter had the same
  8. I'm with you. Drafting a 3 tech tells me that Pickens and Dexter aren't it. Dexter did outplay Carter the second half of the season. We really need to see where his development goes, as year two should provide good growth in production.
  9. The above is true. The rest is so so. I've seen DB's set the edge. The most creative defenses do it various ways.
  10. I would never hate that...
  11. I like all three, but Turner is the only freak. Verse could be another Mack though...
  12. Back in the Lovie days, we took to many "men in shorts" players. When you draft football players first, it's a winning recipe. I love it when Poles and Flus talk about football character...
  13. You gotta have a mix. The low ceiling guys push the high ceiling. Coaches utilize the shame to motivate the studs...
  14. Something crazy though, is that IOL cost is on the rise and OT is on the decline.
  15. ? He probably has a restraining order out on you...?
  16. I am thinking of selling this. It's 52 years old. Anyone know the value? 24x36
  17. That's your opinion. If one is highly rated by our guys, it's possible due to it being one of the three premium positions...
  18. I bet our old boy Dave Toub comes up with something...
  19. He's definitely a dummy, but he can be a Cordarrelle Stewart. Stewart was highly thought of before they figured out he couldn't adapt to the NFL. He found a niche as a ramrod. Jones can be the same for us.
  20. Yeah, I call him Lord Poles for fun, but truly believe he is going to make us a winner. IMO, he is the best we've had since Jim Finks. Below, is an excerpt from an article from The Atlantic I found to be outstanding. It tells the whole Justin story, without mentioning Justin at all. The whole article is great. Poles went on to say that every individual has his own timeline, and some players have to be allowed time to develop to “work through some things.” “But when it goes too far and too long, your locker room knows,” he said. “I always keep that in my mind. If I’m gonna ask those guys to take ownership of a bad game, a dropped pass, a missed assignment, I think that should be reciprocated from the front office and coaching staff as well.”
  21. I'd like to enter the Caleb fray. I fully expect to see as many wow plays as Justin had last year. But, I expect also some rookie failures along the way. The most important thing with Caleb this season, and it's not even close, is processing and utilizing the entire field. That, IMO, is why Justin is no longer here. If see Caleb throwing people open and hitting deep crosses, I will be a happy camper. The first half of the season will probably be a lot of ball control TOP type of offense to protect Caleb. The second half of the season should bring a little more attacking...
